Chapter 94 - 88 Discharge
Chapter 94: Chapter 88 Discharge
[Fifth Hospital - Comprehensive Building, Third Floor]
Screams of agony from a man emanated from the Dean’s Office, echoing down the entire corridor.
There was no pattern, only screams,
and the cleaning lady who had planned to clean the Dean’s Office could only temporarily leave, feeling that listening too long might lead to strange associations.
Inside the office,
the Dean had already locked the door,
his face full of worry, constantly clutching his bald head; if he had any hair, he probably would have ripped it all out by now.
He had been acquainted with Luo Di for some time, but Luo Di’s behavior upon entering the office today was unprecedented and even stranger than before.
Shortly after entering, Luo Di removed his jacket, revealing his entire bionic left arm.
Initially, the Dean thought he wanted something, so he tried offering the following items:
1. An arm disassembled from a 1:1 human body model in the office.
2. A stethoscope with a long flexible tube structure.
3. A handmade object from a patient discharged a few days ago, a caterpillar crafted from iron wire.
After placing these three items in succession, Luo Di’s left hand did not lower; instead, he began to scream heart-wrenchingly, louder than ever before.
The Dean was so shaken by the screams that his scalp tingled,
He had intended to call a doctor for a consultation, but considering Luo Di had emphasized not to involve anyone during their discussions, the Dean endured it.
As time ticked by, Luo Di’s screams showed no sign of stopping.
The Dean also faintly noticed something squirming underneath the skin of the raised left arm.
Seeing this, the Dean recalled some massage techniques learned during his younger days in medical school and tried massaging Luo Di’s left arm, hoping to alleviate some of the pain.
After a straightforward massage session, the screaming continued but seemed to lessen.
Seeing that it really worked, the Dean fully focused, as if he was truly back in his younger days, earnestly massaging the entire left arm.
As the massage progressed, the Dean began to notice some issues.
Initially, he could feel hard lumps beneath the surface of the bionic arm, similar to metallic tissues, but after over ten minutes of massage, these hard lumps became fewer and the texture increasingly resembled real flesh and blood.
Suddenly...
Swoosh!
The Dean’s finger, used in the massage, got cut by something, blood gushing out, some even dripping onto Luo Di’s bionic left arm.
"Wow! What’s that?"
The Dean looked at his cut finger, thankful that the wound was not too deep, not a significant problem.
When he looked up again at Luo Di’s left arm, he found no sharp objects there. Strangely, the blood that dripped seemed to have vanished, as if absorbed by the arm.
Simultaneously,
Luo Di stopped screaming, his left arm gradually relaxed, slipping back into his sleeve.
His bewildered eyes gradually regained focus, his thoughts returning to reality.
Luo Di, full of disbelief, was about to carefully examine his left arm when... Buzz! A strong ringing in his ears swept over.
Suddenly, he collapsed to the floor, unconscious. The Dean decisively called for a doctor and then, using his own sixty-odd-year-old body, carried the young man to the elevator entrance to shorten the treatment process as much as possible.
After a series of checks, Luo Di had merely fainted from exhaustion and only needed some rest to recover; he was placed in a general ward with a glucose drip set up.
The Dean accompanied him throughout the entire examination process, only reassured once sure that Luo Di was alright.
The medical staff intended to transfer the unconscious Luo Di to the bed, which required removing his backpack.
Strangely, even in an unconscious state, Luo Di would react if anyone tried to take the backpack, attempting to push people away and even showing aggressive tendencies.
Seeing this, the Dean immediately told them to stop and settled for letting Luo Di receive his drip while seated.
The Dean could not help but wonder about the contents of the backpack but curbed his curiosity, warning everyone present not to touch the backpack.
After Luo Di’s affairs were settled, a meticulous nurse noticed that the Dean’s right hand, dangling at his pant leg, seemed to be still bleeding. Although it took several seconds for a drop of blood to fall, it never stopped.
She promptly went forward to assist using the medical tools she carried.
"Dean, what is this thing inside your finger?"
During the disinfection process, the nurse actually used tweezers to pull out a very thin piece of iron wire, which was the cause of the incessant bleeding.
The Dean looked at the thin and hot iron wire, feeling very familiar with it, and put it into his own pocket, "Accidentally cut myself, it’s nothing! Alright, let everyone stop bothering him.
The nurse in charge of surveillance remembered to check the ward every so often, and if there was nothing wrong, try not to touch him.
I’m going to rest now."
"Dean, take care!"
The on-duty nurse could directly observe the condition of the ward through the cameras at the nurse station, and Luo Di was in good condition.
However, just half an hour later, the monitor in Luo Di’s ward malfunctioned, and the screen was all snowy dots.
The nurse immediately called the hospital’s maintenance staff; afterward, she went alone to check on the situation to ensure Luo Di’s infusion was ongoing.
When she used her key card to open the door of the ward,
Hiss!
Her finger holding the key card was cut, and some irregular hook-shaped objects sprang out from the door seam.
The nurse hadn’t even had time to check her finger when she was stunned by the scene inside the ward.
Originally a simple and spacious ward had, unknowingly, been filled with thin, long iron wires everywhere, making it hard to find a gap large enough for a person to pass through without getting scraped by the wires.
Moreover, rust-streaked animal traps were scattered on the floor,
And what caused her finger to be cut was a hook mechanism set between the door locks, although not fatal, it was quite uncomfortable.
It was just like a trap room set by a deranged criminal in a horror movie.
Just as the nurse was at a loss,
Luo Di, sitting deep in the room, woke up, his eyes covered in darkness, which scared the nurse into retreating two steps and sitting down on the floor.
Coincidentally, the maintenance worker arrived at that moment and helped the nurse up from the ground.
Just as she was about to convey the terrifying situation in the ward, the young man inside had already walked out, his eyes returning to normal.
And the ward he had stayed in was spotlessly clean, devoid of any iron wires and animal traps, and there were no hook mechanisms on the door locks, as if the nurse had seen it wrong.
However, when the technician was fixing the camera inside the ward, he accidentally found an unnecessary piece of iron wire from between the cables, which had caused the short circuit.
...
Successfully discharged,
Before leaving the hospital, Luo Di specifically went to the Dean’s Office to express his gratitude and also mentioned that he would not be coming back for a while.
"Alright, if you need anything in the future, just come over to our Fifth Hospital. I’m used to it by now. Occasionally being tormented by you somehow makes me feel younger.
By the way! Just now, there was a phone call from the gatehouse, saying that a friend of yours came all the way from out of town to find you. Considering that you were about to be discharged, we didn’t let her in. She is currently waiting at the hospital gatekeeper.
Your discharge procedures have already been handled; go on and live well after you leave, and talk more with your friends."
"Thank you, Dean."
Luo Di did not ask who exactly it was, for there weren’t many who could be called his "friend."
Holding his backpack tightly,
He walked out of the hospital,
And even before reaching the main gate, he had already seen a familiar figure, fully-armed security guards appearing somewhat shorter beside this person.
The person seemed to have seen Luo Di too, waving a strong and powerful arm.
"Did you grow a bit taller?"
Dressed in a white bear-print T-shirt and oversized jeans, with shoulder-length blonde hair and almost 188cm tall, Anna had actually come here.
When she saw Luo Di,
Although her pupils were filled with joy, they also contained a hint of impurities.
