Chapter 150: Chapter 120: Condensing the Mixed Element Primordial Spirit, Fourth Level Foundation Fulfilled

Five two hours after Gu Wen and his group entered Heavenly Spring Mountain, Ao Tang, like the protectors of other sects, was guarding the outside.

Then, out of nowhere, five Mahayana Realm old monsters suddenly ambushed Ao Tang. Had it not been for the Broken Sword Mountain protector, Hai Kun, distracting them for a moment, he might have been severely injured on the spot.

After a fierce battle, Ao Tang managed to escape with injuries and sent a warning to Yu Hua.

Seeming impressed, Gu Wen was surprised that Ao Tang could send a warning after being ambushed by five other cultivators of the same level and still managing to do so despite being injured.

"Is Senior Ao’s strength that formidable?"

Ao Tang was just Eighth Level Perfection at the Fourth Level, which added up to Twelve Level, so his strength should not surpass that of Chi Yu Zi.

Yu Hua explained, "Protectors are not strong, but as a Divine Beast, it possesses a very powerful Innate Divine Power, which allows it to escape thousands of miles in a breath. Even in the Immortal Land, it could cover five hundred miles in a single escape."

Ordinary protectors were no match for Yu Hua, and the descendants from Sanqing Taoist Sect who entered the Immortal Land were at least on the level of prodigies like Chi Yu Zi. Therefore, rather than seeking a protector of high strength, it would be better to find one that could run fast.

Ao Tang was one of the few beings in the world who could run the fastest and was therefore able to assist one generation after another of the Three Pure Venerables to enter the Immortal Land.

"Escape five hundred miles in one go?"

Gu Wen looked shocked. It was like a cloud somersault indeed. No wonder Yu Hua could return so quickly back then.

"What should we do now?"

"Fight our way out."

Yu Hua said succinctly, with a calm voice, "Five Mahayana Realm old monsters, or ten for that matter, what is there to fear even if there were a hundred? They’re nothing more than mortal strength."

A sense of detachment from worldly affairs surfaced, and Yu Hua’s figure faintly overlapped with the white-haired elder Gu Wen had seen.

Perhaps it was because of the remnant aspect of the Immortal Sword, but at that moment, he could vaguely sense an aura on Yu Hua that was distinctly different from all others.

It was an unquantifiable power, a strength known as ’Immortal’.

Gu Wen suppressed the complex emotions stemming from glimpsing a higher layer of existence and asked, "Just passively receive their attacks? What if the enemy deliberately exhausts you?"

Yu Hua tilted her head slightly. Although veiled by light gauze, Gu Wen could see her confusion.

She said, "Do you have any better ideas?"

Indeed, there was no easy way to enjoy the benefits without effort.

Just as it was when they went to Luo River, Yu Hua and Ao Tang both had their own thoughts but lacked a very detailed plan. They couldn’t be blamed for this: one’s strength and status didn’t match with their thought habits, and also the uncertainty of the Immortality Pill played a role.

Gu Wen felt they couldn’t continue blundering aimlessly like headless flies, especially with a large group of old monsters lurking in the shadows, ready to spring a trap at any moment.

They had to seek a change and break free from the predicament of being led by the nose.

Gu Wen didn’t respond immediately but said, "Before that, we need to make an agreement."

"Speak."

"You can’t trust all of my judgments because I am not a Demi Immortal of great power. My understanding of cultivation is limited, and this could lead to potentially fatal errors."

"I will rely on my intuition."

Yu Hua nodded. With that, Gu Wen dared to continue, asking, "I also need to confirm two things: First, are Immortality Pills easy to obtain once found? Second, do Immortality Pills have a time limit?"

He couldn’t retrieve them himself no matter how hard he pulled, whereas they fell out as soon as Yu Hua touched the sword scabbard. Clearly, Immortality Pills weren’t radishes that anyone could pull up.

"Causal destiny is unpredictable, perhaps by a stroke of luck, anyone could retrieve them," Yu Hua responded. "But normally, one would need to be at least in the Dao Realm, or else the Immortality Pill would devour them, just like the one in your hand which I had processed."

"Unprocessed?"

"One must possess the strength of 65 Dao Foundations, and after detaching from the Immortality Pill for a while, it could transform into a spirit. Maybe it could become the master of the Immortal Sword’s scabbard and turn into a Demi Immortal artifact."

After Yu Hua finished her explanation, she asked, "What do you think we should do now?"

"Since Immortality Pills aren’t easily obtained, what we need to do now is to move from light to shadow. We can’t be searching for Immortality Pills under everyone’s watchful eyes."

Gu Wen started outlining a plan for Yu Hua.

The first step was to shake off the enemy’s surveillance to prevent them from predicting their next move.

The second step was to disseminate false information, whether by creating a decoy or leading the enemy astray, or getting them to fight among themselves.

The best scenario would be for them to shift from being the ones being snatched from to becoming one of the many forces vying for the Immortality Pill. However, considering Yu Hua’s strength, they would probably still be targeted.

The third step was to rally neutral forces and make as many friends as possible.

These steps were no grand strategies, but merely Gu Wen’s usual methods of creating momentum and forging an environment favorable to oneself. For example, his first move upon entering Luodu was to display his talent and strength, to ward off provocateurs.

After that, the second step was to befriend the prodigies, and the third step was to form coalitions with them.

Coalitions were Jun Yan’s idea, but without him, Gu Wen would have found a way to create a similar environment. Some people, if not befriended timely, would quickly become enemies.

If they did nothing and simply focused on searching for the Immortality Pill, they would eventually be worn down.

The most crucial thing now was to break away from the enemy’s sight.

Yu Hua asked, "So there will be a fierce battle coming up, what do you think we should do?"

"If it’s unavoidable, then fight fiercely. Kill as many as we can," Gu Wen said resolutely. "Strike hard with the first punch to prevent a hundred more from coming."

Fleeing directly might not guarantee escape and could lead to even more predators. If Yu Hua remained invincible, the enemy would consider the risks, but otherwise, they’d only think about missing out on their chance.
