Chapter 4750: Chapter 3823: The School Doctor’s "Daily Routine" (Part 1)
The school hospital of Ilvermorny Magic School is located on the second floor of the school, almost occupying the entire east side of the floor, with four wards, two examination rooms, two consultation rooms, and a doctor’s office. It can be said to be fully equipped.
The decor style of the school hospital is consistent with the school’s overall style, which is a very luxurious Middle Ages mystical Gothic castle style, shortened to "Arrogant Happy Style."
As for whether Greed likes this style—if Magic didn’t exist, he would definitely not make his office this style. Because just maintaining and cleaning would cost a fortune, and it might not be entirely clean. Some natural materials decay quickly, requiring renovation every few years. It’s not like building an office for himself; it’s like finding himself a demanding chore. Even if it didn’t cost him anything, he wouldn’t make it like this.
However, due to the existence of Magic, maintenance and cleaning are completely fine, and Shiller doesn’t need to lift a finger. The office is spotless and beautiful every day, making him far more receptive to this style.
When Shiller moved into the office, he specifically called Wanda and Jarvis, so he didn’t need to move things or tidy up. Professor Wanda, who is enthusiastic about housework, would manage the place very well.
Because he needed to prepare for the welcome activities, Shiller didn’t immediately go to his office. When he returned after completing the arrangements in the grand hall, everything was organized.
As he pushed open the crystal door engraved with intricate constellation patterns, a beautiful Gothic-style office appeared before him. The room was predominantly deep brown, with the freshly waxed floor gleaming.
The office has two levels. The first level is divided into three areas by supporting decorative columns: both sides have pointed floor-to-ceiling windows, the central area features a huge desk with a whole row of bookshelves behind; the right side is the lounging area with sofas; the left side has various unusual magical items as decorations.
On both sides of the central area, there are spiral staircases leading upstairs. The second-level corridor is directly above the central area, with three doors above: the left is the archive room, the right is the private lounge area, and the middle is a bedroom for resting.
A huge magical chandelier hangs from the ceiling, composed of over 200 candles. The frame is flashing with golden Mithril, with many Magic Gems embedded on it. Various stellar and celestial lights continue to blink, with radiant meteor lights embellishing the scene.
The decoration area is even more dazzling: a globe that spins on its own, feather pens floating in mid-air, magic books that occasionally open and close, various crystal statues, and those trinkets Shiller collected before. Though piled somewhat messily, they effectively neutralize the stern and stifling atmosphere of the dark brown wood.
Although Shiller’s office is somewhat larger than others, it is relatively simple in decoration. Strange’s principal office is far more luxurious than The Sanctum, with treasures from the Magic realm all moved there. Even for someone completely unfamiliar with Magic, the sight upon entering would be awe-inspiring.
As for ordinary professors like Wanda, their offices are similarly extremely luxurious. With a full Magic ambiance, they’re meant to showcase the prowess of their universe to students coming from various Multiverses.
And as the main focus, the grand hall certainly can’t be shabby. After the movie screening, the design further incorporated the opinions of professional film critics and interior designers; it’s now lavish beyond the imagination of the human race.
Even so, before the freshmen arrive, they’ve refurbished and arranged to make the grand hall look even more solemn and majestic.
The professors’ attire is also quite elaborate, with almost everyone having a luxurious Mage Robe. The material used is the Ancient One’s favorite Chinese silk, with patterns and designs embroidered using Magic Silk Thread, glittering with various splendid lights and even changing designs at will, looking very beautiful.
Many professors naturally wear the stereotypical Mage Hat—the pointed kind—and carry various Magic Wands, walking with flair, their robes gracefully fluttering, more magical than magic itself.
On the first day of school, the professors mostly chose relatively calm colors for their attire: Strange wore a dark green robe, Wanda a deep red one, while Shiller donned a sapphire-like deep blue one. But since he isn’t a professor, he didn’t wear the pointed hat.
The Batmen were brought by Lucifer, descending from above Massachusetts directly to the school’s grand hall entrance. Looking at the towering castle, the Big Adventure Universe Batman shook his head and exclaimed, "What a grand spectacle."
Lego Batman stood on his shoulder, the little stars in his eyes sparkling more and more. In his imagination, he was already wearing a Mage Robe, a pointed hat, holding a Magic Wand, and battling Evil Dragons for 300 rounds.
Lucifer was also coming here for the first time. Known for loving crowds, he agreed to help Shiller bring people over because Shiller promised him a stint as a professor.
Of course, he did so before knowing the Batmen were coming to school. Had he known Shiller went crazy enough to bring so many Batmen, including Bruce who was a headache for Michael and Uriel, Lucifer would have surely sprinted away.
But having already agreed, he had to bite the bullet and go through with it. Lucifer looked down at his Mage Robe for self-comfort, reassuring himself that he was only a guest professor; whatever chaos the Batmen stir can’t be blamed on him.
"Alright." He stood at the entrance of the grand hall and said, "Everyone line up in four rows, arranged by grade from low to high. Check your appearance; the sorting ceremony is about to start."
This cohort of students is indeed quite large, altogether close to a thousand people. In fact, there aren’t really many little children because, after the spiritual energy recovery, many adults discovered their Magic Talent, like Gwen; they are the main force of this year’s freshmen. So even among the adult Batmen, they don’t seem particularly out of place.
Lucifer, following the script, waved his hand and changed everyone’s attire to the school uniform. The uniform is also a Mage Robe, currently black, which will change to different colors after sorting and then they’ll receive the corresponding academy’s Mage Hat.
"Which academy do you think you’ll be sorted into?" Lego Batman tapped Big Adventure Batman’s ear and said, "I think I’ll definitely be sorted into the strongest and become a renowned Great Mage."
"Which academy do you think is the strongest?" Big Adventure Batman retorted.
"Uh... what kind of academies are there?"
"Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune."
"...What?"
Big Adventure Batman said a bit helplessly, "If you can’t remember the names, then remember the colors: gold, white, brown, and blue. They correspond to business college, literature and arts college, engineering college, and... sports college? Or perhaps it’s better to say Battle Academy."
"Then I’m definitely going to Battle Academy!" Lego Batman made a boxing gesture, followed by a spinning kick, confidently patting his chest, "I’ll wield my magic wand and knock down all those monsters daring to invade Earth!"
Big Adventure Batman chuckled. Lego Batman asked him, "Which academy do you most want to go to?" Then he said somewhat nervously, "You don’t want to go to Battle Academy too, do you? I think... sometimes there’s no need for all the fighting..."
"I’d rather go to the Literature and Arts College." Big Adventure Batman answered truthfully, "I don’t really expect to truly learn magic; I’m more interested in delving into the principles of this universe’s magic, gaining some genuine knowledge in mysticism, which might also connect with the magic theories from my universe."
"That’s so boring." Lego Batman said with a pout, "Studying those profound hefty volumes all day is extremely dull. When you go back, if Robin asks you ’How’s your magic studies going?’ are you going to tell them you’ve been soaking in the library all day?"
"You’re right," Big Adventure Batman said, "But getting into a particular academy doesn’t mean you can only do those things. If there’s an opportunity to learn some fighting, I wouldn’t turn it down either."
The Night Owl was standing together with Bruce. As they walked into the hall, he whispered, "Are you still hanging out with that dull and boring guy?"
Bruce looked at him and said, "Are you talking about yourself?"
"I’m talking about that Batman who most resembles Batman. Haven’t you been with him lately?"
"You know best who he’s been with lately." Bruce smiled at him and asked, "Which academy do you want to go to?"
"Saturn Academy. How about you? Do you like Neptune?"
"Perhaps I might choose Mercury and Venus instead?"
The Night Owl didn’t quite believe him. He glanced at the Primary Universe Batman standing aside with Arkham Batman, and said, "I bet both of them will choose Neptune. Who wouldn’t want to learn how to fight with magic?"
"Worried they’ll compete with you? But it doesn’t seem like there’s a limit on academy numbers?"
"I want to avoid those two. Do you know how the academy selection is done?"
"I don’t know." Bruce tidied his Mage Robe collar and said, "You aren’t really planning to attend classes seriously, are you? Opportunities to explore another vast world without Battleworld restrictions like this don’t come often."
The Night Owl’s eyes flickered and said, "You want to run off? The Supreme Magician won’t agree to that. We can’t beat him unless you have an insider."
"I do have." Bruce didn’t deny, and said, "But if you think he’d bail me out, you’re mistaken. He’s probably the most reluctant for us to roam around."
The Night Owl snorted softly and said nothing more. Nearby, Primary Universe Batman and Arkham Batman were also talking in whispers.
"That guy is hanging out with Night Owl again." Arkham Batman said, "I always feel like he’s up to no good."
"He’s always more sinister than you think. But if he’s targeting Night Owl, that’s good for us."
"Are you really intending to study here?" Arkham Batman asked again.
"Until we find a way against the Supreme Magician, we’re better off being obedient," Primary Universe Batman said, "I’ve once shared a body with someone in this universe. Stephen Strange is a very difficult guy to deal with; it’s hard to fool him under his watch."
"Difficult, but it means there’s still a chance?"
"Let’s get inside first."
