Xie Jianshen was tidying up his medicine supplies inside the Fuxi Palace’s tent when Xie Jianyu returned. He immediately recognized that something was amiss just by looking at Xie Jianyu’s dark complexion.

"Little Yu, what happened?" The elder omega took his younger brother’s hand and led him to sit on a long couch.

"It was nothing."

Xie Jianyu fiddled with the box of medicine that Xie Jianshen had given him previously.

"Little Yu, did Zhang Fengxi refuse to take the medicine?" Xie Jianshen asked, a little stunned at the rejection.

Zhang Fengxi had been generous enough to spare some of the Grand Tutor’s antidote to save Jiang Muchen, so Xie Jianshen felt compelled to extend his gratitude. He prepared a box full of medicine that was very effective in healing sword cuts. It was a special brew that Xie Jianshen concocted only for his younger brother’s usage.

Xie Jianyu offered to take the medicine to Zhang Fengxi, but the omega returned with the same box of medicine, its contents still intact.

"Mmm... he no longer needs it," Xie Jianyu said in a hesitant tone.

"Little Yu, what exactly happened between you and Zhang Fengxi?" Xie Jianshen assumed that they had another argument.

The younger omega looked up at his elder brother with glassy eyes.

"It’s nothing," he said again. "Liu Wenyuan was with him. I heard his voice when I stood in front of Zhang Fengxi’s tent."

Xie Jianshen scoffed in disdain.

"Little Yu, that wretched wolf is just trying to seduce Zhang Fengxi again. It does not mean anything. That bloody alpha is a fool if he takes Liu Wenyuan back."

Xie Jianyu shot his elder brother a bitter smile. He was not too sure about that.

"Big Brother, he loves Liu Wenyuan," he said with conviction. "He told me that he was never going back to Liu Wenyuan, but I knew that he would. He just... that’s what love does to him."

And also to Xie Jianyu himself.

How many times did he try to erase Zhang Fengxi’s image from his dreams? He kept avoiding the alpha to the best of his abilities, but they kept running against each other.

Although Xie Jianyu spouted harsh words toward Zhang Fengxi, his feelings never wavered. The depth of his love never decreased. If anything, he fell deeper and deeper in love with an alpha that he could never get.

"You love him," he remarked.

Xie Jianyu cracked a little smile. He gingerly waved at the omegas. The entire section almost exploded with their excited cheers.

Head Eunuch Wang had to calm down everyone before the Heavenly Emperor was able to make an opening speech.

Xie Jianyu and Zhang Fengxi both stepped into the arena.

Zhang Fengxi looked a lot better after resting for two days.

Xie Jianyu unsheathed his Winter Frost with eyes full of determination. He was not going to lose, no matter what.

The final round commenced, but none of them moved. Just as Xie Jianyu thought about attacking first, Zhang Fengxi laid his spear to his feet and knelt on one knee in front of Xie Jianyu.

"I, Zhang Fengxi, herewith renounce my claim to the Dragon Throne. I shall serve the Crown Prince with all my heart, and support him all the way during his reign as the next heavenly emperor."
