Chapter 156: Chapter 150 Interview
Luo Di clearly heard the sound of a body exploding, but upon entering the Ritual Room, there was no sight of any related scene.
Not only that,
The originally unadorned and muddy Ritual Room had changed its appearance, turning into a structure similar to the adjacent Hall, with spotless white floor tiles covering the ground, without a speck of bloodstain.
Two chairs were placed opposite each other in front of the fireplace,
It felt less like an assessment and more like an interview.
When Luo Di entered, he did not address his grandmother, but maintained Mr.D’s characteristic of not being talkative, simply nodding in the direction of his grandmother.
After seeing what seemed to be a gesture of beckoning from his grandmother’s silhouette behind the hat veil, Luo Di walked straight to the chair meant for him to sit in.
As soon as he sat down,
the chair that seemed of regular size began to feel as though it was endlessly enlarging,
or rather, it was Luo Di himself who was shrinking,
until his body seemed completely trapped within it, as if imprisoned upon a platform.
The grandmother sitting opposite became even more gigantic, obscuring the view entirely, and the oppressive sensation of something colossal was suffocating.
Across the veil of the hat,
looking again at the outline of his grandmother’s body,
it no longer seemed human, but an indescribable, pure monster...
The emotion known as [Fear] began to spread within Luo Di.
However,
Luo Di’s obsession with the Murderer was beyond imagination; feeling even a slight spread of fear within him, he developed strong repulsive and aversive emotions.
The feeling of Fear was not allowed to exist in him,
the eyes beneath that mask instantly filled with bloodshot veins, a Red Vein Through the Eye.
The fear within was being erased bit by bit,
The oppressive sensation from his grandmother, the anomaly in the surroundings, gradually disappeared without a trace.
Buzz! A ringing in the ears, and everything returned to normal.
Luo Di was sitting in his seat as a guest, and the grandmother sitting opposite was simply a larger than average figure, what could be glimpsed through the hat veil was just an elegant and graceful human silhouette.
Mature and full-bodied words emanated from beneath the hat veil.
"I never expected Isabella, the granddaughter I once thought least of, to find such an excellent partner like you.
That’s good too, if you two can achieve high-compatible Fusion, Isabella might further elevate herself, and you too could gain substantial improvements.
I also noticed her significant progress this past year, she has basically caught up with the standards of her sisters.
However, before formally accepting you, I still have one last question for you."
Although the grandmother had spoken these words, her question was slow in coming.
As Luo Di waited for the question,
the veil in front of the grandmother was slowly lifted,
a hand as white as snow extended,
completely that of a human female,
at the moment showing no anomalies.
But as this arm stretched out gradually and neared Luo Di, a mysterious atmosphere also arose.
The seats between them were about three meters apart.
Without changing her seated posture, the grandmother’s arm kept extending outwards, stopping only when it reached in front of Luo Di.
It seemed this distance was not yet the limit of the arm’s elongation.
"Don’t be nervous, just one question."
The palm opened up,
a Huge palm that could entirely grasp Luo Di’s face,
as the palm drew near,
though Luo Di was ostensibly wearing a mask, the grandmother’s palm penetrated it as if through liquid, directly pinching his skin.
It even felt like the hand could continue through skin and skull to squeeze the brain inside.
And so,
maintaining the grip on his face, the grandmother threw out the final question, which would determine whether Luo Di would be recognized by the sisterhood as an official partner.
"Tell me, besides becoming her [partner], do you have any other purpose in getting close to Isabella? Or do you have a different intent toward the sisterhood?
You just need to answer ’yes’ or ’no’."
Luo Di’s instinct was to say "no".
After all, the monitor had set up Disguise in his brain, assuming the grandmother didn’t see through it, he was then completely loyal to Isabella, with no other purposes.
But the words he was about to say were instinctively stopped by his tongue.
Intuition told Luo Di that to directly deny had a high chance of immediate exposure, and his brain would be crushed in an instant.
Because of the current hesitation, Luo Di missed the best moment to reply, and any later response would likely arouse his grandmother’s suspicion.
What to do?
How exactly to break through this situation?
Answer yes or no?
A myriad of thoughts whirled in his mind, and it seemed his grandmother’s patience was reaching its limit.
Click!
His tongue felt the lethal danger as it was violently slapped inside his mouth.
The crisp sound of it echoing inside his skull shook his brain tissues, calming Luo Di down, reminding him of Mr. Hook’s teachings. He decided to take a desperate gamble.
"Yes."
His grandmother was somewhat surprised by such an answer and the grip on Luo Di’s face slightly loosened.
"No wonder you hesitated so long before speaking; so you do have underlying purposes, huh? Tell me more."
Luo Di opened his mouth wide beneath the mask, letting hooks that pierced through his lips bring as much pain to flood his brain, immersing himself in the suffering.
"Suffering... The reason I was willing to accept Isabella’s invitation, apart from male-female relations, was to gain more suffering through her."
His grandmother looked at the design of the mouth area of the mask, feeling the intense pain Luo Di was currently enduring in his brain, which piqued her interest a bit,
"Suffering? Interesting.
I can feel that your body really seems to enjoy the pain.
This is the first time I’ve come across a male human like you. If you understand pain so well, you should also know how to inflict it on others, right?
Let me have a taste, shall we? Try to inflict pain on this arm of mine!
If it’s interesting, then we’ll head straight to the Banquet Hall to prepare for tonight’s banquet. If I don’t feel any pain at all, it means you are lying to me, and the consequences will be very severe."
"Any method will do?"
"Anything goes. You can cut it or break it, but I assume you won’t use such basic forms of traumatic pain, right? Hope you don’t disappoint me, come here!"
The hand grasping Luo Di’s head slowly receded, shrinking back to the size of a regular arm,
Only revealing her forearm outside the cloak, beckoning Luo Di with a gentle curl of her fingers.
Since the toughest question-and-answer section was over, Luo Di was no longer nervous.
He stood up to meet his grandmother’s demand with a very gentlemanly gesture and took hold of her hand.
Inflicting pain was somewhat troublesome,
Since Luo Di was currently in disguise, he couldn’t use any powers from Hell, let alone the Punishment Room Left Arm.
He had to resort to other means to generate "suffering."
If this were a week ago, Luo Di certainly couldn’t have done it,
Unfortunately for him, he had just finished a grueling four-day non-stop Pain Training session with Mr. Hook.
Not only had Luo Di drawn nourishment from it, but he also learned some professional techniques capable of creating instant intense pain from Hook.
These techniques were supposed to be applied on Luo Di himself, to temporarily restrain his subconscious murderous urges, thus severing the connection with the Hell Battlefield.
The techniques didn’t entirely require Hell powers, and Luo Di’s right hand, implanted with a pituitary, could also do the job.
Swish!
His sharp nails swiftly pierced through his grandmother’s hand.
Hmm? She was somewhat disappointed, as this level of pain barely qualified as an itch, but since he wasn’t finished yet, she waited patiently.
In her eyes, even if a human was impressive, at most he would cause her a slight pain, reaching the effect of a bite would be sufficient.
The next second.
She felt his fingers seemingly become something different, like two agile serpents burrowing through the wound on the back of her hand, becoming finer and deeper.
"Oh, a Seed Demon?"
Just as his grandmother grew curious,
The two slender, flexible fingers pinched a special tendon at a gap in her hand bones, also at a particular acupuncture point.
As the fingers rhythmically squeezed, her grandmother’s attention gradually focused on the sensation, as if she was undergoing a pleasant subcutaneous massage. The pain was minimal, overshadowed by a sense of comfort.
Just when she began to enjoy this special massage,
Luo Di’s gaze shifted, and his entire body exerted force! He clenched the tendon and yanked it outwards!
Swish!
The skin tore,
The tendon that was buried within flesh, nestled between bones, hidden under the skin, was yanked out all the way up to the shoulder.
The initial comfort was twisted 180° into an acute, utter agony.
All the pain concentrated and burst in that instant...
[Banquet Hall]
The sisters who were preparing the dishes faintly heard a series of strange moans. Uncertain of their origin, they couldn’t pinpoint where they were coming from.
