Chapter 803: Chapter 662: Copying New Magic Power

Seeing such a contract, Zhang Yunxi felt dizzy.

She stammered, unable to speak, as if she had caught some sort of aphasia. Wang Qi’an’s stern gaze fell on her, as if he was looking at an unfinished product.

"You could have replicated a stronger magic power," Wang Qi’an urged. "Your name was not in the strategic white papers of the higher-ups in the past, so you’ve always just been Pan Ruiyi’s shadow. Now it’s different, you are at Nestor Corporation, there are many new magic powers available for you to replicate."

These words unlocked Zhang Yunxi’s thoughts; she paused and thought of the most valuable magic powers in Nestor Corporation—Shallow Dream’s Time Stop; 101’s Teleportation; Miyazato Kazama’s Swarm Dominance; Little Laila Medusa’s Laser Eyes, and even dared to consider replicating the Law of Slaughter or the Law of Recovery...

Initially, Zhang Yunxi was just a Lower-rank Witch, able to replicate only one type of magic power with the effectiveness of a lower rank.

Now as a High-Ranking Witch, she could replicate two types of magic power and exert high-rank level effects. How powerful would it be if she abandoned the Close Combat Specialization of a captain and replicated those advanced specialty magic powers?

"Yes..." Zhang Yunxi’s voice trembled.

She can’t decide yet, as her earlier half-life experiences of shadowing had tamed her.

Wang Qi’an, if still in the original corporate troops, would have rebuked Zhang Yunxi for her timidity, but now, with their separation being a foregone conclusion, she shed her usual behavior and bid farewell to Zhang Yunxi with a gentle tone.

"Dismissed. It might be the last time we speak," Wang Qi’an said.

Zhang Yunxi felt immensely relieved and quickly left the oppressive room.

Arriving in the hallway, the outside air was refreshingly clear, greatly relieving her pressure. But then she suddenly shivered, regretting not formally bidding farewell to her old instructor and silently walking out of the room.

Going back to face Wang Qi’an’s piercing gaze seemed terrifying.

If only Captain Pan was here, seeing her towering presence by her side, Zhang Yunxi would feel infinitely brave, but now... she just couldn’t.

Zhang Yunxi walked through the metallic corridor and ran into the nearest restroom.

The disinfected room emitted an unpleasant smell, the walls were tiled with faux marble ceramics, and the bright mirror above the sink reflected her face, now she realized she had been crying.

She turned her head, quickly glanced at the bathroom stalls separated by dark brown panel doors, and before any witches could come out and see her tears, Zhang Yunxi swiftly wiped her cheeks in front of the mirror.

The warm water from the crystal faucet gave her a sense of security, and after touching up her makeup, she felt a pitifully small amount of strength replenish in her heart.

"Come to my office," Lila’s message reached Zhang Yunxi’s phone.

When she reached the president’s office at the top of the company, Zhang Yunxi saw Lila Nestor’s cold, indifferent appearance.

Strangely, Zhang Yunxi’s previously uncontrollable emotions quickly calmed down under Lila’s absolute serene and rational demeanor, overshadowing all of Zhang Yunxi’s panic.

"Thank you, President," Zhang Yunxi blurted out.

"Thank what?" Lila was puzzled.

"I, I..." Zhang Yunxi scratched her head and then, as instructed by Lila, sat on the adjacent sofa.

Lila’s mechanical eyes observed Zhang Yunxi, with the Dominator-level sensing magic capturing tens of thousands of pheromones symbolizing tension and loss on her.

She believed she had a duty to care for these junior witches, so she started by offering words of comfort.

Farosa was a cruel, selfish, and autocratic evil witch. Those who met her for the first time would be charmed by her beauty and natural lies, and the most familiar thing for her was to harm those around her. Therefore, Lila decided to protect the witches from her slaughter.

And humans. Lila had established Nestor Corporation aiming to improve the living conditions of its members; she truly saw herself as a gardener, a guardian of civilization, attempting to prevent human self-destruction.

And importantly, the master; if the master encountered grave troubles, Lila would take the master away and hide them forever.

As a mechanical witch unprecedented, Lila’s nature was indeed beyond all races.

Human ethics couldn’t regulate Lila, the witch systems didn’t apply to Lila, and mechanical technology couldn’t summarize Lila’s conditions.

A global supervisor and guardian.

Under Lila’s comfort, Zhang Yunxi felt increasingly calmer. Lila could detect the slightest changes in Zhang Yunxi’s expressions, pheromones secretions, and blood pressure conditions, and hence knew the impact her words had on her.

Meanwhile, Lila also through a secure channel reached an agreement with Xu Yang and decided to sign the contract.

"I have discussed and decided to sign the contract to keep you in Nestor Corporation, what’s your opinion?" Lila inquired.

"I am willing to join Nestor Corporation," Zhang Yunxi nodded vigorously, joy written across her face, "and... President! I want to replicate other magic powers, and I hope to talk with other witches because replicating magic power requires obtaining the other party’s consent, as well as spending time together and adapting."

If she replicated Huang Feng’s Magic, wouldn’t Zhang Yunxi become another wish fulfillment machine? Lila thought to herself.

"Prepare well." Lila agreed.

After Zhang Yunxi left the office, Lila added some additional clauses to the agreement, and then summoned Wang Qi’an to inform her of her decision.

Wang Qi’an also had one last thing to mention to Lila, as she entered the President’s office.

"Welcome." Lila said.

"As for the contract proposed by our side, you must have read it by now, Madam President." Wang Qi’an said.

"We are very willing to provide the funds to erase some past troubles in one stroke." Lila agreed.

"I hope Nestor Corporation takes good care of these cubs." Wang Qi’an breathed a sigh of relief.

"The treatment that Witches receive here is naturally very good." Lila said indifferently.

"Thank you very much." Wang Qi’an saluted Lila, who returned the standard military salute.

They knew each other as Battle Witches, and there was a sense of mutual understanding. Despite working diligently for their corporations, they were treated differently by humans, discriminated against in promotions and allowances, with no rights whatsoever.

No dignity, no rights, no freedom. At this moment, as Lila looked at Wang Qi’an’s weathered skin, she saw countless injuries and destructions, repeated over decades of exposure to sun and rain.

"Please take a seat first." Lila invited Wang Qi’an to sit down.

Wang Qi’an took out other contracts provided by the members of the external alliance and handed them to Lila, which were purely commercial in nature.

Lila checked the contracts again; all ports were more open, reorganizing the cross-jurisdictional trade list, banning unnecessary import and export controls.

In addition, the technology exchange would go deeper, allowing Nestor Corporation to manufacture some key products of Kyushu High Pavilion—advanced space shuttles with quality and performance reaching the ultimate balance, enhancing the automation and mechanization of the Nestor Corporation’s forces.

Nestor Corporation would also provide many advanced technologies from Xisheng, solving some of the technical issues faced by Kyushu High Pavilion.

Now the situation is clear.

The mutual protection landscape among businesses in the Eastern Hemisphere has gradually shaped up, companies will sweep away legacy issues from history and cooperate sincerely. With the scale of giant corporations, whether it’s Kyushu High Pavilion or Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing, the production capacity is severely surplus, needing a huge market for products and services, looking for new consumer groups. The Northern Archipelago is an appropriate target.

Previously, some of the overcapacity issues were resolved through wars, now it’s time to slow down a bit, looking for opportunities.

But... there’s even more. Lila contemplated.

Taking a special trip here surely wasn’t just for maintaining corporate balance sheets or expanding profit margins, Lila believed the contract was just the appetizer, and there would be more in-depth strategic corporate cooperation plans to follow.

The Eastern Hemisphere will maintain an absolutely stable situation, businesses keeping mutual trust, opening some confidential information to each other, deeply binding interests, moving forward and retreating together in all matters.

First economic and commercial exchanges open to each other, followed by joint diplomatic declarations, and finally common security, even military alliances.

The economic activity in the Eastern Hemisphere accounts for 49% of the world, that is virtually half the world already. If the Eastern Hemisphere reaches a consensus, it would surpass the fragmented powers of the Western Hemisphere.

The game between these behemoths is indeed terrifying, but this is also the most suitable strategy.

From their perspective, half of the world against the other half is much better than any single corporation standing alone.

The attitude and aura of Wang Qi’an also deeply impressed Lila, just such a woman has trained Pan Ruiyi, deeply connected, yet it’s unfortunate they could not meet.

"I saw the battle earlier, your martial skills are very superb." Lila said.

"I hope we won’t meet on the battlefield." Wang Qi’an said.

"We will definitely meet on the battlefield." Lila said calmly.

"Hmm?" Wang Qi’an frowned.

"Meeting on the battlefield—to stand against the enemy together." Lila said.

Wang Qi’an then relaxed.

"We have simulated various scenarios of large-scale wars against the Western Hemisphere; in the worst-case scenario, most areas fell, many bravest people were killed, populous areas flattened. But we also found a best-case scenario where not only were all enemies defeated, but they were also set in decline for the next few centuries." Wang Qi’an nodded.

"What is the best case scenario?" Lila was curious.

"The best case is— the armies of shuttles from Kyushu High Pavilion, nano armor assault teams from Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing, synthetic human troops from Nestor Corporation, and the fleets from Modern Entertainment, plus a squadron of 15 space motherships from the four corporations, countless Battle Witches... forming the Allied Forces, blocking everything beyond the Border Wall, driving back all enemies, and after that, no problems for a whole millennium." Wang Qi’an said.

This was their real goal. Lila understood.
