Chapter 1222: Chapter 560: As soon as I arrived, I saw the monitor hitting Lai Fu again!

The rule behind the birth of Taboo things is still not entirely summarized by major organizations; they only know that the longer an item is exposed to the radiation from God’s bones, the greater the chance it becomes a Taboo thing.

When a meteor falls, it brings with it God’s bones, forming God’s ruins.

Generally speaking, the size of God’s ruins varies, but they contain many items. Some become Taboo things, while others do not, and the level of rule pollution they cause is also different.

Some God’s ruins have been purified, and some items within, although not initially Taboo things, could become one after a few years.

Some God Hunters who dare not enter the ruins secretly venture into these places to ’pick up trash’ and search for Taboo things, hoping to strike it rich if they find one.

Lin Baici does not know where the Taboo thing in the boys’ dormitory came from, but feeling hungry, he is sure that there is at least one inside the building, and at least a minor treasure; otherwise, he wouldn’t feel this hunger.

"What’s wrong?"

Hu Wenwu saw Lin Baici standing at the entrance, suddenly not moving.

"It’s nothing. Could you go buy a pack of cigarettes for me?"

Lin Baici sent Hu Wenwu a red packet, trying to send him away, not knowing how long the Taboo thing had been there. Could it cause an outbreak of pollution?

"Oh!"

Hu Wenwu, always a good-natured man, would comply with any requests.

"Buy Zhonghua. Go to the Yonghui Supermarket outside the campus. The shops inside might pass off fakes that would rip you off!" Lin Baici was just making an excuse to get Hu Wenwu to go further and stay outside longer: "And get two milk teas."

"Oh!"

Haijing Polytechnic is quite large, and walking to and from to buy cigarettes could take half an hour, but Hu Wenwu didn’t say anything. Even though Lin Baici hadn’t been staying in the dormitory for a long time, he remembered how Lin Baici had taken care of him when school just started.

And to be honest, out of everyone in the dormitory, Hu Wenwu had the best impression of Lin Baici.

Liu Yu and Xu Daguan looked down on him; he could feel it. Qian Jiahui treated everyone equally, but Hu Wenwu did not want to interact with Qian Jiahui, or perhaps it was more about feeling inferior.

As for Fang Mingyuan, he was an athlete, and everyone had different hobbies; simply put, they couldn’t get along in play.

Only Lin Baici made Hu Wenwu feel ordinary and approachable.

"No rush!"

Lin Baici waited until Hu Wenwu left, his right hand in his pocket, not going upstairs, but strolling down the corridor on the ground floor, observing the dormitories.

Because he was at school, Lin Baici could neither carry a torch nor a wrench; it would be hard to explain if the dorm manager auntie saw him, which would be troublesome.

"I hope I can find it today!"

Lin Baici prayed.

...

10th floor, Dorm 1012.

The door was tightly closed; the already small dorm room was crammed with people.

Drawing the curtains during the day caused the room to be dark, with only the flickering light from computer screens, casting pale reflections on the faces of some people huddled in front of them, making them look ghostly.

Despite the crowd, no one spoke. There were only the sounds of breathing, the intermittent glow of cigarette butts, and the engulfing smoke, which made the place look like Hell at a glance.

A PS5 stood silently on the table, in operation.

A tall student sat in front of the monitor, eyes wide with addiction.

He was playing an RPG, handling a remote that controlled a barbarian warrior fighting a BOSS. Both he and the BOSS were on their last slivers of health.

Suddenly, the BOSS unleashed a wide-range ultimate skill. The student didn’t dodge in time, and the barbarian was taken down, turning the screen instantly gray.

Game Over!

"Damn!"

The student punched the table.

"My turn now!"

A guy with nest-like hair, obviously not washed for several days, immediately stood up, rushing next to the student, reaching out to snatch the controller.

"Let me play one more time!"

The student pleaded, "I was so close; I’ll definitely get through this time!"

"It’s my turn!"

The nest-haired guy shouted.

"You can’t get past it; let me do it!"

The student didn’t let go and promptly hit restart, emerging from the respawn point and beginning to run through the map.

"Damn Zheng Chuyang, give me the controller!"

The nest-haired guy started cursing, "We agreed on one life per person!"

"Are you deaf? I said you can’t make it," Zheng Chuyang said, his eyes bloodshot, still fiercely focusing on the screen and tightly gripping the controller.

"Zheng Chuyang, make some room!"

Xu Daguan urged, as it was his turn after nest hair was finished.

"If you keep this up, you’ll lose your right to play!"

"Don’t waste everyone’s time!"

"Move over, quick!"

The group was cursing and urging Zheng Chuyang to step aside quickly.

"Damn, this is my PS5. None of you play, all of you get out!"

Zheng Chuyang roared, "Get out!"

"Who says it’s yours? Did I agree?"

"I play the best, this console is mine!"

"Damn, if you’re not playing then get lost — stop whining!"

The group was full of malevolence, as being cooped up there for several days left no one in a good state.

Seeing Zheng Chuyang not letting go, nest hair suddenly swung fists at Zheng Chuyang’s head with a bam bam.

Zheng Chuyang swayed and toppled to the side but still did not release the controller. Nest hair grabbed a cup from the table and pounced toward Zheng Chuyang, smashing it down towards his head.

"Give me the controller!"

Nest hair yelled.

"Go to hell!"

Zheng Chuyang’s eyes reddened even more, his right foot kicked out like a rabbit, hitting nest hair’s stomach.

Bang!

Nest hair fell backward, crashing into the student behind him.
