Chapter 769: Chapter 640: Repairing the Past
Xu Yang pondered how to proceed.
First, he needed to take Little Farosa and her beloved mother away from home and blow up that detestable, unruly man. Then he would give Little Farosa a wonderful childhood, allowing her to be unrestrained and enjoy the finer things in life.
By doing so, when Xu Yang left the memory space and Farosa recalled her childhood, she would only feel boundless warmth, and this might even alter her gloomy and irritable temperament.
No sooner said than done.
Xu Yang turned on the spot where he stood, his gear had also entered the memory space, so he activated the Nano Armor’s combat mode, transforming into a dark Samurai.
With such advanced armor, he was confident in confronting conventional enemies in Farosa’s memory—as long as he didn’t encounter those terrifying witches.
This was the Middle Ages, an era with no limits to witches’ development. Farosa’s memories surely contained a vast amount of overpowered Supreme Witches. In the era controlled by his company, Dominator Witches were rare, but in the Middle Ages, a witch could often become a Dominator with only 60-100 years of cultivation; therefore, Dominators were the standard among witches.
The number of Dominators in a region surpassed the total number of future global Dominators... Xu Yang still had to be cautious, after all, his mission was merely to ensure that Farosa grew up healthy and plump.
First, Xu Yang activated the Armor’s invisibility field and scouted the area, spotting a castle on a hillside guarded by stone walls and arrow towers, alongside stables and barracks, protecting the surrounding farmland and orchards.
In order to raise Funds for his operation, he decided to have a look inside the castle and take some Gold Coins that were widely accepted in this age.
With the Nanometer Armor’s invisibility field, avoiding the scrutiny of the era’s ordinary Guards was a breeze, even if Xu Yang walked past them openly, they remained completely unaware.
The soldiers all wore Middle Ages Armor from 1000 years ago, equipped with swords, spears, chainmail, and tabards emblazoned with crests, giving Xu Yang the sensation of having stepped into a Middle Ages film production.
The people within Farosa’s memory world were all very much alive; Xu Yang listened to their conversations, their communication was fluent, not at all stiff or awkward just because they were within Farosa’s memory world.
The ruler of the castle was a count; before taking the money, Xu Yang wanted to check the count’s location.
After scouting invisibly, Xu Yang found that the count was in the council hall, discussing with other subordinate nobles and knights about how to resist the Witch Council.
The Witch Council was a current dominating power, coexisting with the Church. The Council tried to claim all witches as its own to increase its power and brutally mistreated Humans. Many human forces on the Taixi Continent had been pushed to the edge, and facing this situation, they came together to form an anti-witch Alliance, trying to withstand the Council’s pressure.
According to history, these independent human forces were insignificant and would be crushed in the future, becoming puppets of the witches and the Church, Xu Yang thought to himself. This castle and its nobles were doomed to be destroyed by the forceful witches eventually.
But for now, they had some leeway in dealing with the Witch Council because the "Chaos Witches" were still around.
"The Chaos Witches have won a victory again."
"Now the Council’s judges and arbitrators will be reassigned, and Gaul will be calm for a long period of time."
"We must root out those filthy witches and kill them, if we find witch younglings in our village, it’ll give the Council an excuse to enter our territory."
"The knights of the Church are always hesitating, one moment they stand with us, the next they support the Witch Council."
"Thank goodness for those Chaos Witches..."
Their subsequent conversation mentioned several names, like The Vanishing Witch, Shilofi, and Time-Stop Witch Charly Valentin, whom Xu Yang already recognized.
The count frowned as he mentioned an even more powerful Reality Manipulator, Kristin Raymore, who, to support human forces against the Witch Council, erased the concept of "victory" in a key battle in northern Italia.
Under her reality-distorting influence, the Council’s strong army couldn’t advance further, and likewise, in other parts of the world, activities related to war and competition no longer had winners, causing most wars and sporting events to end prematurely. Such days caused a lot of chaos, with no side being able to defeat the other.
"The witches twist the world like this, we must unite until all witches are eradicated," the noble stressed.
"We are the last of the humans in the world resisting the witches; we absolutely cannot lose to them."
"From Constantinian to Lundinium, the Witch Council has drawn an insurmountable high wall across the lands of the Taixi Continent. Behind this line, the rulers of Gothenburg, Stettin, Wasso, and Legnitz have already submitted to the witches’ powers."
"If we treat the witches as naturally superior and natural rulers like those servants do, then we’ll become the most pitiable, most deserving of slavery race."
"Down with the witch tyranny! Taixi Continent belongs to Humans!"
"Oh yes!" The others voiced their agreement.
Little Farosa was born into such a conservative rural area where anti-witch sentiment prevailed; it was indeed dangerous, as she could be killed upon discovery, Xu Yang thought to himself.
However, although these people were resolute in attitude, the disparity in strength was stark, and their defeat was inevitable. If humans were to find an opportunity to defeat the witches, they would have to wait for another 700 years until the Industrial Revolution.
