Chapter 450: Chapter 46: The Wedding Day_2

At the same time, they didn’t hold back in putting pressure on Gu Wen, and from start to finish, Gu Wen kept appeasing them.

The best leaders are not necessarily the strongest but are certainly the most emotionally stable, and that’s how Gu Wen secured his leadership position.

But how could they wake up Gu Wen?

His gaze swept over the others, with joy, anger, and sorrow being the strongest, followed by fear and disdain.

Normally, the person who tied the bell must be the one to untie it, and she shouldn’t interfere. But since Gu Wen had allowed her into the Gu Residence, it meant she was qualified to get involved.

As long as Gu Wen liked something, making him voluntarily give it up could do the trick.

Chi Yu Zi recalled the cultivation knowledge instilled in her from a young age, and the Cultivation World had always had many studies on how to resolve Heart Demons.

But she only remembered one phrase, "Slash the desires in your heart, eradicate the demons within."

But grandma here couldn’t defeat these demons of Gu Wen...

Chi Yu Zi scratched her head anxiously, and Mr. Gu reprimanded her somewhat displeasedly, "A lady should be more reserved."

Chi Yu Zi pouted, neither arguing nor responding.

This fellow was the pillar of the Gu family and the symbol of Gu Wen’s cultivation level. This was quite consistent with the characteristics of ordinary cultivators; cultivation is the foundation of everything.

But this couldn’t wake up Gu Wen either, because cultivation was neither harmful nor beneficial in this case.

All levels of cultivation and power are outwardly directed.

Chi Yu Zi’s gaze scanned the surroundings, finally settling on Gu Daxi.

Joy is what people favor and what they are good at.

Often, Heart Demons arise from malicious intent and should be resolved with good intentions.

She said, "Gu Daxi, you’ve spent many years never leaving the house, neither studying for the imperial examinations nor cultivating martial skills to shine, nor managing family wealth, how can you let yourself sink so low?"

Gu Daxi replied, "The matter of the examinations is left to the third brother, the second brother is unrivaled in martial arts, and the Gu family wealth is vast and need not be managed."

For Gu Wen, desire was the root; if he was not interested, then there was no necessity, a vast family fortune left unmanaged simply meant it was not beneficial.

"Moreover, recently, the sixth brother needs to prepare for his marriage; only by starting a family can he build a career."

Chi Yu Zi’s spirits lifted immediately, and she asked, "Who is it?"

"The eldest daughter of the Yu family, I’ve heard she’s from a prominent family outside the mainstream world, I do not know where father found her."

As Gu Daxi answered, Mr. Gu stroked his beard with a smile and said proudly, "If the sixth son wishes, I could even bring the empress here for him."

It was Yu Hua.

Chi Yu Zi immediately guessed her name, she had noticed her back in the Immortal Lands, and it seemed the feelings between the two were mutual.

However, due to the urgent situation, they had not pierced through the last veil. She wondered if anything had happened while Yu Hua was entering and exiting the Immortal Land during that time?

Now it seems that Yu Hua was Gu Wen’s Heart Demon.

Chi Yu Zi asked, "Do you know where the Yu family currently is?"

Gu Daxi shook his head, "We do not know, perhaps father does?"

"The Yu family has no fixed residence; they roam outside the societal norms, surviving on air and dew, they cannot be found," Mr. Gu said with a beaming smile, "When the big wedding comes in three months, you will know."

Chi Yu Zi made a note of it; she planned to erupt with murderous intent at that time.

As long as this fake Yu Hua died, Gu Wen would naturally wake up. Otherwise, she really couldn’t think of any other way, and she also feared that if Gu Wen and Yu Hua were to marry, he would be completely ensnared.

Then he would truly become a Bald Donkey.

Chi Yu Zi firmly settled in the Gu Residence, spending her days eating and drinking with Gu Wen while also observing him.

She noticed that Gu Wen had a very fixed routine, aside from eating and sleeping, he sat in meditation. Only when his ’brothers’ sought him out did any additional changes occur.

Gu Daxi was always discussing the wedding with him, which was joy. Gu Wuzeng was very opposed to the marriage, continually advising Gu Wen to refuse.

But whether it was joy or disdain, Gu Wen remained extremely indifferent, as if none of it mattered at all.

This left Chi Yu Zi somewhat unsure, doubting whether Yu Hua really was Gu Wen’s Heart Demon.

When nobody was around, Chi Yu Zi bluntly asked, "Gu Wen, do you really want to marry Sister Yu Hua?"

She never liked beating around the bush.

"Why desire, and why not desire?"

Gu Wen peeled fruit for Chi Yu Zi, feeding her beyond what he did for the other five brothers.

Chi Yu Zi frowned and nudged him in the waist with her elbow, "Speak human language, to desire is to desire, not to desire is not to desire. You’ve never met her, is it really okay to decide on a lifelong matter like this?"

"We’ve exchanged letters."

"Hmm!? How come I didn’t know about that, show me quickly."

"Are you here to catch a cheater?"

Gu Wen looked at Chi Yu Zi, who was grasping his collar, and sighed silently, then took out a stack of letters from a box.

On the slightly yellowed pages were neat and beautiful characters.

Chi Yu Zi picked up one of the letters, and what caught her eye were lines of poetry.

River water in spring joins the sea level, moon over the sea shares the tide’s birth. Vast expanses follow the waves for thousands of miles, where is there not a bright moon over the spring river...

In an instant, she became engrossed, a Saint’s thoughts could transform a mood into a world of its own.

After an unknown length of time, Chi Yu Zi slowly came back to her senses and sighed, "Yu Hua really has exceptional talent and charm, it’s no wonder you fell for her."

Gu Wen said, "I wrote this to her. She enjoys poetry and song; I merely catered to her interests."

Upon hearing this, Chi Yu Zi slightly tilted her head, her eyebrows tightly furrowed, attempting to see through this utterly ordinary man in front of her.

"Did you really write this?"

"No."

"Playing games with grandma again."

Chi Yu Zi threw a punch, clawing and gnashing her teeth, which Gu Wen effortlessly blocked without leaving a trace, saying, "Actually, I don’t particularly wish to meet her either; maintaining this is pretty good."

"What kind of logic is that, always being the fiancée? If you don’t want her, someone else will snatch her away."

Chi Yu Zi was somewhat puzzled, but with her innately honest heart, she imagined that slicing the fake Yu Hua would solve everything!

---------------------

In the blink of an eye, three months passed.

The Gu Residence was lit up and decorated, hosting a grand banquet, filled with joy and laughter.

Various unknown relatives who had never appeared before came visiting; the residence was crowded inside and out.

Gu Wen also donned red attire, making himself up a bit, and managed to look somewhat presentable.

Chi Yu Zi watched him for a long time, her expression peculiar, muttering, "Why do I feel he’s not as good-looking as my Heart Demon?"

Gu Wen, the unmarried groom, was considered a handsome man, tall and elegant, which was why Chi Yu Zi snapped out of it so quickly. She was never one to judge by appearances, yet the Bald Donkey had approached Chi Yu Zi with worldly desires.

This had given her the slip and a chance to break free.

Chi Yu Zi then took her departure, carrying a Ring-Headed Sword, she scaled the wall and vanished, light as a swallow she leaped across the rooftops, heading out towards the south of the city.

She had found out that the Yu Hua’s wedding procession would enter through the south gate.

Atop the city gate, an old monk watched the departing figure of the girl in silence; a flamboyantly dressed woman bracing with both hands asked, "Aren’t you going to stop her? If this young lady causes trouble, that would be problematic."

"No need; a Saint’s Heart Demon isn’t something he can eliminate," the old monk murmured, "The biggest problem is still the head of the Gu family. His cultivation is not solely his own, but it also comes from Heaven."

The woman looked surprised and then seemed to realize something, laughing loudly, "You’ve set your sights on a Saint not yet a millennium old, yet you’re unaware you’re caught in Heavenly Saint’s trap. This little fellow has the Four Imperial Immortal Positions, you can’t even seize The Three Pure Ones, can you?"

"I myself am Buddha, what need have I for a Taoist title?"

The old monk’s expression darkened, showing none of the appearance of a highly revered master, much less the demeanor of a Buddha.

The woman sneered, "You may be Buddha, but Buddha may not necessarily be you. Without your True nature, there is still Tathagata, and even without Tathagata, there is still the coming of Tathagata."

Buddha is all beings, Buddha initially has no form, having form is not the pure Buddha.

The old monk’s expression darkened, showing none of the appearance of a highly revered master, much less the demeanor of a Buddha.

As long as the Great Demon was enlightened, as long as the Mixed Element Dao heart was enlightened, the Buddha would be him.

Thus, he would stand equal with heaven and earth, becoming the third Saint.
