Chapter 366: 150. Elizabeth Gedelin (Two in One, Alliance Leader Bonus Chapter)

"Fisher, what are you talking about?"

Elizabeth, with a beautiful and gentle expression resembling the Mother Goddess’s most devout envoy, looked bewilderedly at Fisher in front of her as if she didn’t understand anything he was saying. After hesitating for a moment, she gently reached out to touch Fisher’s forehead, wanting to see if he had a fever.

But Fisher quickly caught Elizabeth’s tender hand. His intuition and all his rationality were being fully utilized at this moment. He rapidly went through everything he had experienced and all the information he had gathered since returning from the South Continent.

The more he recalled, the more terrifying the implications became, and the more convinced he became of his own thoughts.

"...The real person cooperating with Erwin is you, Elizabeth."

Elizabeth looked astonished at the man before her, seemingly clueless about what he was saying.

Fisher then gently let go of her hand. The nearby soldiers all halted in their tracks, as if no further steps would be taken without Elizabeth’s command.

Fisher had always thought Erwin was the ultimate mastermind behind the scenes, even Blake was merely a pawn in his hands... but upon closer reflection, Erwin doing these things made no sense; he had no motive to act.

Even if what he wanted was the Completion Manual, that should have been something the Schwali Delegation only knew after they were attacked, so why was he staying in Saint Nali before that?

What if Erwin and Elizabeth were partners, and Erwin acted on Elizabeth’s orders?

With Erwin as the covert line and Elizabeth as the overt line, what had they been doing all this time?

Fisher looked at the Elizabeth before him, didn’t answer her query, and while thinking, he began to articulate his own thoughts,

"Back when I saw the plant meat technology in Blake’s hands, I should have known—the Witch Research Association’s technology to create Artificial Witches, which was plant meat (see Chapter 35), wasn’t their own but was given to them by Erwin. Why did Erwin pass this technology to them?"

"The Witch Research Association had only one truly genuine relic of the real Witch—they used the black hair from plant meat to create a perfect Artificial Witch named Carlo, and if they wanted to create more Artificial Witches, they would have to continuously harvest parts of Carlo’s body... this is what you were aiming for, a pawn belonging to the Witch Research Association but one who resents them."

Elizabeth quietly watched Fisher in front of her, seemingly waiting for what he would say next. Fisher followed his train of thought,

"It was you who traveled to Schwali to foster harmony between the two nations (Chapter 23), it was you who arranged the scholarly visit with the Queen of Schwali, and that’s why you knew the Schwali scholarly delegation would carry the Silver Mirror borrowed from Kado. And it was through Erwin that you sent this information to the Pink Hall, enabling them to devise a plan to attack the Schwali Delegation."

Elizabeth, however, shook her head, looking at Fisher as she denied,

"It could very well have been Blake instructing Erwin to do this, it was a plan made by the Pink Hall, they needed precondition, not me."

Fisher stood still, continuing her words,

"Indeed, that’s a possibility, but if the outcomes of this operation hadn’t resulted in what it did today, I probably wouldn’t think this way."

"The attack on Schwali could only be a result of a transaction between Lunxis and Blake. Blake using the Mu Xi reaching the end of its lifespan to extend his life was merely a delaying tactic, he still needed another Whale-man Species to complete the plant meat. But how would Blake know where such a species, not seen on land for ages, would be located?"

Fisher’s gaze flickered, staring directly at Elizabeth as he continued,

"Unless, Lunxis was reminded by someone that every eighty years, a letter from a Whale-man Species would be delivered ashore. He used the clue of the Whale-man Species along with official assistance as leverage, allowing Blake to repay in two ways. First, to distribute part of the Whale-man Species to Gedelin IX, securing his position as heir; the second, to sabotage the Schwali visit overseen by Dexter, which would undermine his brother’s influence."

"But this operation failed due to mine and Carlo’s intervention. The assassination by the Pink Hall failed, not only providing Dexter with a lead on Lunxis’s slip-up, but also pushing Pink Hall into public’s eye because of the bill Anna exposed."

"But the primary reason I cooperated with Carlo was because I entered the Pink Hall using the Schwali Perfume you gave me, Anna recognized me through the lighter scent (Chapter 102), which led to Carlo leaving the Pink Hall and making a deal with me."

"And Anna herself decided to break away from Blake and pursue freedom because of you (Chapter 102). His resistance against Blake, risking exposure of Pink Hall’s bills, was all inspired by you... I don’t know how you did it, but after this operation, Dexter started to watch Lunxis and the Pink Hall’s background with Blake came into my view."

"But you, the unrelated looking elder princess, what did you gain? The scandal-embroiled New Party lost Dexter’s trust and also faced the risk of being investigated. They needed a new Royal Family support to get out of their current predicament, thus they approached me, asking for your help to eliminate the evidence (Chapter 92)... This is your real purpose, you actually didn’t abide by your promise and eliminate the New Party’s embezzlement evidence, right? The evidence is in your hands at this very moment."
