Chapter 1360: Chapter 592: Brother Lin, is your memory really that good? Photographic memory? _2

Cheng Si was nauseous to the extreme, but she didn’t dare move. She closed her eyes, adopting an ostrich mentality.

"They didn’t see me! They didn’t see me!"

Cheng Si prayed repeatedly in her heart.

All around her were living corpses,

how could she possibly escape?

The living corpses lowered their heads and turned the morgue drawers into dining tables, beginning to devour Cheng Si, eating her like a dinner meal.

"Ah!"

Unable to endure it, Cheng Si screamed miserably. She began to struggle, trying to escape, but it was useless — she was pinned down by over a dozen rotting arms and couldn’t even stand up.

"Big Cousin, please save me!"

Cheng Si wailed.

[There’s no saving her. If you don’t act according to the rules, there’s no way out!]

[If you go out to save her, you’ll be attacked endlessly by the living corpses until death!]

Eater God commented.

Peanut Butter, Tang Keke, and the others heard Cheng Si’s anguished screams and the sound of the living corpses eating. They were all so terrified that their teeth wouldn’t stop chattering, making rattling sounds.

It was entirely uncontrollable.

"Damn it, even if I have to be Lin Baici’s female slave, I want to live!"

Su Manni didn’t want to die.

She was still young, and hadn’t yet enjoyed life fully.

Just one minute later, Cheng Si went silent.

Lin Baici silently counted, and after 60 seconds, even the sounds of the living corpses chewing vanished, followed by their departing footsteps.

Soon, the morgue fell silent.

Out of caution, Lin Baici waited an additional 30 seconds before pressing his hands against the top of the morgue drawer and, with great force, pushed open the drawer lid.

The yellowish light was dim; the smell of blood hung in the air.

The living corpses had already left.

The door to the morgue had been smashed, and the frosted glass was shattered.

Lin Baici turned his head and saw one of the morgue cabinets left open. He craned his neck forward and looked inside, only to see a young woman lying in it.

Her body was torn apart by bites, with missing flesh and frayed tendons. One of her right legs dangled outside the cabinet, fresh blood dripping down from her toes.

Plak! Plak!

The woman was already dead, her dilated pupils seemingly reflecting the terrifying scene from moments ago.

"It’s temporarily safe. Come out!"

Lin Baici called out in a low voice, climbing out from the corpse bag.

Su Manni and the others gradually came out as well. The first thing they saw was Cheng Si, who had been bitten to death by the living corpses. They all couldn’t help but show a fox mourning the rabbit expression.

"Damn, what the hell is this place? How do we even get out of here?"

Batugel cursed, kicking a morgue cabinet hard to vent. Then he clutched his foot, hissing in pain.

He’d forgotten he wasn’t wearing shoes.

"Wasn’t it nothing even if you entered the wrong morgue cabinet not by name?"

The lover of attack speed shoes grumbled, "I got scared for nothing!"

"Better safe than sorry!"

Laughing Buddha felt that Lin Baici’s cautiousness was justified and decided to stay away from petty complainers — you could tell someone’s character from moments like these.

"Quick, start looking for clues!"

Lin Baici turned to Peanut Butter. "You’d best check your morgue cabinet!"

After speaking, Lin Baici ran ahead, and everyone hurriedly followed.

Peanut Butter stayed behind alone, feeling creeped out, so he ran after them.

When passing by Elder Zhou’s morgue room, there was no movement inside. Lin Baici didn’t bother to ask; he figured that the clue was likely among the garbage bags piled on the trash cart.

"Big Cousin, the elevator’s not working. Can’t we just use the stairway?"

The lover of attack speed shoes walked a few steps up the stairway and looked toward the upper levels.

"If you want to go, then go!"

Lin Baici responded indifferently.

Attack speed shoes hesitated for a moment, then turned around to call for others: "Anyone want to come up with me and check it out?"

Everyone remained unmoved and continued following Lin Baici.

"Mountain Chicken?"

Attack speed shoes called out.

"Not going!"

Mountain Chicken shook his head.

With no one accompanying him, attack speed shoes didn’t dare go alone and headed toward the parking garage instead.

"You two over here, start rummaging through the trash cans!"

Batugel threatened Licking Dog and Zhou Cheng: "Don’t make me hit you!"

Licking Dog and Zhou Cheng took out black trash bags, untied them, and dumped them on the ground.

Swoosh!

An overwhelming stench immediately spread across the air.

Leftovers, used medical tools, unidentified chunks of meat, and pools of blood spilled everywhere.

The smell was utterly revolting.

"Ugh!"

Zhou Cheng threw up.

Everyone else covered their noses and moved far away.

It was simply unbearable.

Leave the inspection to Lin Baici.

"It’s all just garbage here. What kind of clue could there be?"

Licking Dog, scared of being hit, hurried up his efforts in frustration. He untied the remaining trash bags and dumped their contents on the ground.

Soon, a small mountain of trash had formed.

"Big Cousin, why don’t you go check the door at the end of the hallway on the opposite side?"

Big Sweet Sister suggested, "Didn’t you grab three keys earlier? I think one of them must open that door!"

Lin Baici glanced at the trash heap, then raised his head to scan the surroundings.

Judging by its game-like tendencies, the God seemed to have a penchant for creating rules akin to levels in a game, complete with clues to find tools or pass through obstacles.

There were plenty of cars in the parking lot, but they were all of similar make. It’s not practical to conduct a carpet search, is it?

That would be way too low-grade!

Lin Baici’s gaze returned to the trash pile, then walked over to the trash cart’s driver’s seat, opened the door, and climbed inside.

The cabin reeked of cigarette smoke and sweat.

On the dashboard sat a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

Lin Baici opened the glove compartment and found a driver’s license and a work ID.

"Any clues?"

Big Sweet Sister leaned against the car door, asking.

"None yet!"

Lin Baici took the items he found and returned to the trash heap.

"You’ve got cigarettes?"

Zheng Yu Huang, craving for nicotine, asked, "Give me one!"
