Damned Healer -
Chapter 213: Zero Chance
Chapter 213: Zero Chance
Eulalia snorted: "In my clan, maybe I’m the weakest tank when it comes to defense. But to beat a ridiculous and wild brat like you, two fingers are more than enough."
Darian looked at her and said calmly, "What nonsense. Did you come here to fight or just talk?"
Was she seriously trying to compete on who could say the most arrogant things? It was obvious she just wanted to recover her clan’s reputation.
"Be a good boy and grab your weapon. Let me destroy it along with your dreams!"
"No need," Darian crossed his arms in front of his chest and replied with disdain, "You look even weaker than that other idiot. Since he wasn’t worthy enough for me to use my weapon, for you... there’s even less reason."
She pulled the scarlet whip from her waist and cracked it hard, making sparks fly, and a deafening PAH echoed through the air.
Darian’s posture almost made her tremble with rage. Eulalia whipped the air again and said with contempt:
"Even if I’m not the toughest tank, in my entire life, no one at my level has ever managed to beat me. When you die miserably later, don’t say I didn’t warn you!"
With a roar, she was already leaping through the air. Her body was enveloped by a strange purple flame that, in an instant, covered her completely; it looked like she had put on a suit — or a dress — of fire.
Despite all the arrogance in her words and actions, Eulalia attacked with almost full strength right from the start. It was clear she didn’t dare underestimate Darian.
Seeing her going all out, her clan members got excited. Indeed, she didn’t have as much durability as most tanks, but her blessing and combat skills made up for that.
Darian recognized that blessing: it was called Reincarnation of the Purple Dragon.
The flames formed an elemental shield around the body. But fire, on its own, wasn’t great at physical defense — it was better at absorbing elemental attacks.
Still, besides the light armor of flame, the user could control and spread the purple fire around. This flame was pretty peculiar, and enemies couldn’t afford to ignore it. That’s why the user became a real shield for their allies, locking enemies into an area — exactly what a tank is supposed to do.
Also, the blessing gave decent offensive potential, and when combined with the Seven Stars physique of the empire’s people, it became something really effective.
There was no reason for her to lose to Darian... and besides, she wielded an extremely expensive whip made from the hide of a terrifying demonic beast, killed in an S-rank mission her clan had completed in the past.
"See the difference between us!!!" she roared, charging forward.
*Wooosh!*
When Eulalia lashed the whip, countless purple flames were released, turning into fast flaming serpents. Along with them, her whip shot straight at Darian.
Everyone in the stands felt a wave of scorching heat coming their way. Even from that far, the effects were intense — it wasn’t hard to imagine how terrifying those purple flames really were.
Darian’s hair and shirt were whipped back by the heat waves, but he didn’t take a single step back. Moving his hands, the rings on his wrists were fully activated, in sync with his seven stars.
"!"
Everyone watching widened their eyes.
At the moment the flames reached him... they seemed to lose their strength. When they touched him, they didn’t burn. And then, they simply vanished.
As for the whip, Darian just stepped to the side and dodged it smoothly.
"Fuck you!!!"
Seeing that the flames were useless, she roared and started lashing the whip from a distance, furiously.
*Slap! Slap! Slap!*
The younger ones couldn’t even see the whip’s movements, because of its speed and power. But...
Darian just kept stepping to the side, dodging precisely.
He could feel her intent perfectly, through his dark karma. It was similar to what he felt when fighting those hundreds of people during that mission. He couldn’t predict as perfectly as he could against the Risen, but after training a lot with those kind people, his ability to read movements and dodge had become way more refined.
To others, it looked like he was seeing the future and moving even before she attacked.
Eulalia was completely stunned, and her expression changed. She stopped — and suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Her blood instantly evaporated the moment it came out, then mixed with her flames. That was a sacrificial method to boost the power of her blessing. At the same time, her body got covered in a red battle aura.
If she had held back before, now she was putting out 200% of everything she had.
With a scream, the purple flames lit up again around her body. It was like a pillar of fire shot up in the middle of the martial stage.
The flames twisted... and within them, the shadows of three purple fire dragons appeared. It was a weird manifestation, but her blessing didn’t have "dragon" in the name for nothing.
Those shadows seemed semi-physical — they could actually attack and cause serious damage. So they charged forward with her in a wild assault.
*Boom!*
It was like three meteors had fallen from the sky. The whole martial stage got covered in flames. In the middle of the exploding purple fire, Darian was jumping repeatedly toward the edge of the arena.
Just as he stopped, a figure popped up a few meters in front of him and the whip roared through the air, aiming straight at him.
The dragon shadows condensed and moved in sync — it was an attack from every possible angle, completely unavoidable.
*Whoosh!*
Darian suddenly vanished, making everyone freeze.
He reappeared on the other side, way far off. Using Tempest Blink, that whole attack hit nothing but air.
When he maxed out his physique during the last fight, it hadn’t drained much. But now, with just that one move, it burned 30% of his energy.
He couldn’t keep dodging forever.
Then Darian made a subtle move. No one noticed, but in his hand, a bit of dark power flowed into the ground, mixing with the flames that covered the martial stage.
"JUST GONNA KEEP RUNNING?!"
Eulalia roared and charged at full speed, swinging the whip hard.
The whip, which was normally three meters long, suddenly extended to thirty meters, slamming into Darian’s body with brutal force.
Everyone watching widened their eyes. That whip could shatter rock and metal with a single hit... and now it could suddenly grow in size? Combined with her blessing’s flames... it was just terrifying.
*SLAP!!*
The sound it made when the whip hit Darian was so loud it made everyone’s heart skip a beat. And sure enough, he was thrown by the impact.
Seeing Darian get smacked by the whip, the Red River Pact members smiled wickedly.
When Darian disappeared with his technique earlier, no one had hidden their shock. But no matter how weird his skills were, that whip should’ve left him near death.
However, just as those smiles appeared, their faces turned serious again.
Darian, who’d been flung by the whip, didn’t roll on the ground like some pathetic mess. Instead, he spun in the air and landed smoothly. The whip had hit the right side of his back, and his clothes in that spot were completely torn, showing a deep and nasty thirty-centimeter gash...
...that lasted only a second before it closed up and vanished, totally healed.
He turned around calmly and looked at her.
"It did sting a little. But that’s it?" he said casually. "If that’s all, I could do this all day... you didn’t forget I’m a healer, did you?"
The joyful grins vanished instantly.
How the hell did that whip not split him in half?! And that healing... yeah... everyone knew he was a scary healer. If she couldn’t even hurt him badly going all out... then it was obvious she had zero chance of winning.
