Chapter 1348: Chapter 589: You’re So Good at Fighting, Why Didn’t You Say Sooner?_2

Whizz!

Su Manni turned around and bolted.

Say what you will, but those long legs sure made her fast.

The zombie-like man charged forward, opening his wide mouth, roaring, and reaching to grab Lin Baici’s neck with his hands.

"Aaaah!"

Big Sweet Sister screamed. She even saw the maggots squirming inside the zombie man’s mouth.

Lin Baici took a step forward with his left foot, twisted his waist, swung his arm, and clenched his right fist. Like a battering ram, his punch slammed into the zombie man’s jaw!

Bang!

The zombie man was sent flying backward, as if hit by a full-speed dump truck.

Bang!

The zombie man crashed onto the ground. The impact shook loose a considerable number of white maggots from his body.

The entire scene froze, as if someone had hit pause. Silence enveloped everything.

Nobody could have imagined that Lin Baici’s punch would pack such an extraordinary amount of power.

Batugel stood there, mouth agape. He had practiced wrestling, so he knew just how terrifyingly strong you’d have to be to send a grown man flying like that.

Damn it!

Did I really just challenge him earlier?

Batugel’s lips twitched as he realized the trouble he might be in now.

Big Sweet Sister stood frozen at first, then immediately erupted with joy.

Big Cousin is actually this strong?

She was the closest and had the clearest view. Big Cousin’s punch had shattered the zombie man’s jaw along with half of his cheek, and teeth were now scattered everywhere.

Whizz!

Big Sweet Sister immediately moved to Lin Baici’s side.

She regretted hesitating earlier. If she’d stood by Lin Baici from the start, how much more would that have earned her points?

She’d surely have upgraded to teammate status instantly!

Tang Keke and Peanut Butter exchanged glances.

They wanted to cry!

Why did I run away?

But really, it was just too terrifying!

"Brother Lin, you..."

Su Manni grumbled, feeling like Lin Baici was messing with them. If he was this capable, why didn’t he say so earlier?

"What about me?"

Lin Baici countered, glancing at the back of his hand. Even though it hadn’t gotten dirty, having fought the zombie still left him disgusted.

So, quite casually, he wiped his hand on Big Sweet Sister’s chest.

"Huh?"

Big Sweet Sister froze for a moment, then immediately yelped, "Aaaaah!"

Those hands had touched the zombie man! Gross!

But just as she let out the scream, her high emotional intelligence kicked in, prompting her to immediately shut her mouth, squeeze out a smile, and even puff out her chest slightly.

Making it easier for Lin Baici to wipe his hand.

"Not gross?"

Lin Baici teased, knowingly poking at her little scheme to latch onto him for survival.

He understood.

So wiping his hands? Not an issue!

"No, not gross at all!"

Big Sweet Sister forced a smile, even grabbing Lin Baici’s hand and pressing it onto her chest.

Lin Baici pulled his hand back: "Listen to me, and you’ll have a good chance of surviving!"

"Mhm, mhm!"

Big Sweet Sister nodded repeatedly: "I’m besties with Small Fish!"

"It’s not dead yet!"

The previously relaxed atmosphere grew tense again because of that one sentence.

Everyone turned to look at the zombie man. It had sat back up, shook its head and, after standing, lunged toward Lin Baici.

Its jaw had been smashed, but it wasn’t affected in the slightest.

Pain receptors? It certainly didn’t have those anymore.

This time, Lin Baici didn’t wait around. He approached the zombie man, spun around, and whipped his leg like a steel rod, striking the zombie’s head.

Bang!

The zombie man flew backward, crashing into a nearby cold storage corpse cabinet, before sliding down onto the floor.

Lin Baici didn’t attack further and instead dashed toward the cold storage cabinet the zombie had emerged from.

"Keep hitting it! It’s still alive!"

The guy who loved wearing attack speed shoes shouted.

"And who do you think you are? What gives you the right to boss Brother Lin around?"

Su Manni snapped back.

"A group of useless cowards!"

Big Sweet Sister exclaimed upon seeing the zombie man sprawled on the ground. This was clearly a golden opportunity to attack it further, yet no one acted— not even the hulking figure of Batugel, as strong as an ox.

Lin Baici rifled through the corpse bag and found nothing. He turned to examine the cabinet and discovered two sections of finger-thick hemp rope tucked in the back.

He grabbed them, stretched them out to test their flexibility, and then ran toward the zombie man, delivering a flying kick.

The zombie man, just barely getting to its feet, took the full brunt of the kick to its face and fell back down.

"Someone come help!"

Lin Baici rushed to the zombie man’s side, held back his disgust, grabbed its arm, and started tying it up with the hemp rope.

No one moved.

Big Sweet Sister hesitated briefly, then mustered her courage and ran over.

"Augh—blegh!"

The zombie man thrashed, stretching its neck out in an attempt to bite Lin Baici.

Big Sweet Sister, who had just squatted down near it, jumped away in terror.

Bang!

Lin Baici punched the zombie man square on the head, swiftly tying up its legs.

"Durian, Pheasant, you two, come over here!"

Lin Baici called out names.

They pretended not to hear and lowered their heads.

"Useless!"

Lin Baici didn’t want to touch the zombie man any longer—it was far too filthy—and he figured the corpse bag would be useful as well. So he went back to the cold storage cabinet, retrieved the corpse bag, and slid it over the zombie man.

The zombie man struggled even more violently.

Rippp!

Lin Baici zipped the bag up, dragged the zombie man back to the corpse cabinet, then shoved it inside, using force to push the cabinet shut.

Thump thump! Thump thump!

The metallic banging noises continued to echo, but after seven or eight seconds, they stopped.

"Is it done?"

Big Sweet Sister’s expression lit up with delight.

"Big Cousin, you’re amazing!"

"So fierce!"

"A real man. Just looking at that thing makes me terrified, but Big Cousin is so bold!"

Everyone chimed in with compliments.

Suddenly, two thuds sounded, causing everyone to shudder and shut their mouths.

"It’s not in that cabinet!"

Big Sweet Sister listened closely, then pointed with her hand: "It’s over there!"
