Chapter 913: Chapter 736: The God Who is Dying but Not Yet Dead
About ten or so hours passed, they indulged in pleasures, over and over again. Until they felt utterly satisfied, as if two sugar cubes had dissolved in hot water, spreading from their bones to their blood. The secret chamber was extremely warm, so hot that one wouldn’t sense it was winter.
The bedsheets were restored again and again because, not wishing to tend to them, Farosa always requested Xu Yang to remain inside.
Xu Yang loved those little details—the high frequency at which Farosa constricted and engulfed him, as if she possessed a Little Galaxy within her. Had Xu Yang not been experienced, he would have been uprooted entirely. It was dangerous, yet he enjoyed it. Their nerves connected like wires, their joy, freedom, and stickiness intertwined.
Xu Yang’s hands embraced her delicate and tender shoulders. A gold chandelier hung from the ceiling, with twenty-four candles burning brightly, making him feel as if he’d returned to the Middle Ages.
"My love, my lover, my Xu Yang..." Farosa gently tapped on Xu Yang’s neck, then kissed him. Such pure love was so wonderful, dissolving any resentment.
Farosa could feel her own Power significantly growing with Xu Yang’s pouring in, inching towards the status of the Empress. She needed him even more now.
Xu Yang read many details from her soft kisses, including her fluctuating emotions and ever-changing thoughts.
Her divinity did not strip her of the capability to love, or rather, she deliberately kept this capability – just for Xu Yang, only for Xu Yang.
They bathed, and then Xu Yang dressed Farosa, making her stand out as a true Empress and Princess, then draped her with the Rainbow Cloak. However, what she cared about most was the ring. The expensive diamond ring Xu Yang had given her now sat on her ring finger, a symbol of their engagement.
Looking at the huge diamond ring, Farosa was dazed with wonder.
"I wish we could get married soon. If it weren’t for all these incessant troubles, we would have been married by now. Unfortunately, a wedding without Xylophia as a witness would be incomplete." Farosa gazed down at her ring.
She should have gotten married to Xu Yang right after receiving the ring, proclaiming her stance on love to the whole world, conducting the most important ceremony of her life. Matrimony was like putting a lock on love, a milestone for life, commemorating the eternal affection.
"We still have the capacity to hold onto the happiness of the present. And we will save Xylophia sooner or later," Xu Yang consoled Farosa from her sorrow.
"Help me with something," Farosa said, her head lowered.
"What is it?" Xu Yang sat beside Farosa.
"Not a simple matter, but a complex, big project, a plan that will help me defeat our enemies, you must help me," Farosa spoke slowly.
"Tell me about it," Xu Yang comforted her.
Farosa closed her eyes, as if making an important decision, then got dressed and walked with Xu Yang towards the depths of the secret chamber.
They left Farosa’s bedroom, headed deep into the secret passage, through a rock corridor carpeted with red and gold, the walls gradually disappearing on both sides, the transition marked by specks of starlight, and then Xu Yang saw vast starry galaxies against a dark backdrop.
Farosa’s Divine Realm.
Here, Farosa kept her Godslayer Weapon.
"This is the domain connected to my secret chamber, right here," Farosa walked towards the Godslayer Weapon.
Xu Yang observed the Godslayer Weapon. Also known as the "Subversion Blade," it was a Divine Artifact capable of altering the order, reshaping the mortal world, now flickering with an ominous black glow.
"What is it waiting for?" Xu Yang sensed something was amiss.
"I am preparing to re-edge it," Farosa gazed at her Godslayer Weapon, "only then might I stand a chance against powerful enemies like Idith and Dilnai."
The undying reborn Idith, and Dilnai, who commands the Angel Legion, both are among the most powerful of the Ancient Mystics currently siding with the Seven Seals.
"What do you intend to do?" Xu Yang asked.
"At the bottom of The Scar of the World, guided by Gold, I found some ancient scrolls left by Empress Shira, these manuscripts have given me some useful insights. I’ve realized the Godslayer Weapon has been tampered with, it’s not as powerful after the killing of gods. Other Mystics deliberately weakened it before handing it over to me, lest I use it to strike back at them. So, it’s not truly a Godslayer Weapon unless I nourish it with the blood of ’the gods who are dying yet not dead,’" Farosa gazed at the Godslayer Weapon.
"The dying-yet-not-dead gods..." Xu Yang looked at the Godslayer Weapon.
The living gods are full of power, the dead ones have returned to the Netherworld. The Godslayer Weapon can only draw strength from the gods who are between the two states.
Farosa extended her palms towards the Godslayer Weapon.
"According to the manuscripts left by Shira, and my decoding, I need four, four dying-yet-not-dead divine beings. I must drip their blood on it, only then will the Godslayer Weapon show its true form, understand and slay any divinity," Farosa said.
"Do we have that many?" Xu Yang recalled the past.
"The answer is, we’ve already gathered three parts," said Farosa, "one of which came from the Forest Master."
Farosa produced a narrow glass vial filled with dark green blood.
"The Forest Master once betrayed us," Xu Yang mused, filled with regret.
"Yes, to demonstrate its sincerity, I made it surrender its blood of near-death," said Farosa.
Betrayal cannot be without cost.
She approached the Godslayer Weapon, beginning to re-edge it.
The first batch of blood was dark green, like some kind of foul-smelling branches or pus.
