Chapter 112: Chapter 210 Ming Qi 2 Heavy, Immortality 3 Paths
"Da Lang, we’ve found Er Lang..." The cultivator who rushed in kept his head lowered, not daring to look at Su Yihong.
"Bring it forward."
Su Yihong’s expression showed no change, but those familiar with him could detect an irrepressible killing intent in his gaze.
The cultivator standing to the side waved his hand, and two trembling Powerful Warriors approached cautiously—one holding a broken corpse, the other carrying a severed head.
Su Yihong’s stare was as sharp as a blade, fixated on the head. Those around him felt a chill rise in their hearts. At this moment, only He Guo dared to speak. In a low voice, he said, "Da Lang, Er Lang and the others’ bodies are incomplete and bear evident tampering. It’s impossible to discern the weapon that caused these injuries."
Su Yihong let out a cold snort. "Has it been determined who escaped?"
He Guo replied in a solemn tone, "Zhang Yan."
The coldness in Su Yihong’s eyes intensified, compelling those around him to instinctively step back a few paces.
He Guo wore an expression of guilt and muttered in a subdued voice, "I seek Da Lang’s instruction—how should we handle this place?"
The Flying Tower had been destroyed by the Heart-Hitting Hammer. The marks were unmistakable—it was clear upon inspection that they belonged to He Guo’s Dharma Treasure. Given his close ties to the Su Family, the scene had to be cleaned thoroughly; otherwise, anyone could trace it back to the Su Family.
He Fang had stormed off wielding the hammer, yet his own life and death remained unknown. This outcome left He Guo feeling ashamed and unworthy of facing Su YiAng.
Lowering his head, Su Yihong glanced at the sea of shattered tiles and broken walls beneath his feet. Irritated, he waved his hand.
He Guo understood the gesture, sighed softly, then turned and instructed, "You all, as previously discussed, clean this place thoroughly. Make sure to arrange the Demon Cultivators’ bodies we prepared earlier—leave no room for error."
Though their intention all along had been to frame the Water Demons of Jiuquxi Palace, this was merely them proceeding with the prearranged plan. However, having suffered a covert loss, they still had to cover their tracks. This left everyone here feeling stifled and aggrieved.
Su Yihong turned his head and cast his gaze on a slim, pointy-featured cultivator resembling a dwarf. "Master Yang, I ask for your guidance: what should we do next?" Zhang Yan’s sudden move had already disrupted his original strategy, leaving him hesitant and undecided.
Master Yang tugged at his sparse and ragged beard, speaking slowly, "Da Lang, now is the time to leverage Er Lang’s death as a pretext and launch an immediate strike to seize the Deep Pool in one swift move."
Su Yihong furrowed his brow. "Using Er Lang’s death as a justification for war is a private cause, not a public one. It loses moral legitimacy, and the Sect Leader might cause trouble for the Su Family."
The Su Family wasn’t yet prepared for an outright conflict with the Mingcang Sect. Justifying their actions with personal vengeance would alienate both Ji Jiushang and the Mingcang Sect, resulting in repercussions that the Su Family alone would have to bear, inevitably incurring some loss of interest.
Master Yang’s expression turned serious. "Da Lang, taking the True Dragon Mansion now would immediately lay the foundation for the Su Family’s ascension. You would have the means to advance or retreat, with gains far outweighing losses. The bowstring is drawn, and there’s no turning back. Any hesitation now would be disastrous."
Su YiAng pondered for a moment, then slowly shook his head. "Although your reasoning is sound, you fail to consider that we can first capture the Deep Pool, then later fabricate a justification." After a slight pause, he called out, "He Guo!"
He Guo stepped forward and bowed. "Da Lang, just give the command!"
"Take a small squad and patrol around the Mingcang Sect. Over the next ten days, if you encounter any suspicious individuals approaching the Mountain Gate, eliminate them without hesitation!"
He Guo accepted the order with determination. "Understood!"
Su Yihong scanned the crowd. "Where is Miao Kun?"
"Here!" A stout, short cultivator stepped forth, his face adorned with a carefree grin, conspicuously at odds with the tense demeanor of the others.
Su Yihong gave him a look and frowned. "You have ten days as well. Take some men to scout in the direction of the Water Country. If you find him, kill him!"
Miao Kun lazily saluted, his grin unchanging. "Got it."
Having made the arrangements, Su Yihong ascended the Jade Stairs of the Golden Hall in one commanding step. His Kirin Cloak billowed behind him as he declared loudly, "The rest of you, follow me immediately to attack the Deep Pool and avenge Er Lang!"
The crowd roared in agreement. Dozens of beams of Xuan Guang lit up the sky, trailing the Golden Hall as they charged toward Jiuquxi Palace.
...
Three months later.
At the border of Dang Domain Water Country.
Zhang Yan’s sleeves fluttered as he glided on the wind. Two streams of energy revolved around him, clouds and mist surrounding him like an Immortal. Yet Luo Xiao, flying ahead of him, frequently turned back with an annoyed expression, remarking, "Daoist Zhang, your technique is too slow. Why don’t I carry you on Xuan Guang? We’d reach our destination in Water Country within a matter of days."
