Chapter 166: Chapter 166 : Divine Dragontail Trench (1)

Jiang Muchen’s eyes flickered with battle spirit.

"No," Xie Jianyu interrupted. "I disallow it."

The two alphas ignored him.

"Come with me if you dare, coward," Jiang Muchen snarled at Zhang Fengxi. He then turned around and ran down the steps, heading to the Fuxi Palace entrance.

"Muchen!!!"

Xie Jianyu was shocked. Jiang Muchen had always been obedient toward him. Why this sudden urge to be rebellious?

"Heh."

Zhang Fengxi’s robe fluttered behind him when he stepped off the ground and chased after Jiang Muchen.

"Zhang Fengxi, don’t!!!"

Lions and tigers were both able to swim to some extent, but meditating at the bottom of a deep trench was at an entirely different level!

Unfortunately, obstinacy and the desire to rise above the others were parts of an alpha’s traits. When they were determined to do something, they would not listen to anyone. They only moved according to their primal instincts.

Xie Jianyu gritted his teeth.

Having just sustained an injury, he did not dare to be rash. Instead of using his light foot skills, he thus ran as fast as possible after the two alphas.

Unfortunately, by the time he arrived at the palace gate, both Jiang Muchen and Zhang Fengxi were already out of sight, leaving not even a cloud of dust in their wake.

"Ck."

"Master! What happened???" Qingyun gasped loudly when she saw the front part of Xie Jianyu’s robe. It was full of blood.

"Master! Is that blood???" Mingyu exclaimed in disbelief.

Xie Jianyu ignored his maids’ frantic questions. He shoved Caihong into Mingyu’s arms instead.

"Take care of this little one for me."

The Crown Prince then marched directly to Wangshu’s stall. The guards did not dare to stop him, so he climbed on top of Wangshu and then rode away to the Human Realm, heading to the Divine Dragontail Trench.

Located in the middle of the largest body of water in the Human Realm, the Divine Dragontail Trench was the deepest trench known to all three realms. Harsh conditions in the form of high water pressure and low water temperature prevailed even before someone attempted to dive into the trench.

As one went deeper, the danger became unpredictable. Despite the great benefits that he could reap by cultivating in the trench, Xie Jianyu had only gone there a few times in the past. Even then, he always brought guards from Fuxi Palace to call for help, just in case something went awry and he required immediate help.

It was too dangerous a spot to determine the more superior alpha between them!

Zhang Fengxi and Jiang Muchen were both immature and careless, the Crown Prince thought to himself. He paced Wangshu as fast as possible in the direction of the trench, all the while praying fervently in his heart.

"Please, please be safe."

The vast blue sea that harbored the trench shimmered brightly under the sun, giving no clue of the mysterious depth that lay beneath. Hovering a few chis above the Divine Dragontail Trench was Jiang Muchen atop his spiritual lion mount.

Some distance away from him, Zhang Fengxi’s spiritual tiger, Xiao Huang appeared to be disoriented and uncomfortable. Whenever he looked down and caught sight of the endless deep blue color beneath his feet, he howled in fear.

"Tsk," Jiang Muchen clicked with his tongue in distaste. "Zhang Fengxi’s mount is a coward, just like his owner."

His words earned him an angry growl from Xiao Huang.

"What?" Jiang Muchen sneered at the gigantic tiger. "Are you looking for a fight?"

"Muchen!!!"

Jiang Muchen turned around and saw Xie Jianyu and Wangshu rushing toward him.

"Little Uncle."

"Where is Zhang Fengxi?"

"Down there," Jiang Muchen nodded at the water beneath them. "I assume he’s already at the bottom of the trench."

Xie Jianyu went pale. "How long has it been?" he demanded to know.

Jiang Muchen pursed his lips and pouted. He hated it when Xie Jianyu cared for anyone other than him.

"Muchen, answer me!"

"Oh, I don’t know," Jiang Muchen avoided Xie Jianyu’s eyes. "Just a few minutes, not long," he said with an eye roll.

There was no use trying to get more information from Jiang Muchen.

Xie Jianyu pushed himself off Wangshu’s body and jumped into the water with a huge splash.

"Little Uncle!!!"

Jiang Muchen managed to pull at Xie Jianyu’s arm just before the latter dove underwater.

"Why are you so concerned about him?" he asked in a disgruntled tone. "Zhang Fengxi isn’t that weak and foolish. If he can’t handle it anymore, he will come up and admit defeat. No need to go after him."

"Jiang Muchen!"

The alpha flinched when Xie Jianyu called him by his full name.

Xie Jianyu’s fierce glare gave Jiang Muchen goosebumps. His Little Uncle had always doted on him and always treated him nicely. This was the first time he experienced Xie Jianyu’s unfriendly behavior.

"Little Uncle..."

"Zhang Fengxi’s meridians are blocked. He cannot use his spiritual power unless he wants his meridians to burst! If he cannot use his spiritual power, then how can he escape from the trench?"

Jiang Muchen went pale. He forgot all about Zhang Fengxi’s afflictions. Something might have happened to Zhang Fengxi when he was stuck deep in the trench, and no one was there to save him. Zhang Fengxi was going to die, and it was all Jiang Muchen’s fault for egging him on!

"I... I..."

Even an apology was too late at this point.

"Speak no more. Go back to Shuiran Palace and get some help. Now!"

Jiang Muchen did not dare to defy Xie Jianyu anymore. Nodding nervously, he paced his spiritual lion upward while Xie Jianyu dove into the water. It was not until Jiang Muchen was halfway back to the Heavenly Realm that he recalled another important issue.

Xie Jianyu was also suffering from the so-called meridian blockage. He was similarly unable to use his spiritual power.

An indescribable fear filled Jiang Muchen’s heart, causing cold sweat to drench his entire body.
