Chapter 130 - 48. Magic Refilling

Chapter 130: 48. Magic Refilling

Fisher had a research lab in Saint Nali, which wasn’t actually his, but rather belonged to that guy Trandell.

Trandell had an unused stable on the outskirts of Saint Nali that he invested in during his school days, previously housing many fine horses.

After graduation, when he ran for a seat with the New Party, he needed a large amount of money for funding, so he sold all the horses and was even ready to sell the land. However, the location of the land wasn’t great, and since he didn’t have much investment insight when he bought it, no one could have predicted that Saint Nali University, specially approved by the Royal Family, would be built there, so he couldn’t sell it for a good price.

Fisher scraped together some money and rented the land from Trandell for 60 years, which was practically the same as buying it, helping relieve some of Trandell’s financial pressure. Since then, Fisher had been using it as his lab, but his research rarely required a proper lab, so he seldom came here.

Now, it was the perfect place to settle the demon species.

Getting off the carriage, the demon didn’t continue her dead slumber from before; as soon as the carriage stopped, she opened her eyes, yawned, and holding a wine bottle, jumped down from the back of the carriage.

Following Fisher to the front of the stable, she surveyed the surroundings and, after confirming there were no other humans around, took off her cloak, revealing her four twisted black horns, took a deep breath of the fresh suburban air, and said,

"Hmm, the environment here is nice, quite suitable for sleeping."

Ignoring her nonsensical talk about sleeping, Fisher took out his keys and opened the door, exposing the dusty room inside, which was genuinely unkempt and somewhat messy.

Familiarly grabbing a broom, Fisher swept the dust off the floor, while Elliog carefully took the dust cover off Fisher’s bed with her wine bottle in hand, and boldly sat down, beginning to unscrew the cap of the bottle.

"I forgot to ask, human, what’s your name?"

"Fisher... don’t start drinking just yet, in case you get drunk. I need to do some research later."

At the mention of research, her face soured as if she were regretting agreeing to Fisher’s request.

The bed here is so comfortable, the environment so peaceful, and the time being afternoon, it’s just perfect for sleeping. However, since she agreed, she silently placed the wine bottle beside the bed.

"Fine, I’m Elliog, a demon, nice to meet you. By the way, the research you mentioned, is it tiring?"

"Not tiring, you don’t even have to move."

Fisher turned and retrieved some measuring tools from his drawer, took out some papers for recording data, and tested the lighting in the room to make sure it still worked. After completing all this, he pointed to the reclining chair in front of him and said,

"Alright, come lie down here."

"Yes, yes."

She lazily shifted her body and slowly laid down on the recliner in front of Fisher. As Fisher adjusted the light over her, she didn’t panic at all, reacting much better than Rafa had the first time.

Fisher put on a pair of magic-made spectacles, watching her as she took off her cloak, revealing her cool attire underneath. His gaze swept over her wheat-colored skin, and magma-like serpentine circuitry appeared in Fisher’s spectacles.

"Can you take off your weapon?"

"Yeah, no problem."

Her weapon was a set of two curved swords strapped to her back, one long and one short, with quite unique specifications.

The longer one looked like a twisted snake, resembling both a sword and a spear, encased in a wooden sheath that, judging by its appearance, had seen many uses.

The black short sword, on the other hand, was completely different, shaped like a crescent moon, the wooden sheath engraved with extremely intricate patterns, much more sophisticated than the long sword.

Fisher only glanced briefly at the weapon before focusing on the demon species lying obediently in front of him.

Elliog was also assessing the human before her, watching the intense focus in Fisher’s eyes, her lazy interest increasing by the minute.

"You said you came to Saint Nali to track down sinners? What kind of sinners?"

"Ahh, it was a human."

"Human?"

Fisher was slightly startled; he hadn’t expected that most humans were unaware of the existence of demon species, yet the sinner they were pursuing was a human? What kind of human had such ability?

"It’s a human who committed a major crime. I was ordered to hunt him down, but it seems I can’t find where he is now because I slept for too long..."

So it was because she was too lazy to complete her work?

In just half a day of interaction, Fisher felt he already had a good grasp of this demon species’ character—extreme laziness. Fisher could see her traits clearly; it was a wonder how other demons dared to entrust her with tasks.

"Well, but now I don’t have money and need to cooperate in your research, so it’s understandable I can’t continue searching for that sinner, what a pity..."

As Elliog spoke these words of pity, her mouth almost burst into an irrepressible smile, displaying a sense of pride in her slacking off.

Fisher’s ruler inch by inch measured her body, he found that the demon species’ body was far more sturdy and hot than humans. It resembled the dragon-man species from before, except the demon didn’t have scales like the dragon-man.

Elliog noticed Fisher’s gaze and explained with a smile,

"We live deep underground. If our bodies weren’t tough, the magma would roast us into slag. Ordinary weapons can’t hurt us."

"I see."

Fisher silently committed the observed information to memory. As he learned more, the Completion Manual in his chest warmed slightly, as if some of the pages had begun to shimmer with a golden glow, automatically recording the relevant research content.

"Fisher... Hmm, is that the name? Although I haven’t received your money yet, I can start teaching you now. But first, you need to change those poor human habits of yours."

"Hmm?"

Fisher’s action of measuring her tail paused briefly as he turned to look at the demon, who hadn’t moved since she had sat on the research chair. He didn’t seem to understand the meaning of her words.

"Hey, you clearly don’t understand. There’s a big gap between your body’s quality and a human’s, but you still treat it with human habits. It’s like a giant Soul-devouring Volcano Monster. It has a huge body that you’ve never fed enough, making it thinner and weaker over time. Even though it remains a powerful Soul-devouring Volcano Monster, it can’t fully utilize its strength."

"You need to exercise, exercise uncontrolled, and, oh, periodically vent your desires."

At this point, she became very interested, twisting her body on the chair,

"At your age, you should be engaging in ’that kind of activity’ daily. Your energy is too vigorous, yet you have no outlet for release. If flames can’t escape, they’ll burn out the carrier, but you seem not to understand that."

Fisher quickly realized what she was referring to. He thought about it and found there was some truth to the demon’s words.

Firstly, his body, having undergone enhancements from the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual specific to dragon-man species, was much stronger than an average human. In the South Continent, due to constant battles, he got plenty of exercise. But after returning to the Western Continent, he hadn’t moved much. Sometimes, when he woke up, he could even feel his muscles weren’t as strong as before.

As for the other matter... that also seemed reasonable.

During the time he was with Rafael, not only did her body feel smooth and comfortable, but he also had to admit that those days were very relaxing for him, without the continuous feeling of heat.

The dragon-man species had a tail-fitting mechanism to control their desires, but what about humans? How does this continuously restless creature control it? Fisher’s long-term reliance on rational suppression felt somewhat off, and with Renie’s flirting in recent days, Fisher often felt irritated.

Fisher thought for a moment, set aside his initial disdain for the "teaching" mentioned by the demon, and then asked,

"So, you mean to say I need intense training to maintain my current physical condition?"

"Basically, that’s just the basics. The key is how you utilize your body. Of course, if you just want to live longer and stay healthy, then ignore what I said. However, if you’re interested in learning combat skills, I can teach you without holding back."

Her tone was lazy but unmistakably confident. She pointed at Fisher’s body and outlined the specific blueprint,

"First, there must be a certain amount of exercise daily, then you clear out your reserves. After maintaining this for a while, then you can decide whether to learn my combat skills. But I must warn you, I can’t stay here long; if we drag this out, I’ll be ousted from the Dynasty..."

Fisher thought carefully for a second, then without further hesitation, he nodded and looked at the demon in front of him and said,

"I understand. I want to learn both physical exercise and combat training."

"Oh? Quick decision. I like that decisive nature. Good."

While she spoke of liking decisive nature, she didn’t even bother to turn her body or nod, only using her gaze to convey approval to Fisher.

Fisher didn’t fully trust the words of the demon in front of him and silently continued his research on her, but agreeing now wouldn’t cost him anything.

Fisher recorded the physical characteristics of the demon, some traits of her tail and horns remained unexplored. However, it was almost time for dinner, and because he left in a hurry, Fisher hadn’t even had lunch when he went to Snake Head Street to bring this demon out.

After several pages of notes had been filled in his notebook, the hunger in his body brought him back to reality.

He rubbed his eyes, removed the monocle, but discovered that the silent demon in front of him had fallen asleep again at some point, which explained why she hadn’t made a sound during his research.

"Umm...are you done?"

Before Fisher could call her, she woke up with a huge yawn, and with her mouth open, the air in front of her heated and churned.

"Yes, that’s enough for today. I’ll get you something to eat tonight. What would you like to eat?"

Elliog blinked and looked over at Fisher beside her,

"Meat, alcohol, things like that... Ah, right, if you don’t want to spend money, there’s another way to get full."

"What way?"

Elliog sat up and with a suggestive nod at the gentleman in front of her, said slyly,

"Hey, human, have you heard of ’Magic Refilling’?"
