Chapter 1393: Chapter 603: God, I’m Going to Eat You!

In the hospital room, the white-painted walls were marred by grime, with the carcasses of smashed mosquitoes smeared on them, leaving dark crimson bloodstains.

Inside the room, the monstrous doctor and nurses were silent, their gazes fixed on Big Sweet Sister.

Song Tian’s body trembled, her legs so weak she could barely stand. She glanced at Lin Baici, words forming on her lips before she swallowed them back down.

Even calling out to him would be useless—it might only drag him into this mess.

"Take care!"

Song Tian’s lips moved silently as she uttered two words. Then she turned and walked toward the window.

"Song Tian!"

Lin Baici’s heart clenched tightly.

Big Sweet Sister turned back, flashing Lin Baici a faint, bittersweet smile before shifting her gaze to the director. "Fuck you! If I’m going to be thrown down, I’d rather jump myself!"

"Listen here!"

"Humans! We fucking have dignity too!"

Big Sweet Sister raised her hand and firmly gave him the middle finger.

Lin Baici clenched his fists tightly.

[Don’t act impulsively. You’re already steeped in the pollution of the God. You’re trapped like a fish in a barrel. It has ten thousand ways to kill you. Only by escaping and confronting the God directly will you have a chance to destroy it.]

The Eater God reminded him once again.

Lin Baici took a deep breath, pulling in as much oxygen as possible, forcing himself to calm down and think quickly for a way out.

There must be a solution!

Think faster,

what’s the critical point?

By the time Lin Baici took his third deep breath, a sudden clarity jolted through his mind. His eyes snapped open. He glanced first at the director, then turned his head toward the nurses.

Not here!

The nurse wearing black suspender stockings wasn’t here.

When Lin Baici had gone to the nurses’ station earlier to chat with her, he’d caught a whiff of the perfume she was wearing. He had even coaxed her by promising her a set of makeup.

Now, though that nurse wasn’t present, the faint scent of her perfume lingered in the air—an exact match.

Lin Baici took a deep sniff.

No mistake. Though faint, it was definitely there. And the person radiating that scent...

Lin Baici locked his gaze on someone.

The director!

So that nurse in black stockings was his mistress.

This kind of perfume scent could only transfer if the director had been in close physical contact with her!

With this clue in hand,

how could he cleanse the contamination?

Lin Baici thought back to how he had evaded the doctors’ examinations in the outpatient department. Without hesitation, he strode purposefully toward the director.

"What are you doing?"

Swish!

The doctors immediately surrounded the director, shielding him behind them and glaring angrily at Lin Baici.

If Lin Baici dared make a move, they’d descend upon him as a violent mob.

"Director, I have a secret to tell you."

Lin Baici smiled.

"Speak then!"

The director urged him to get on with it.

Song Tian froze in place, anxiety flashing in her eyes as she stared at Lin Baici. "Don’t do anything reckless."

Lin Baici pushed past the doctors blocking his way, stepping right up beside the director. Leaning in close to his ear, he murmured softly, "Director, you wouldn’t want your wife—or the health bureau—to find out about your affair with a certain nurse, would you?"

Upon hearing this, the director’s kindly expression stiffened, then darkened completely. He glowered at Lin Baici with a piercing gaze. "You think just saying it makes it true?"

Lin Baici maintained his smile, radiating an air of confidence, though his mind raced at full throttle.

What did that response mean?

Did he want proof?

But where could he find proof?

Interrogate the nurse in black stockings? That wouldn’t be so simple. And what if she refused to talk, or if the director claimed it was a fabricated accusation?

"I have evidence!"

Lin Baici bluffed, but inwardly he was certain there must be some physical evidence.

His thoughts flashed to the locker room.

He remembered a locker stuffed with worn stockings, of every imaginable color—a sight that had burned itself into his memory. The same brand of perfume lingered there...

Back then, he’d guessed it was the locker of the nurse in black stockings.

The evidence must still be there.

"You have ten minutes to come up with an explanation, or all of you will die!"

The director issued his ultimatum and sat down on the edge of the hospital bed.

"Wait for me!"

Lin Baici shouted to Song Tian before dashing out of the hospital room.

"Baici!"

Song Tian’s voice quivered with excitement. The fact that the director hadn’t ordered the nurses to immediately throw her out the window meant the situation had taken a turn.

Lin Baici must have uncovered something crucial.

Keep going!

Lin Baici reached the locker room. It was still in its ransacked state, left unrepaired. He kicked the door open and barged in.

Sweeping his gaze across the lockers, he inhaled deeply. He didn’t even need to activate Divine Grace’s Sip of A Hundred Flavors ability—he could already smell that familiar perfume.

Taking a few large strides forward, Lin Baici grabbed the locker’s metal door and yanked it open.

Inside were stockings, lingerie, and handbags.

Lin Baici picked up a handbag and opened it, rummaging through its contents.

Nothing.

Out of caution, he checked it again to confirm there was nothing inside, then set it aside and turned to the lingerie and stockings.

These garments were thin and small—not ideal for hiding anything.

As the pile of clothes in the locker dwindled and Lin Baici still came up empty-handed, unease began to creep in.

Was his reasoning wrong?

No!

Impossible!

Lin Baici finished combing through the top section of the locker and found nothing. Crouching down, he picked up a pair of black pantyhose in his left hand, clenched it, and tugged the fabric through his fingers with his right hand.

Nothing was hidden inside.

Now, only three pairs of high heels remained.

Lin Baici grabbed a pair of black heels and examined them thoroughly. Finding nothing, he refused to give up and slid his fingers inside the shoe’s opening, feeling around.

There it was!

Lin Baici’s brows shot up. In the section of the shoe near where it cradled the top of the foot, his fingers brushed against a tiny wooden stick, about the size of a thumb.
