Chapter 193: Chapter 146 Qingcang Reappears_3

"Only when our ancient master accomplished his Tao did he turn the tide, and thus the Human Race has flourished since then."

Yu Hua looked at Gu Wen’s plain face, unaffected by the killing intent transmitted through the Yuqing Daoji.

Gu Wen remained calm, saying, "But now, the various Immortal Sects of the Human Race no longer harbor the vengeance of the past, and I cannot let you endanger yourself for a cause driven by rash emotions."

Everyone could be impulsive, but someone had to stay clear-headed.

The two stared at each other for a long time, neither backing down.

Yu Hua sighed, "Why not let the ancient master decide?"

She could no longer control Gu Wen.

"The ancient master can make a decision?"

Gu Wen cleverly sensed the key point. He had long speculated that the Qingcang Immortal wasn’t completely ’dead’, but he hadn’t expected they could still communicate.

"With the Yuqing Daoji, one can briefly communicate with the ancient master. You don’t need to understand the specific reasons, but you must listen to the ancient master."

"I will naturally listen to the Immortal."

No sooner had he spoken than the world spun around him, and he suddenly glimpsed a giant penetrating the heavens and the earth. Mountains and rivers were but his ankles; the cloud-covered sky did not surpass his shoulders. His eyes were like the sun and the moon; his breath created winds, his inhalation gathered seas.

Compared to this Immortal, I was like an ant.

A thought struck Gu Wen, and the figure before him suddenly grew millions of times taller, with an endless growth not reaching any summit.

I was proudly comparing myself to an ant.

Suddenly, all thoughts ceased. Gu Wen could no longer perceive the Immortal, only emptiness remained, and a faint thought came through.

It was not hatred for the demon kind nor a scolding for him, just a soothing breeze that calmed all restlessness and anxiety.

"Fleeing is not shameful; you are right."

Suddenly, Gu Wen came back to his senses, only to meet Yu Hua’s curious and probing gaze.

"How is it? Were you scolded by the ancient master?"

Gu Wen paused for a moment, then reluctantly nodded, "As you say. We can stay here in South Water Gang with Chi Yu Zi to complete the Indestructible Taoist Body, but we can’t keep jumping into danger. We still need to avoid it when necessary."

"Then I will listen to you."

Boom!

Grotto Heaven trembled slightly; someone was attacking the Array.

Gu Wen walked out of the room, and Chi Yu Zi was about to approach him, saying, "Someone is assaulting the entrance to Grotto Heaven."

"How many?"

"Two minor demons, one at the Fourth Level and the other at the Fifth Level of Dao Foundation. Their strength isn’t too bad but nowhere near the Devil Clan geniuses Jun Yan spoke of."

"They dare to attack us with such forces?"

-----------------

Outside the secret realm’s Grotto Heaven.

A man and a woman holding an instrument similar to a compass stood at the entrance, continuously casting spells that split trees and shattered stones.

They hadn’t determined the exact location of the entrance but were unabashedly conducting a kind of ground-plowing survey.

Gu Wen walked out of the Grotto Heaven with his sword, immediately bumping into them.

The man and woman, sensing a formidable opponent, retreated half a step, but then hesitated because of Gu Wen’s Dao Foundation strength.

"Wait, he’s only at the Fifth Level."

The female demon, also at the Fifth Level and fulfilled Third Level, was a prodigy in her own right.

Not even as good as Hee Huan.

Gu Wen drew out his Chopping Clouds Sword; his eyes cold, he took a step forward, and his sword’s light was brilliant—a head fell to the ground in an instant.

The female demon was beautiful, her head as large as a melon, her blood still red.

With a Dao Foundation at the Fifth Level, she stood no chance in front of Gu Wen.

The male demon beside her was stunned; he collapsed to the ground with a thud, his mouth trembling while his body hair rapidly grew, unable to maintain his human form, reverting to a horse-face.

"Spare my life..."

Gu Wen responded with a cold look, raising his hand and sending out two streaks of sword light, one cutting off the legs, the other severing the arms, causing a pitiful wail to echo throughout the forest.

Would this attract other enemies?

He stood over the horse-faced demon, coldly saying, "Now you can talk. How many devils do you have?"

Swoosh!

Sounds of rustled movement echoed from the forest, and a crafty light flashed in the horse-faced demon’s eyes, as if brewing some spell.

But Gu Wen’s sword was faster, instantly sundering the Divine Soul, splitting the head in two.

The reason he had maimed the demon first was that the horse-face was unclean, always operating his Mana under the guise of begging for mercy.

After extracting the Demon Core, Gu Wen turned to chase into the forest. Just as he was about to step forward, he saw Chi Yu Zi walking back with blood-covered hands.

She was holding a giant field mouse, the size of a ten-year-old child, trembling in her grasp.

"Great Immortal, spare my life; I’ll tell you everything!"

The Rat Demon’s Mana showed no movement, a complete coward.

"What kind of demon are you?"

Gu Wen rested the Chopping Clouds Sword right beside the mouse’s head; its plump body quivered as it quickly bowed and replied, "This little one is a mountain god from a tribe outside the frontier, captured to serve the Saint Heir of the Sky Fox Clan and subsequently brought into the Daqian Earth Realm."

The Saint Heir of the Sky Fox Clan? If his servant was nearby, he must be nearby too...

Gu Wen pondered, his desire to kill rising.

Since he wasn’t planning to leave, he should freely plunder the demon cores, striving for the Nine Revolutions Golden Pill as soon as possible.

He had never feared the Devil Clan; he was just worried about the toll on Yu Hua. The so-called Devil Clan geniuses were no different from the Human Race; those at the same level had no right to stand before him, one level higher without fulfillment meant certain death, two levels higher without Divine Skills also meant certain death, three levels higher not a genius just as doomed.

Seeing him silent, the field mouse trembled even more violently, speaking without being forced further:

"If the High Immortal wishes to find the Saint Heir, this little one can show the way, just begging the High Immortal to spare my life. This little one is just a servant, a minor mountain god from the frontier, who has never harmed a human life."

"What’s his cultivation level?"

"Dao Foundation... Sixth Level, Fifth Level fulfilled."

So he’s just an ant who is merely two levels higher than myself!

Gu Wen’s desire to kill had already arisen.
