Chapter 110: Chapter 19 Yiang Surrenders, He Fang Dies_2

Su YiAng exclaimed in terror, "Absolutely not! Absolutely not!"

As if anticipating this, Zhang Yan chuckled softly and said, "Oh? Why?"

"He Fang would never dare make decisions regarding me on his own. He will certainly report back to my elder brother. Once my brother finds out that my Primordial Spirit still exists, he will feel no pity for my plight. Instead, he will worry about the secrets of the Su Family being exposed and will undoubtedly do everything possible to ensure my death. Moreover, having ruined a significant family matter, according to family rules, my fate would be soul scattering."

Su YiAng kowtowed repeatedly within the jade, pleading, "I am now but a fragmented remnant of a Primordial Spirit. I beg Senior Brother to spare me. If Senior Brother has any questions, I will answer them truthfully without exception."

Though his cultivation was indeed lacking, his mind was sharp, and he knew how to assess the situation. If it were another person, they would have eagerly overstated their value by now. Furthermore, he didn’t believe Zhang Yan would consider letting him return, as that would undoubtedly be a fool’s dream.

Zhang Yan burst into laughter and said, "So, if I were to die, you wouldn’t live either?"

Su YiAng thought for a moment before replying dejectedly, "That is correct."

Zhang Yan nodded briefly and then shifted the conversation, asking, "What exactly is that Jade Pendant on your person?"

Su YiAng quickly replied, "That is the ’Fate Determining Jade Tablet,’ a gift from my elder brother. It can block three Dharma Treasures. After three uses, it requires refinement with Heart Blood Jade Liquid for eighty-one days to be usable again."

Zhang Yan uttered a simple "Hmm" and fell silent.

After a while, Su YiAng sneaked a glance at Zhang Yan and cautiously said, "There is one matter I hope Senior Brother will consider carefully."

Zhang Yan glanced at him and said, "Speak."

Su YiAng hesitated over how to phrase his words and then adopted an extremely humble demeanor as he said, "While He Fang currently follows us, if he suddenly acts on a whim and reports back to summon my elder brother, it would undoubtedly place Senior Brother in a perilous situation."

In truth, he believed he had to prove his usefulness to Zhang Yan. Only by showcasing his value could he avoid being discarded once he was no longer needed.

Zhang Yan nodded in agreement, saying, "Indeed, we cannot take this lightly. However, I can test this man’s intentions first and plan accordingly."

Su YiAng’s face lit up in surprise as he asked, "Oh? How does Senior Brother intend to test him?"

Zhang Yan smiled and said, "Just watch my methods."

He descended to the lowest level of the tower, waved a token to dispel the prohibition on the Seventh Realm, and casually threw out a Jade Pendant retrieved from his Sleeve Bag.

He Fang, who had been pondering ways to breach the prohibition, momentarily froze upon seeing one of the prohibitions open. He noticed an unfamiliar cultivator standing there, seemingly throwing something outside. Only then did he snap out of it and swung his Calming Hammer at the figure without hesitation.

Zhang Yan swiftly waved a hand to reseal the prohibition, causing the tower to tremble, yet he remained entirely unharmed.

He Fang internally puzzled over what had compelled the individual to risk danger by throwing something out. He hesitated momentarily, flashed his tunneling light to retrieve the object with Xuan Guang, and upon inspecting it, found it to be nothing more than useless jade. With a furrowed brow, he discarded it and resumed pursuit.

Before he could approach again, the prohibition opened once more. Zhang Yan smiled at him and threw another object down.

Suspicion clouded He Fang’s mind. "What is that? Could this person be mocking me?" He hovered briefly in mid-air, then clenched his teeth and turned back to retrieve the item. Upon inspection, it was yet another worthless piece of jade. Irritation rose within him, and he felt a near-uncontrollable urge to tear the other person apart.

As they continued moving, Zhang Yan repeatedly seized opportunities to toss objects downward. He Fang gritted his teeth, thinking, "The Mortal World’s military strategy advises, ’When false, present reality; when real, feign falsehood.’ You must be up to something with all this. I must uncover the truth!"

Thus, each time Zhang Yan threw something, He Fang went back to check, unwilling to miss even a single item.

After about a dozen such instances, Zhang Yan returned to the tower and remarked with a laugh, "I have figured out He Fang’s nature. This man is suspicious but lacks wisdom. He clings stubbornly to his beliefs and will not stop until he hits a wall. Therefore, we need not worry further."

Su YiAng, seeing how Zhang Yan baited He Fang to reveal his personality, felt a subtle sense of admiration and became even more eager to curry favor.

Zhang Yan gave him a faint glance and said, "Junior Su, I have a method to eliminate this man. If you are willing to assist me, I will select an excellent body for you in the future. What do you say?"

Without hesitation, Su YiAng replied, "I am willing to assist Senior Brother!" He had thought it through—putting Zhang Yan’s promise aside, given the current circumstances, Zhang Yan held all the power. Resisting or bargaining would only provoke dissatisfaction. Cooperation was his sole chance for survival.
