Chapter 683: Chapter 571 Evening Entertainment
Xu Yang sorted out the independent armed forces, and Aledy was getting ready for a meal at the Junyue Hotel.
She sat in the armored car and ordered everyone unrelated to get the hell out.
"Oh my, such a decrepit city, how boring." Aledy rolled down the car window and looked at the old districts outside.
She saw the buildings mismatched and haphazardly arranged, with antennas and glass canopies chaotically erected on rooftops, canvas draped over broken windows. The majority of people looked listless, wearing visibly cheap clothing, their skin coarse and their bodies exhausted from long-term physical labor.
Though the people were poor, they didn’t necessarily feel sorrow or despair because there were plenty of amusing diversions to keep them entertained, from street vendors hawking stamps and cigarettes to cheap brain electrode stimulation parlors and brain receptor modifications that boost dopamine.
Anda Port as a whole gave her a sense of mild decay, as if there was no hope left in anything.
And the weather was so hot and stuffy, scorched by the sun all day long...
Aledy wanted to find some entertainment.
She planned to thoroughly enjoy herself at the expense of the banquet’s attendees.
Leaning back in her seat, Aledy plotted her plan. She wore only a camo top and azure denim hotpants, petite feet clad in army green plastic boots, carelessly perched on the steering wheel. Her thighs were plump, but her calves were thin, and she wasn’t very tall.
The hot wind blew in, and Aledy touched her own forehead.
There was no second sun in the sky, in her heart, there was only the one sun that was President Lila. Even Xu Yang, in Aledy’s eyes, was nothing more than an uncle. Now that she held a high position and had more power, she no longer paid attention to other things.
"This is a paradise of pleasure, after Black Fire Innovation left, all that remains is mediocre scum~ Burn the scum with a flame thrower..." Aledy murmured to herself.
"Commander, shall we issue the orders?" A Nestor Soldier approached the window and asked cautiously.
Aledy opened her handheld panel and saw the signal lights and deployment positions of neighboring units.
——Southern First Strike Brigade——
Synthetic Human Infantry Companies (720 "Elite Soldiers")
Airborne Assault Battalions (2000 Nestor Armed Soldiers, boarding military Shuttle Machines, equipped with anti-armor missile drones and rapid deployment artillery)
Corps Squadron (100 Nestor Legion troops, mixed with 12 "Nekomata" main battle tanks, equipped with heavy siege artillery, armored transport vehicles, and anti-aircraft missile launchers)
Aviation Support Battalion (40 "Ghost" ground-attack aircraft, 16 heavy transport aircraft)
Auxiliary Support Brigade (400 auxiliary personnel, equipped with service, medical, maintenance, and network communication equipment)
——
"Everybody seems very spirited." Aledy nodded approvingly. She dispatched the troops and then got out of the car to find Ramali, "Hey, shaking uncle, you’re quite familiar with the people attending tonight’s banquet, aren’t you?"
"Ah, yes, yes." Manager Ramali could only comply in the face of Aledy’s devilish ferocity, tacitly admitting his inability to defy her will.
"Let’s go then. Tonight might be a lot of fun. If you panic... the shaking uncle might end up a corpse." Aledy walked towards the hotel.
"Ah..." an anxious Ramali didn’t understand what Aledy was up to.
The guests attending the banquet tonight were prominent figures in the Charo Island business world; surely nothing could go wrong.
The General Manager of the hotel, Kabalin, personally came out to welcome Aledy; he was accompanied by over a dozen beautiful greeters. They led Aledy to the hotel’s luxurious banquet hall and offered her the seat of honor.
Kabalin grew nervous upon seeing the show of force Aledy brought with her.
"Are you really going to bring these soldiers with you?" Kabalin was taken aback by the number of soldiers following Aledy, "The hotel can absolutely protect your privacy and safety... You also know the reputation of the Jinyue Hotel Group..."
"Uncle, I’m a soldier, not some corporate person. Don’t bother me with that nonsense~ Just bring up the best food, the best wine, and have a music band ready." Aledy waggled a finger quickly back and forth in front of Kabalin.
Kabalin pondered upon hearing her words.
The issue was no longer about offending Nestor Corporation. The real concern was that the moment he showed any resistance, the Aledy in front of him might just order his execution.
With the global economic crisis, the Jinyue Hotel Group had recently fallen into financial loss, and they could not afford to anger a powerful company commanding the military and manpower like Nestor Corporation.
"Yes, of course," Kabalin nodded vigorously, submitting to Aledy’s arrangements.
Aledy entered the banquet hall.
The décor here was also quite old-fashioned, lacking the smart screens, 3D models, and geisha robots she had seen in Shangjing, replaced instead with more traditional white tablecloths, oversized cut-glass chandeliers, porcelain, and silk screens, lending a local charm.
She sat next to a round table, incessantly tapping on its surface with her fingers, signaling her impatience.
The waiter beside her watched nervously, yet dared not make a sound to inquire.
Aledy’s fingers drumming on the table grew more forceful, causing the waiter to hurriedly bring over a bottle of red wine and fill her glass.
She downed a glass of wine and then continued tapping on the table. The waiter quickly brought a box of high-end cigarettes, lit one for Aledy, who took a drag and exhaled a large ring of smoke before resuming her tapping.
The waiter had no choice but to summon a beautiful Witch.
Her name was Rosa, and she was stunningly gorgeous, clad in a long-sleeved dress, graceful and elegant. As the hotel’s star performer, Rosa was skilled in singing and dancing, and now she dedicated herself to massaging Aledy, her voice gentle and soothing, which eventually brought Aledy’s tapping to a stop.
"Not bad," Aledy nodded, handing Rosa a cash card worth 20,000, which made Rosa’s eyes sparkle with joy.
A few minutes later, local businessmen of repute arrived one after the other.
Ramali ushered them in at the entrance. Each of these personalities was a big name on Charo Island, making Ramali too intimidated to even breathe heavily.
Beyond Pragya from the Southern Territory Rubber Company, stamp magnate Halsan, and Huang Yunxuan, president of the Xia People Chamber of Commerce, there were also minor bosses from the tea and alcohol industries, leaders in food and catering, heads of underground gangs, chiefs of Mercenary groups, as well as famous actors and actresses attending.
In Aledy’s eyes, they were all greasy middle-aged men.
Her gaze drifted past this crowd to spot over thirty glamorous young women, fresh and mature alike, from timid to sophisticated, now joining the banquet. Clearly, they were not there to eat and drink but to take part in the post-banquet activity – an indispensable large-scale group exercise.
Aledy smiled faintly.
"Your face is flushed?" Rosa massaged Aledy while following her gaze to the ladies prepared for bedtime service.
"Not at all," Aledy parried.
"Aren’t there any male executives in the Nestor Corporation delegation? If not, these ladies may only accompany Nestor’s soldiers, though of course, they’ll strive to satisfy the soldiers," Rosa whispered.
"Would you join them?" Aledy turned to look at the beautiful Witch Rosa behind her, "We do have an older man coming this time."
"As long as you name the price, I’m at your service anytime... I am the hotel’s attendant Witch, exclusively accompanying important guests," Rosa said tenderly.
"How much for one night? Do you know how to take care of women?" Aledy continued to chat with Rosa, completely ignoring those who approached to greet her.
The business figures of Charo Island, seeing Aledy preferring to talk to the dancer Rosa rather than look up at them, were understandably upset.
Initially, they smiled apologetically at Aledy and greeted her, and then gathered according to their usual closeness, holding wine glasses and exchanging opinions amidst the clinking of glasses and conversation.
"That little girl is looking down on us in Charo Island," the stamp trafficker Halsan sneered, with his exaggerated mustache, glasses, and light-brown skin.
"As she should, but there’s no need for us to be thrown into disarray just yet," Huang Yunxuan couldn’t help laughing. He had been through 30 years of business ups and downs on Charo Island and had seen many companies come and go.
While the overlords kept changing, anyone wishing to effectively exploit the resources of Charo Island still had to go through a number of intermediary companies.
Huang Yunxuan knew this very well. The businessmen present tonight monopolized 80% of Charo Island’s mineral resources, tropical crops, and transportation, energy, and shipping resources. They were also eager to use this opportunity to come together to reinforce their relationships and continue profiting on Charo Island.
"Nestor Corporation treats us as if we were air, so we might as well consider them fools," Halsan whispered.
"There are soldiers outside," Pragya from the Southern Territory Rubber Company reminded them.
"Would they dare to shoot here? This is the Junyue Hotel; no one has ever dared to break the business rules here in 100 years," Huang Yunxuan found it laughable.
Still, as they unconsciously shifted their gaze towards Aledy, they discovered her fidgeting with a 7mm handgun, the "Nail Shooter."
Huang Yunxuan excused himself to go to the restroom but was stopped by two soldiers at the door.
"I want to go out," Huang Yunxuan said as calmly as possible.
The Nestor soldiers pushed him back into the banquet hall, and Huang Yunxuan’s face fell immediately. He had never been treated this way in all his years as a local figurehead, but now he was being treated like this!
"Nestor Corporation is too rude, they wouldn’t even let me step out," Huang Yunxuan said coldly.
"We’re locked down?" Halsan became more alert.
The news spread in ripples among those present, filling them with paranoia. They immediately confronted the hotel general manager, Kabalin.
Kabalin, under the pressure of Aledy’s mercurial nature, didn’t dare utter a word. Thus, the businessmen found themselves sealed inside the banquet hall by Aledy!
Even Black Fire Innovation had not pulled off something so startling, and they hastily sent out discreet messages, arranging for reinforcements and armed troops to come to the hotel.
In this tense atmosphere, Aledy continued to enjoy Rosa’s massage.
"They’re really afraid of you," Rosa whispered.
"These small fry are just like that~ no good at all. Urge the hotel to serve the food, I’m starving," Aledy said, slapping the handgun on the table.
