Chapter 412: Chapter 29: Ascend to The Three Pure Ones, Enter the Ru Dao Sect_3
It seemed like a matter of little consequence, yet she had forgotten that she originally lived here.
She had her home here, her own relatives and friends.
Yun Miao’s eyelids drooped as he asked solemnly, "What do you think should be done with the consequences from those years?"
The matter of Gu Wen and the Daoist Sect was the Sanqing Taoist Sect’s current biggest concern apart from the Devil Clan.
Due to many considerations that couldn’t be publicly discussed, the Daoist Sect had chosen to abandon Gu Wen back then, allowing him to be exploited by the Lord Emperor. This decision was orchestrated by Huayang, but without the silent consent of many, it wouldn’t have passed.
Yun Miao knew this, although he had been in seclusion at the time, it wasn’t a complete isolation. If he had truly wanted to intervene, he could have.
Even the Qingcang Master didn’t interfere in this matter, and he hadn’t mentioned it in eight hundred years, which spoke volumes.
Now Gu Wen had returned to the Daoist Sect as a Saint. Thus, the consequences from those years should be settled. The decision was no longer in the hands of these old folks from the past but in the hands of the Saint, in the hands of Gu Wen.
Gu Wen’s expression remained unchanged; eight hundred years had passed, and he no longer harbored the anger he once felt in knowing these matters.
On the contrary, had it been his eight-hundred-year younger self, perhaps he would have destroyed the Sanqing Taoist Sect.
However, the unpredictability of life lay in the fact that the Daoist Sect, which had indirectly caused him to become a family slave, was also the one that eventually gave him everything. The people he loved belonged to the Daoist Sect, and so were the people he had been angry with.
He said mildly, "So you were very foolish."
Yun Miao tensed up inside, did not argue but replied with a bitter smile, "Please do not involve the disciples and the Dao lineage. I will list every person involved in this matter back then. Currently, probably less than twenty are still alive; the rest have died in battles."
A vendetta against the Dao, irreconcilable in nature, let alone the vengeance of a Saint.
"If you could have seen my capabilities, how could she have stood out? I can’t expect too much from foolish people. You didn’t do anything harmful, just created some twists and turns."
Gu Wen showed a gentle smile, then his tone shifted, "But I will settle these consequences myself, because I hold grudges."
He stepped forward and pushed open the gate of the Clean Wind Bright Moon Temple; a withered tree in the courtyard caught his eye, apparently a jujube tree.
With a wave of his hand, daylight broke over Xuanhuang State.
With his breath, the clear air over Three Pure Mountain swept through the sky.
The little figure in the Qi Sea [Qi Cultivation] glittered brilliantly, transforming into a breeze that swept down, passing through, affecting millions sitting in meditation along the paths of nine million mountains.
-----------------
The female Taoist transplanted a jujube tree, as tall as a person and still a sapling.
The male Taoist just stood by, watching with an indifferent expression, the half-inch of light in his eyes enough to know the tree’s time of life and death.
The great Dao is constant, everlasting.
"You’re just going to stand there and watch?"
"Thirty years from now, it will wither."
"Before that, in three years, it will bear fruit and you can eat jujubes every year."
"I’m already an immortal, surviving on drinking dew and inhaling the wind."
Three years later, the jujube tree bore fruit, but the male Taoist waited another two years before eating the jujubes.
The female Taoist, stuffing a jujube into his mouth, asked, "Uncle Yun Miao asked me, how should the revenge of stealing the Dao be resolved?"
The male Taoist answered, "It’s resolved."
"What have you resolved?" The female Taoist, both laughing and crying, grabbed his head and shook it, "You blockhead, do you understand what I’m saying?"
The male Taoist, with an indifferent face, said, "Of course I understand. I am stronger than all of them; naturally, the resentment and grudge are up to me. I don’t think the Daoist Sect was greatly at fault; thus, the consequences naturally end here."
"I hope you will settle these consequences one by one."
The female Taoist shook her head, he looked puzzled, but she smiled sweetly and said, "Just beat them up for me, would that be okay?"
