Chapter 300: 124. Relative Years

Looking at the photo in his hands, the relationship between the Healing Room and Mu Xi became clear at once, just as it had when she sent the iron box engraved with the words "Healing Room" back to the sea. This proved that Mu Xi had once been here.

But now, the question laid out in front of Fisher was whether Mu Xi’s disappearance was connected to the Healing Room...

"Fisher, Aunt Mu Xi had been here before, and someone took her photo,"

Moli, holding a photo frame in her hands, was hopping excitedly. With each bounce, her overly developed softness slightly swayed, causing Fisher to quietly withdraw his gaze and immerse himself in thought.

He gently flipped the photo frame, trying to discover any information beyond the photo, but found nothing.

"If this shelf holds your aunt’s photo, it’s very possible there might be other documents and information here too..."

Fisher placed the photo frame on the shelf, his gaze sweeping over this wave-emblazoned shelf which, besides the photo frame, held many scattered items that mostly seemed meaningless, resembling ordinary spare parts and trinkets.

Fisher also saw a small fan marked with a wave emblem. Clearly, these must have been souvenirs the Healing Room had given to guests.

However, what was most abundant on the shelf was a pile of iron boxes stacked atop each other. Taking one of the iron boxes, Fisher discovered it was identical to the one Mu Xi had sent back to the sea.

This time, it wasn’t empty, but filled with colorful, hard candies.

As Fisher opened the box, the candies within didn’t roll around. Looking closely, the candies were firmly stuck to the bottom of the box, emitting a strange sour smell.

"These are the candies Aunt sent back; I’ve tasted them before... And there were more candies in the iron box Aunt sent back than there are here."

Moli, who was standing by his side, looked at the candies in the box with shining eyes, her throat visibly moving, clearly tempted by the candies. If Fisher wasn’t mistaken, this candy must have been the first candy she ever tasted in her life...

But Fisher shook his head, explaining to Moli with a wry smile,

"These candies have expired, and though it seems you won’t get a stomachache from them, it’s better not to eat them. I’ll buy you other candies later..."

"Okay!"

Although Moli was a bit disappointed, she could clearly see that the candies were off and obediently nodded. Then, she watched as Fisher put the fruitless iron box back in its place.

Actually, Fisher initially thought Mu Xi might have been in a state of captivity or unfreedom, but upon seeing the wedding iris Seal, he abandoned that thought.

Mu Xi had no ulterior motive in sending these items; she simply wanted to convey her well-being and current state of life. However, since Moli had sent back this box of Healing Room’s candies, it must imply she had a close relationship with the Healing Room for a time...

Passing the first shelf, Fisher and Moli continued deeper into the room, which was very well soundproofed. Although there should have been chaos in the Healing Room by now, Fisher heard no expected noise here.

Moreover, the soldiers hadn’t discovered this secret room yet, giving Fisher reason to suspect that Kachina might have destroyed the entrance to this secret room or its mechanism.

Looking further inside, along the left wall of the tunnel space hung several framed paintings. According to Anna, Kachina had hidden the location of the Blake Vault behind one of these paintings.

"Fisher, look quickly! It’s Saint Nali University!"

Fisher was still examining the first painting when Moli, who had somehow gotten ahead of him, was already pointing excitedly at the last painting in the row.

Following Moli’s steps forward, Fisher swept his gaze over the previous paintings. He noticed that all these paintings were hand-painted oils, which apparently came from the same artist.

When he caught up to Moli, he finally saw what she referred to as "Saint Nali University."

"... this is, how Saint Nali University looked three years ago when it had just been established."

The depiction of Saint Nali University was still just a planned outline with only one tall building rising from the ground, which was the main academic building of Saint Nali University.

Atop it, Gedelin IX’s handwritten exhortation to learn had already been moved there, now serving as a landmark building of Saint Nali University.

But the other buildings were not fully constructed yet; the surrounding area was still the enclosed wilderness of Saint Nali Suburb. Incredulously, in the very corner of the painting, a wooden structure could be faintly seen, a place Fisher recognized—it was the decrepit stable that Trandell had rented out to him, his good but cursed friend!

However, the problem was that Saint Nali University was quite far from his own research lab, invisible to the naked eye, yet it appeared in the painting...

Could it mean that the painter’s eyesight was far superior to Humans?

Or was it merely a stream-of-consciousness style of painting?

That was something Fisher couldn’t ascertain, but, looking closely at the somewhat rough brushstrokes on the canvas, Fisher could determine that this painting definitely wasn’t the work of a professional painter...

"Wait a second..."
