Cyber Era Witch
Chapter 94 - 94 77 The New Era of Ratmen

94: Chapter 77 The New Era of Ratmen 94: Chapter 77 The New Era of Ratmen More and more Ratmen and Giant Rats were gathering, successfully passing through the central structure of Shenkong Tower and reaching the surface above.

One by one, their figures were exposed to the sunlight and transmitted to the world via internet signals, with most of the online media and television stations broadcasting the images recorded in Anjiu City live.

“Look at that, such a massive group of Ratmen!” the host exclaimed, “We humans are not alone!

All the rumors about Ratmen are true, and the end of the Giant Rat Tide does not mean the extinction of the Ratmen.

Now let’s go down and interview this beautiful Ratwoman.”

“They seem…

to bear no malice,” Farosa observed the scene on the screen, as the host from Kakuya TV Station leaned in closer, with the rotor blades whirring.

It didn’t surprise Xu Yang that the company was going to exploit the Ratmen.

“If we turn Sally into an internet celebrity,” Xu Yang noted, “and cultivate her as the mascot of Aizu City tourism, the benefits would be incredible; the profits could rebuild Aizu City three or four times over.”

The TV station’s shuttle machine moved downward, and the camera got closer and closer to Sally.

She was reveling in the joy of reaching the ground, opened her eyes filled with bloodshot, and became irritated and agitated as humans approached closer, emitting sharp squeaking sounds.

The aftereffects of using the stamp were clearly identifiable, as her cheeks were sunken in, and her expression was of confusion.

“Wow,” the host quickly said, “Hello!

Lovely Rat Miss, we are from Kakuya TV Station, and we mean no harm, please don’t attack.”

“Survive.” Sally circled around her tail, observing a crowd of company security personnel ready to swoop in, “We have to survive.”

“Please introduce yourself to the camera,” the host said.

“What’s your name?”

“Sally, Sally…” she repeated.

“Ratmen are perceived by everyone as creatures very similar to humans; could you tell us where you all originate from?”

“I don’t know, I don’t know,” Sally said, looking very uneasy under the sunlight, “I don’t know.”

“She looks very weak!” the host shouted, “Medical team, come please!”

A medical drone flew in from a distance, its shape like a diamond-shaped white metal block.

Approaching close to Sally, the medical drone raised a cone-shaped multi-segment scanner from its center and gave her a quick check, then extended a metal tube from below.

Sally stared blankly at the machine.

“Don’t be scared,” the host said, “This is an advanced treatment drone produced by Jingyuan Pharmaceuticals, it is for your own good, please come closer.”

The Rats watched angrily at all that was happening, ready to revenge at the cost of their lives should anything untoward happen to Sally.

Sally got closer to the drone, which extended a needle from the metal tube, injecting a certain drug into Sally’s right upper arm.

She frowned at first, but soon her expression eased, suggesting the drug was improving her condition.

The drone flew away, and the host turned to exchange words with his assistants, revealing a pleased smile, unaware of what kind of drug had been injected into Sally.

Sally, Sally, the Rat Clan’s female leader, the young prophet, the Witch, the Saint.

She lifted her head, deeply breathed in the sunlight hitting her face, and when she opened her eyes again, she looked much healthier, not as oppressed and exhausted as before.

Xu Yang saw unprecedented health and vitality in her.

Still beneath the sunlight.

It seemed the Ratmen hadn’t come into conflict with Anjiu City; once the bombs left by Matteo were dismantled, the situation could have been entirely different, and the Ratmen would be offered a new future.

However, Lila’s eyebrows were furrowed, not yet having pinpointed the exact locations of the bombs.

“The drone reports suggest you need more care,” the host said with a smile, “Would you be interested in becoming our Kakuya TV Station’s brand ambassador?

We can provide you with excellent medical and accommodation services to help you quickly join the warm and lovely human society.”

“What do I have to do?” Sally asked, clueless.

The host quickly had his assistants from the shuttle machine come down, pulling out a stack of reports printed on an ink screen, handing them to Sally.

“Just need to sign here,” the host urged solicitously, “We offer a low-interest loan to help you solve all the problems you’re facing.”

“What about the other Ratmen?

What about everyone?” Sally turned to look at the multitude of diverse Rats behind her, thousands upon thousands.

“We will provide them with the best and most suitable positions,” the host assured in a very friendly tone, “Please rest assured, it is a diverse society, we are willing to embrace our new companions on this planet with an open heart, we are very curious about your ecological, social conditions, and pasts!

All information about you is fascinating, fully capable of opening up all sorts of new academic fields, and for our history, it’s a brand new page!”

“I…

I’ve hurt many people,” Sally said absentmindedly, “Will you also forgive me…?”

“Rest assured,” the host explained, “We hear that Aizu City has suffered a certain amount of damage, but it’s all within an acceptable range.

As long as you work hard for the TV station, Kakuya Media will set up a special fund to soothe and repair the residents and buildings of Aizu City that have suffered losses, ensuring the differences between us are bridged to the greatest extent.

Our leader confirmed this in a phone meeting just a few minutes ago.”

“Yes, yes, thank you!

Thank you!” Sally couldn’t help but say, “I can work, I have Magic Power, my Magic Power has two forms, the first form…”

She raised her hand, and instantly, the TV image blurred, as if the signal on-site was interfered with, Xu Yang vaguely saw Kakuya TV Station’s shuttle machine falling down, this was Sally’s first form of Magic Power, summoning an Electromagnetic Pulse.

“Help!”

The presenter shouted and hugged the shuttle machine’s hatch just as the propellers stopped momentarily.

It was only after a few seconds that the signal returned to normal, but by then the shuttle had already crashed to the ground, forcing the presenter to jump down early to avoid being crushed into pieces.

“Huff…

huff…” The presenter was helped up by two special forces soldiers by his side.

“Another kind of power is life,” Sally said as she reached out her hand to the presenter, and the camera shifted to focus on the presenter’s handsome face.

“Ahem…” Overwhelmed and yet to understand what had just occurred, the presenter watched as the cosmetic prosthetics on his face started to peel off due to a rejection reaction, revealing the greasy and scarred ugly face beneath.

He was startled by his own appearance on screen, at a loss for what to do.

He hadn’t seen his original face since he was 20, but as Sally performed her magic casting, his features quickly reverted to a youthful appearance, wrinkles vanished, his skin whitened, and he was filled with vigor, his body even bulking up a bit.

In other words, it was magic capable of rejuvenation or life vitality enhancement.

“It’s incredible!

Not only has a witch emerged among the Rat Clan, but she also possesses two extremely rare powers—directed electromagnetic pulse and life force manipulation,” the presenter got over his initial shock and grew excited, “Miss, you will become the most dazzling Ratman Witch in the region!

Please sign here.”

Sally shakily wrote her name on the ink screen.

“Congratulations, this marks the beginning of a new future for the Rat Clan!” the presenter happily shook hands with Sally, “We will no longer harm each other!”

“Oh, oh!”

“Squeak squeak!”

“That’s fantastic!”

“Reconciliation!” The crowd from Anjiu City as well as the Ratmen all cheered.

With a smile, Sally shook hands with people who came to greet her, signaling the dawn of a new era for the Ratmen.

And so, the Ratmen’s tale draws to a close, Xu Yang thought to himself.

A good outcome indeed, allowing Anonymous to safely return to the ground.

“This is interesting,” Farosa commented as she witnessed everything coming to an end, “Power outage and a rat infestation, ending in such a manner.”

“Most importantly, Sally is going to spill the beans about Matteo,” Xu Yang nodded, “and then Black Fire Innovation will once again find themselves the target of all.”

There remained only that “dirty bomb” Matteo had planted.

“Have you located it?” Xu Yang inquired.

If it was just one bomb, it could easily be defused.

He could simply transmit instructions to the company’s personnel inside to handle it.

Exhausting considerable effort, Lila scanned Shenkong Tower from top to bottom and, against all odds, unearthed a total of seven suspicious packages.

All were equipped with systems that eluded scanning, requiring on-site presence for defusal.

“I found a total of seven,” Lila murmured, “varying sizes and charges, but all have activated countdowns, Master, we must evacuate immediately, there’s no time to defuse them all.”

Seven bombs…

Nothing could survive this.

Xu Yang shuddered, his scalp tingled.

Those Black Fire Innovation bastards—

Without further ado, he tapped into Shenkong Tower’s main security system, triggering the evacuation alarm, and had a recorded evacuation advisory blasted from every speaker, urging everyone to go as far away as possible and not to linger for a moment.

With force, Lila pulled back the control stick, tilting Anonymous backwards.

The shrill sound of alarms caused the ground-based power armored soldiers to retreat, while the security personnel inside the building, upon discovering bomb-like suspicious objects, panicked and found themselves unable to defuse them.

Kakuya TV Station still had reporters interviewing Sally, with the Giant Rat and Ratmen surrounding her, looking forward to the bright future promised by humans.

The onlookers filled the sidewalks, capturing this historical moment with their phones, not yet taking the warning from inside the building seriously.

Matteo, along with two witches, was hiding out in a safe house a few streets away, coldly observing everything through a small screen terminal.

The timer in his mind ticked slowly, synchronized with the countdown on the bombs.

It was over.

—Boom!

The feed cut off, communication was severed, and Shenkong Tower lay in ruins.

A white light as bright as a small sun erupted from below, blinding bright, while waves of heat and poisonous gases spilled out following the explosion, fire raged, and shockwaves surged forth, upending everything around.

Anonymous too was violently hit, and Xu Yang was thrown against the hatch, the roaring noise nearly bursting his eardrums.

The world spun around.

Thanks to the protection of the Nano Armor, Xu Yang’s agility saved him from injury as he braced himself on the hatch and got back to his feet.

He noticed that Anonymous had been completely overturned, debris strewn across the hatch, chaos all around.

“Farosa?

Lila!” Xu Yang shouted.

A moment passed with no response.

He looked outside to see the raging fire consuming Shenkong Tower, poison gas thick in the air, radiation levels off the charts, flesh and dreams vaporized in the inferno.
