Chapter 751: Chapter 625 Frost Sky Threat
```
The food supply was not optimistic.
After being damaged by humans for hundreds of years, the Forest Master’s power was far less than that of the Frost Giant God Elride at its prime, and the severe cold represented by the winter itself signified the end of nature and disaster.
Many Golden Trees had lost their leaves and withered, causing a reduction in food production; the days of abundant food were gone, and many people had returned to relying on Nutrient Paste for sustenance.
On a raised corridor, Little Fool sat with a flatbread held in both hands, nibbling it bite by bite, while Xu Yang checked the disaster situation in Yibei City next to her.
"What filling is in it?" Xu Yang asked while reading the journal, aside from the blizzard and abnormal weather, locals had also spotted traces of abnormal life forms, with various winter monsters appearing successively.
"I’m not telling you." Little Fool tore off a piece of the edge and gave it to Xu Yang.
Little Fool’s gaze fell from the banister to below, where the Witches sat near the round table, eating and reading, naturally pursuing power and wisdom. A mega-academy like this was the dream of all Witches, where they no longer had to be sent to corporations to suffer from birth, but could fully develop their potentials here.
But Little Fool just couldn’t take to the place; she had realized something—the education she could receive here was all fashioned after Farosa, Farosa’s ideas and schemes lingered in the texts she penned herself, eroding the minds of the Witches, whether they wanted it or not.
"Dad, take me back to play." Little Fool finished the flatbread and jumped down from her seat.
"I’m going to Yibei City; the city’s network nodes have gone offline, which means the physical site of the Helis Sea in Yibei City is completely destroyed... We now know nothing about Yibei City." Xu Yang showed Little Fool the map.
In the bright network of Helis Sea nodes, the position of Yibei City was pitch black, as if a giant hole had swallowed all the light. Coupled with the endless frost winds and the monsters emerging from the blizzards, Yibei City seemed to be completely erased from the map.
"Dad is going to fix the machines." Little Fool understood.
"Rinne can control the complete nodes, but cannot repair utterly damaged ones; I still have to go up." Xu Yang checked the final report; the journal broke off at a specific moment, indicating the damage was thorough. Without a professional network engineer to recalibrate the parameters, simply fixing the machines would be futile.
"I’ll go with dad." Little Fool was ready to work.
"You’re just a little bean." Xu Yang put away the terminal.
"Dad is just an ordinary person." Little Fool said.
"Your words are too cutting, don’t sell me short."
"Anyway, I am a Witch, I can protect dad." Little Fool clenched her fist.
"Going into the heavy snow is tough, take all your gear, I’ll be at the air station, leaving in half an hour." Xu Yang stood up.
Little Fool activated her Ninjutsu and vanished in the blink of an eye, shooting back to her dormitory.
She packed all her treasures into a suitcase, including a baby bottle, scrolls, a water bottle, and many little baubles, and dragged a cart full of clothes with the other hand. She also called for the Wolf Girl.
Wolf Girl had joined the advanced classes, but she attended few lessons, only participating on time in physical training, spending the rest of her time playing games.
She was Little Fool’s good friend, following along now, dressed in a large white Witch shirt, her tall stature making the shirt bulge, with strong muscles on her arms and thighs. As she leaned forward, her gaze drifting around, other Witches had to make way, fearing they would be devoured by this Wolf.
"Quack!" Little Fool saluted the Wolf Girl.
"Howl." Wolf Girl used her long, untrimmed fingernails to scratch her chin, taking Little Fool’s luggage and carrying it on her back. What Little Fool struggled to drag was as light as a basket filled with feathers for Wolf Girl.
Xu Yang stood at the air station’s insulation junction, dressed in Nano Armor covering his entire body.
"Who are you?" Little Fool asked the cool black tech warrior in front of her.
"I’m your dad."
Little Fool saw Xu Yang rebooting the Nano Armor for the first time and stood there gaping.
"Hard shell." Wolf Girl glanced at Xu Yang’s advanced Armor, she had fought against Nano Soldiers, those elite troops were impervious to swords and guns.
"Where’s Snowball?" Xu Yang looked at Little Fool’s menagerie and did not see Snowball.
"It’ll come when needed," Little Fool cunningly said.
"Let’s go." Xu Yang told them to get their cold-weather gear on in the insulated area before heading out.
Winter gear became the theme of every undertaking, with temperatures in Shangjing at minus 40 degrees Celsius and Yibei City reaching minus 55 degrees Celsius. Anyone exposed to the extreme cold would get frostbite in minutes, as the sharp pain on the skin quickly turned into severe frostbite. With significant changes in heart rate and blood pressure, a person would rapidly lose the ability to move and freeze to death, and even with timely rescue, gangrene of the limbs could still occur.
```
The Wolf Girl was issued a complete set of warm clothing. Her service experience at Black Fire Innovation had changed all her habits, and she would only recognize supplies with military labels, even requiring the boxes to be marked "military supplies" before she would open them.
The closest to her skin were electric heating underwear and socks, which provided a significant amount of heat through heating elements, followed by tight-fitting outerwear and trousers. Since she was a witch, she also wore the transformable Witch Armor that had been issued to her.
"It will read the Magic Power within your body, and once you feel the urge to transform, the armor will transform in advance to avoid being torn apart. It will become armor that clings to your claws and arms, as well as Adamantium Claws," Xu Yang reminded her.
"Awroo." The Wolf Girl put on her full set of Armor. Because of the harsh winter, her Witch Armor was bright white, with high-density materials and laminated plating increasing its windproof, warm-keeping, and heat barrier functions.
"Let’s go," Xu Yang entered the temperature exchange room. The visual panel in front of him warned of a rapid temperature drop from 20 degrees Celsius indoors to 0 degrees Celsius outside, a transition area meant to adjust to the temperature difference, which was already cold enough.
"Quack!" Little Fool was still bundled up like a big sheep, wobbling along behind him.
Xu Yang opened the sealed door that isolated the inside from the outside. On the tarmac, the snowy cold wind howled, blowing fiercely and making it difficult to walk steadily.
He had Little Fool cling tightly to his Armor as they walked outside; the heavy black Shuttle Machine automatically opened its side door, blowing snow away from around the machine with air blowers.
Little Fool was dazed by the blizzard.
"Can’t we teleport there?" she asked.
"It’s 1000 kilometers... Relying on short jumps would actually take even longer," Xu Yang walked forward to the clearly marked center of the tarmac.
The soldiers first secured Little Fool on board, then the Wolf Girl. Xu Yang glanced at the city buried in snow and then forcefully boarded the Shuttle Machine, pulling the cabin door shut.
On the heavy Shuttle Machine, there were 10 other soldiers and a Combat Synthetic Human team, including Ise Hanabi, a High-Ranking Witch who had once belonged to Xisheng. Her Magic Power allowed her to predict others’ actions, giving her an added advantage in battle.
Once the Shuttle Machine took off, Ise Hanabi sat with a stern face, looking at Little Fool.
Little Fool took off her furry hat and stared blankly at Ise Hanabi. Blinking, she had never seen such an adorable child before, and so pulled Little Fool onto her lap.
The Shuttle Machine flew northeast for four hours, constantly battered by blizzards and strong winds. The aircraft shook violently, the engines roared under the strain, the wings frosted over, and looking out the windows, visibility was very low with everything wrapped in a gray haze.
"Large amounts of unknown creature activity detected near Yibei City, surrounding major roads and several mines," the scout reported.
"Is there a way to land at Yibei City Airport?" Xu Yang asked.
"A super-giant threat appeared 5 kilometers ahead in the airspace!" Before the scout could respond, he suddenly shouted loudly.
In an instant, the Shuttle Machine encountered turbulence hundreds of times stronger than during its flight, briefly losing power amidst the blinding snowstorm. Fortunately, the Shuttle Machine was well-prepared with enough fuel and emergency measures for the mission. Two technical soldiers rushed to the rear of the Shuttle Machine for emergency repairs, quickly restoring balance.
"Land at these coordinates," Xu Yang decided to follow the backup plan, directing the Shuttle Machine to change course and land near a snow valley mine pit. There was an iron mine there, as well as a village called Tsukubetsu Town, supported by the nearby mines and hot springs.
When the Shuttle Machine stopped at the edge of the village, they saw that most of the houses had been crushed.
Frightening Frost Giants stood amidst the blizzard, invisible to the naked eye in the storm, only their vague shapes detectable by reflective wave detectors, each over ten meters tall, towering entities that humans had to look up to.
As the Shuttle Machine approached, these Frost Giants let out terrifying roars, their frightening power not only causing fear but also bringing the chill of winter into the cabin, icing up the windows from the inside and causing a sharp drop in temperature inside the cabin.
They quickly began to dress, preparing for combat to clear away these supernatural monsters born of winter.
"The Battle Witch goes first!" Ise Hanabi shouted, grabbing her Great Cross Sword, a special Magic Power weapon forged for her by Farosa using Magical Materials, bestowed upon those outstanding in the Battle Witch sequence.
She activated the armed mode of the Armor, the helmet descended to cover her face, and then she jumped down from the open cabin door.
"Attack!" the Advanced Legion soldiers and Elite Soldier Combat Synthetic Humans followed closely behind.
"Awooo!" The Wolf Girl roared as she charged down, leaping onto the snow and beginning to transform, her body rapidly swelling.
"Push on!" Little Fool charged forward, but Xu Yang pulled her back, and she landed on the ground with her bottom.
"It’s too dangerous for you," Xu Yang warned.
"Quack quack?" Little Fool stood up, pondered in disappointment for a moment, and then made hand-seals before slapping the ground.
"Woof!" Snowball emerged from the smoke, leaping out of the Shuttle Machine to join the assault troops.
