Chapter 309: 126.Blake Vasili (8000)_4

Moli’s gaze hardened ever so slightly as she launched a full-power strike with her fist towards Blake. However, her punch, which carried immense strength, was suddenly caught by Blake’s outstretched hand.

"Clang!"

Could Blake, as a human, actually catch Moli’s fist with such strength?

At that moment, Fisher began to suspect that Blake must have undergone some kind of physical modification. It’s just that right now, his whole body was shrouded in a cloak, so Fisher couldn’t determine what exactly had been done.

"Boom!"

After a loud noise, the ground where they made contact cracked under the force of Moli’s efforts. Blake’s aged face remained unflinching, and his other robust arm formed a fist that smashed down towards Moli.

Moli spun her body in midair and struck Blake’s face with another punch. Her fist hit Blake’s face, causing only a slight tremor of his head as if there was no strength behind her blow, but Moli had clearly used all her might.

Facing Moli’s astonished gaze, Blake spoke softly,

"The strength of the Whale-man species can reach this level; indeed, you are worthy of being called the Son of the Sea..."

The next second, he firmly gripped Moli’s wrist, preventing her from moving away. His other hand aimed a chop at her elbow, which, given the exaggerated strength Blake seemed to possess, could have broken her right arm on the spot.

"Buzz, buzz!"

Just at that critical moment, two rapidly spinning Light Blades shot straight towards Blake’s eyes.

Blake’s expression shifted slightly as he faced the magic aimed at his eyes; he had to change his movement mid-action, stepping back to cancel his original plan. During this process, Moli forcefully twisted and broke free from Blake’s grasp.

"There seems to be some movement ahead; let’s check it out!"

Clearly enraged by Fisher and Moli’s successive attacks, Blake heard the distant voices of the Guard Army, signifying that there wasn’t much time left.

Needing to fight quickly and decisively, he took a deep breath, his arm muscles tensing instantly as he threw a punch straight at the struggling-to-rise Fisher.

"Whoosh!"

The terrifying force made Fisher’s hair stand on end. Twisting the Fluid Sword in his hands, he leaped up and aimed a slash at Blake’s neck. Blake neither dodged nor flinched, allowing both the punch and the slash to strike at the same time; a second later, the entire area resounded with a shockwave.

"Ding ding..."

"Boom!"

Fisher’s Fluid Sword reached Blake’s body a fraction of a moment faster, but this time, the normally unerring Ramasitia Fluid Sword failed to penetrate its target.

Within Fisher’s astonished gaze, a faint blue luminescence appeared on the skin of Blake’s neck, tightly protecting his flesh as if it were some kind of invisible, unyielding armor, preventing Fisher’s sword from advancing any further.

"Heh..."

Blake’s expression was hideously contorted. As the edge of the blade scraped by, Fisher felt as if he was cutting into the hardest substance in the world. His arm was already weakened from injury, and now it was numb from the counter-shock, almost causing him to drop the Fluid Sword.

The Fluid Sword’s blade grated against his muscle, emitting a sharp metallic noise, and at the same time, Blake’s punch smashed into the ground.

The effect was entirely opposite to Fisher’s attack. In that instant, a violent gust of wind fanned out from the point of impact on the ground, raising sharp rocks and fragments with terrible force.

After a loud explosion, the ground erupted into a huge crater, and Fisher was showered with flying stones that brought forth blood. Accompanied by the severe pain of fractured bones, Fisher’s complexion turned deathly pale, a feeling of being oppressed by death surging in his heart. He spun uncontrollably in midair for several turns, blood spraying out and tracing a bloody trail on the ground.

"Fisher!"

Moli’s eyes were about to split, her hand quickly reaching out to catch Fisher to prevent him from hitting the ground and sustaining further damage. However, even the force of his ejection was immense; it was hard to imagine just how strong Blake’s original attack had been.

Was this human actually a monster?

"Fisher Benavides, stop your futile resistance," Blake spoke with an ancient tone, as raw as if ringing from an anvil of the last century. "I seek only the Son of the Sea. Once I obtain the Son of the Sea, I will disappear from Nali and never appear in human society again..."

Blake’s grating voice was accompanied by the sound of his ever-closer footsteps. Moli clenched her teeth and gently lowered Fisher to the ground, rising to continue the fight, but Fisher reached out to stop Moli from advancing.

Meeting Moli’s worried backward glance, Fisher exhaled and maneuvered his little finger to hook a Magic Poker card, which once again appeared in his palm.

This Magic Poker was his last resort, containing Eighth Ring Magic, "Rain."

The designed effect of this magic was not to kill enemies. In Fisher’s original plan of action, having to use this magic meant that both he and Moli were in dire straits; it was the last card Fisher had up his sleeve for this operation.

As the magic halo surged, the magic drained the last bit of Magic Power from Fisher’s body. He bit down painfully on his teeth but still activated the magic in the card, invoking the Reverberation of the world.
