Chapter 164 - 69. Ramasitia Fluid Sword

Chapter 164: 69. Ramasitia Fluid Sword

Facing the sea breeze, Lingna bounded ahead with youthful energy. Just like the first time they met, she carried a large bag on her back; unlike that first crude, dark bag, however, this one was transparent. Fisher could not see what was inside.

At this moment, reassessing the young girl before him, Fisher noticed that her previously visible crab appendages had vanished without a trace. She now resembled an endearing, delicate human little girl, with soft little hands and feet, wearing a peculiar garment of unknown fabric.

"Where have your crab shell and pincers gone?"

As they walked to the beach below Parker Park, it was now dawn, and apart from the night breeze, there were no other visitors there, allowing Fisher to ask.

Lingna pulled out the oddly-shaped sea snail she had before, took a sip of its fluid, and thus they could communicate normally.

He squatted down to take a closer look at her arms, which now seemed no different from a human’s, her webbing fingers included, all gone.

"Humph, I’ve received a blessing from Lord Ramasitia. But it’s only the outside that has changed; if I get hurt, I’ll revert to my original form."

When she heard Fisher’s words, she placed her hands on her hips, stuck her chest out, and raised her head in a proud posture that made Fisher think the blessing was her own doing instead of Lord Ramasitia’s.

Fisher suddenly thought of Moli, a member of the Whale-man Species, who could transform into a human in the presence of others—probably also due to Lord Ramasitia’s blessing.

"I didn’t think I’d see you on land."

"Hehe, it must be Lord Ramasitia guiding me. I told Him about Fisher in my prayers last time. He seems to enjoy stories a lot—he even sent more bubbles in response than before."

Lingna, with the bag on her back, had a look of joy similar to reuniting with an old friend. However, when she recalled the recent incident, fear crept into her expression. She pouted towards Fisher and said,

"Ugh, I thought humans had caught me again, it scared me to death. Hmph, I’m just here to trade, but those annoying folks always want to see the face of the person they’re trading with!"

"So, you’re here to trade with humans?"

Lingna sat down on the sand and nodded. She excitedly opened her bag,

"Yeah, look at these human items I’ve traded for recently... My old bag broke, and my dad gave me a better one. He told me it’s a ’relic’ that can hold lots and lots of things. Without this bag, ’Lingna’s Little Shop’ would never happen."

As she spoke, she shook out some items from inside—Fisher briefly scanned them and recognized human crafts like pocket watches, cigarette cases, and necklaces, all typical of urban legends and not particularly valuable among young people.

Seeing Fisher’s scrutinizing gaze, Lingna patted her chest and confidently said,

"I didn’t steal anything this time, I found all my goods in the Sea Floor, and they were voluntarily traded by humans, so you can’t ask for them back."

She pouted and, after showing them, began stuffing the items back into her bag as if they were treasures.

"Hehe, when I show these things to my friends back home, they’ll be so jealous. They’ve never seen real human items; they’ll be dying of envy."

Fisher silently smiled and looking at her small frame, he asked,

"So, why did you come all this way to the continent? Did you come alone?"

The question brought up some distress for her.

Lingna touched her head with a vexed expression and then explained,

"I got caught the last time I sneaked out by my dad. He had some business in the human city and was worried that I’d sneak out the moment he left, so he brought me along. I sneaked out just now, too. My dad and the others are looking for Lord Royal from the Sea Trench that’s arrived on land, but they haven’t made contact yet..."

"The Royal Family? That demi-human group living in the Sea Trench?"

Fisher heard the familiar term again, and it reminded him of Lingna’s previous descriptions of the royal family.

He immediately thought of Moli, who was from the Whale-man Species, a race mentioned in the Doomsday Prophecy. Could the Whale-man Species be the royal family Lingna was referring to?

"Are you talking about the Whale-man when you mention the Royal Family?"

After contemplating Fisher’s question, Lingna frowned and shook her head.

"I... I’ve never met Lord Royal myself. If it weren’t for the Companion Sea Beast seeking help from my father, he wouldn’t venture so far into a human city—it’s too dangerous. But I heard that Lord Royal has important matters to handle on land, and that Sea Beast wants our help for Lord Royal."

"The Royal Family isn’t coming ashore to cause trouble, are they?"

Fisher joked, but Lingna jumped with fright and thought for a moment before innocently explaining,

"How could that be... Lord Royals usually stay in the Sea Trench all the time. They shouldn’t come out unless it’s for something important; but I’m not sure myself. What about you, Fisher? Why are you here?"

"I heard there was a little elf fond of trading around here. I thought it might be a demi-human, and I happened to run into you... But if it’s not about causing trouble, and you need help, you can come to me."

"I forgot you’re a weird human interested in demi-humans..."

Fisher pulled out a piece of paper from his little notebook, drew a small Messenger Magic Emblem with blood, and handed the messenger symbol to Lingna.

"Is your bag waterproof?"

She took the small plane and studied it for a while, seemingly having never seen such a thing before. After fiddling with it for a bit, she nodded and said,

"Mhm, but I have to tell my dad and the others first... Oh, by the way, Fisher, I really like your stone. What is it, and why is it colorful?"

As she spoke, Lingna curiously looked at the Earth Marrow in Fisher’s hand, apparently very fond of the colorful light streaming across it. "There’s nothing like this under the sea. Shiny things are precious where we are, and my family doesn’t have many luminous stones."

"This is Earth Marrow; it’s probably considered a special product of the land since its formation requires plenty of sunlight..."

"Hehe, why not visit my shop? I’ll trade you treasures for it, how about that?"

She smacked her lips, struggling to wrench her gaze away from the pretty stone and then, with those sparkling big eyes, she turned to look at Fisher with a pleading expression.

Seeing how much she wanted it, Fisher laughed and asked,

"What treasures could you possibly have?"

"Humph, I’ve brought a lot of things from my dad. He doesn’t use these things anymore, so he gave them to me, and among them are many treasures! Like Vomiting Pearl Balls, Balabear bones, and Electric Electric Seahorses..."

As she spoke, she shook items from the shimmering transparent bag. The bag was like a glowing stream of water, and as she moved, she pulled item after item out.

There were black pearls that emitted an ominous aura; there was a skull of an unknown species; an odd seahorse that shimmered with electric arcs and could float in the air...

There were many things, but none of them seemed very significant. After all, she was just an eight-year-old child; it’s likely her father wouldn’t dare give her anything too valuable.

Even so, she could be considered quite wealthy.

Compared to his 28-year-old self, aside from a wallet that was thin to the extreme, he had nothing.

Fisher looked at the items on the ground with a face full of dark lines. Right then, a black sword handle caught his eye.

He first thought it was a short dagger since he was looking for a suitable cold weapon, but to his surprise, this object had only the handle, without a blade.

He reached out and took the small handle, and the moment his fingers touched the item, a deep chill surged through his heart. The next moment, a substance resembling quicksilver burst from the black handle, which seemed to be flowing at an extremely fast speed, quickly forming an exceptionally sharp blade.

And that’s not all; the quicksilver-like fluid could change shape according to Fisher’s thoughts, into a whip shape, a curved sword shape. If he controlled the speed of the flow, Fisher could even use this material as a rope.

"What is this?"

Lingna also looked curiously at the black weapon in Fisher’s hands, but after thinking for a long time, she tapped her head in confusion and said,

"Wait, I think I’ve seen this before. My dad said it’s called the... uh, the Ramasitia Fluid Sword. But generally, Lord Ramasitia gives these to the village ’Guardians’ to protect the village, so why is it in my bag? I’ve never taken such a thing..."

Fisher raised an eyebrow, looking down at the strange weapon in his hands, which became as pliable as he wished, like an extra limb that obeyed his every command.

"Are you sure it didn’t just drop into your bag from your father’s collection?"

"My dad doesn’t have this kind of treasure either, but if it’s in my bag, it should be mine, right?"

Lingna rubbed her chin, quickly gave up on pondering, and with her left fist hammered her right hand’s palm, her eyes shining as she declared,

"Decided, I’ll trade this weapon for Fisher’s...uh, pretty stone!"

She promptly hugged the piece of Earth Marrow that Fisher had placed to the side, unable to part with it.

Fisher didn’t stop her because he had a hunch that the weapon in his hand was an extraordinary treasure.

If this item didn’t belong to Lingna or her father, then why did it appear in her bag?

And since the item was called the Ramasitia Fluid Sword, it suggested a deep connection with the deity of the sea. Could it be possible that this was a gift from that divinity to him?

Fisher turned to gaze out at the calm sea which mirrored a giant round moon in the sky. The moon appeared like a giant eye in the sea, staring directly at Fisher on the shore.

"Hoo~hoo~hoo~"

While Fisher was in thought and Lingna was examining the Earth Marrow, a deep, beast-like bellow suddenly came from the distance in the sky.

Fisher looked up and saw through the moonlit clouds a deep red flying vessel, engraved with a giant serpent’s head, slowly making its way toward Saint Nali amidst roars.

The serpent is a traditional belief of the Schwali and also a symbol of their royal family. It is said that Schwali’s first Emperor killed a white snake hiding underground with his battle-axe, ascended the supreme throne bathed in snake blood, and thus the snake became their symbol of power for generations.

And the flying vessel was also Schwali’s most famous product; their vessels were both large and safe, truly looking like terrifying giant beasts dominating the sky from afar.

The Schwali delegation, on the early morning of Saturday, arrived at Saint Nali as scheduled, according to their original plan.
