Chapter 394: Chapter 18 The Venerable Must Not Be Insulted_3

"It’s all on us, no one else to blame."

Hua Qing True Monarch revealed a tragic smile as she arrived three steps outside the pavilion, knelt on both knees, pressed her forehead to the ground, and said, "Hua Qing has failed in her duties and caused a great disaster, and I’m willing to bear the guilt with my life."

Lu Chan shook her head and said, "You can’t bear it, the Daoist Sect will certainly punish you without mercy, otherwise, how can we reassure the hearts of the people?"

The unity of the Human Race today is based on the fear and hatred of the Devil Clan, and conversely, the ones sacrificed are heroes.

It’s only been three hundred years since then; for Cultivators who experienced the war, it’s their prime of life, but for those with great power, it might just be one seclusion.

"I can," Hua Qing True Monarch said fiercely, "as long as I switch to practicing evil magic, betray the sect and become allied with the Devil, and then get captured by you. At least in this way, the Venerable’s position can be maintained, and Qianfeng Sect will not be affected."

"Doing so will make you bear infamy, and your nephew and relatives will also be implicated."

Lu Chan stepped out of the pavilion, bent down to help Hua Qing True Monarch up, and a smile appeared on her wrinkled face.

"Sister, let me do it. If I take the blame, at most, I’ll lose my position as Venerable. Consider it my thanks for giving me the opportunity back then, which allowed me to meet a truly extraordinary person."

Outside the gate of the mountain, a sonorous chant suddenly came, spreading for hundreds of miles.

"Qianfeng Sect has usurped the heritage of Ninghua Sect, disrespecting the laws of Immortals and persecuting the descendants of war heroes. We hope Venerable Xuan Jin can give an explanation."

Lu Chan took a step and teleported to the outside of the mountain gate, only to see a sinister-looking man in a splendid robe standing in the air, surrounded by sect leaders or elders from various factions.

A group of people had come to accuse her, clearly with premeditation.

Yin Xu, Sect Leader of the Yin Yang Union Sect and former Venerable of the Huajian Continent, had not been held accountable simply because he had been in seclusion, breaking through the Dao Realm, and had not participated in the Immortal Land incident, thus he did not lose his position as Venerable during the war between humans and devils.

He had always harbored resentment but did not dare to rebel against the Daoist Sect.

Now that he had found an opportunity, he pounced like a feral dog.

Lu Chan said indifferently, "Seeing a Venerable, why not pay respects?"

Yin Xu’s eyes flashed with displeasure as he said, "Venerable Xuan Jin, you are now bearing guilt..."

"Insolence!"

Lu Chan waved her hand and half the sky turned upside down, a vast Illusion Array enveloped a hundred miles, pulling all present into it.

Yin Xu, caught in the Illusion Array, shakily bent in a bow, then quickly snapped to his senses.

Looking at Lu Chan again, his eyes filled with yet more wariness.

Lu Chan spoke coldly, "I have no need for some mere True Monarch to speak of my guilt. Go to the City Lord Mansion yourself and use the cosmic path to request punishment from the Daoist Sect."

True Monarch Yin Xu burst out in anger, "Xuan Jin, you can’t even save yourself, and yet you still flaunt your power."

"As long as I am a Venerable for a day, you will be subjects for a day. Are you trying to revolt against me?"

Lu Chan’s gaze swept across various powers, no one dared to meet her eyes.

Soon after, the various factions bowed respectfully, saying in unison, "We pay our respects to Venerable Xuan Jin. We dare not disobey the Venerable’s orders."

Yin Xu’s expression turned extremely gloomy, but he no longer dared to retort.

He realized that times had indeed changed; it was not just about who had the strongest fist anymore. Sometimes, the title of Venerable was more intimidating than a Taoist Soldier.

Everyone had agreed to press together, but as soon as Lu Chan brought up her title as Venerable, everyone came to their senses.

You may be strong, but can you defeat Qingcang Immortal?

Your power may be vast, but is it greater than that of the Sanqing Taoist Sect?

The grass over the grave of the last person who questioned the status of a Venerable is already sky-high. To ensure the mobilization of the Human Race during the war, the authority of a Venerable is bestowed by Immortal Qingcang. Only a Venerable can oppose another Venerable.

Others might have the power of the same realm, but opposing a Venerable is regarded as a rebellion.

Right and wrong will be discussed later; violators will be executed first.

If today they pressed down on Lu Chan together with Yin Xu, then tomorrow, when someone from the Daoist Sect arrives, they will definitely hold them accountable for insubordination first, and only then inquire about Lu Chan’s right or wrong. If Lu Chan were to die, the person to come would likely be the killing God, Chi Venerable.
