Chapter 677: Chapter 568: The Express Delivery Battle

In the western part of Charo Island, within the municipal corporation office of the coastal city of Anda Port, Huang Feng ate with a fork in his left hand, while his right hand threw a small knife towards the face of a young manager.

"What do you mean A40 is gone!" Huang Feng screamed shrilly.

The manager was unable to dodge in time, and the knife pierced his face, causing blood to flow out immediately. He retreated in a panic, surrounded on all sides by Black Fire Innovation soldiers, leaving the manager nowhere to run.

"We haven’t... heard from A40 in a long time." The manager, nervous and anxious, spoke softly.

"It’s operating here! It’s leading troops on Charo Island to attack you, and now you tell me it’s disappeared!" Huang Feng’s voice grew louder and louder, "Do you want me to kill you?"

Huang Feng’s rage almost crushed the manager.

"Even the insurgents know that there hasn’t been a sign of A40 for at least a week or two, as if it vanished from the face of the earth. But doesn’t your company see this as an opportunity? Without A40 causing trouble, the mighty Black Fire Army should be able to crush the insurgents in no time! And bring peace back to Charo Island..." The manager grew more and more excited as he spoke.

"...How do you know what’s happening with the insurgents." Rolo stood behind Huang Feng.

"Someone from my mother’s side joined the uprising..." The manager realized he’d misspoken.

"Traitor! You should have reported him!" a soldier yelled.

"Ah..." The manager trembled all over.

"...Ramali Coslo?" Rolo noticed the name tag hanging on the manager’s chest.

"Yes, yes... I am the secretary of the management committee and also the manager of the operations center," Ramali said nervously.

"...Black Fire Innovation is pulling out of Charo Island..." Rolo grabbed Huang Feng’s arm, dragging her away from the sofa like one would pull a little girl, "...hiss... You all find another way out."

The soldiers of Black Fire Innovation left one by one, and Huang Feng threw the remaining food on the ground before storming out angrily. Ramali remained seated in the office, sitting despondently as all the rumors were confirmed--Black Fire Innovation had left Charo Island. The fate of the entire island and Anda Port now fell into the hands of other companies, the island, the city, and its infrastructure had all become spoils of war for the victors.

For Ramali, everything was inconceivable. Since childhood, his education taught him that Black Fire Innovation was the strongest company in the world, and dedicating one’s loyalty to Black Fire Innovation was the lifelong mission of the Taiya people. This ideology had been instilled from elementary school, with Black Fire Innovation deliberately tailoring textbooks to control the children of Taiya, promoting the notion that they would set out from the Taiya Archipelago and then conquer the entire world, allowing the decaying and frail corporatism to be destroyed and reborn in the fires of Blackfire.

All teachers and textbook editors who dared raise objections were secretly executed. Ramali was raised surrounded by corporate culture, reading stories of the "combat heroes" who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Black Fire Innovation just like everyone else. He learned to sing the military song of Black Fire Innovation, collect models of Black Fire weaponry, knew the history of Black Fire Innovation’s expansions, and considered their acts of plunder great feats. He wept for joy at each victory in the corporate wars achieved by Black Fire Innovation.

But now Black Fire Innovation had been defeated, lost in the corporate wars of the Eastern Hemisphere, withdrawing from all of Charo Island! This thought was excruciating for Ramali.

However, compared to the grand defeat, whether it was the knife thrown by the Reality Manipulator, Huang Feng, onto Ramali’s face, or the soldiers’ cold and contemptuous attitude towards him, it all felt like a massive club hammering down on his head. While his mind was fuzzy with pain, he sadly realized that Black Fire Innovation didn’t regard him at all.

Hadn’t Ramali liked every social media post that celebrated the victorious advances of Black Fire Innovation? Each time the warships docked, wasn’t it he who eagerly supplied materials and assisted in personnel coordination? When the wounded soldiers and veterans came to Anda Port to have fun, it was also Ramali who arranged the hotels and women. He had been so eager to support Black Fire Innovation, yet now it seemed as if he was never considered one of their own.

Thinking of all he had done for Black Fire Innovation, and now being discarded in the city like trash, Ramali felt an intense pain. Other companies, those weak companies, would take over the assets of Black Fire Innovation.

Lost in his thoughts, Ramali heard the alert for a new message. Opening the communication panel, he discovered that the Nestor Corporation had arrived.

As a mid-level manager in the municipal management company, Ramali didn’t hold a high position, but since the real higher-ups had fled early, fearing reprisals, Ramali was one of the more powerful figures on-site. He promptly arranged for personnel to head to the port to welcome them, and he also asked his driver to take the shuttle machine to the port for the reception.

Nestor Corporation!

Just thinking about this recently risen, renowned enterprise sent shivers through Ramali. Its rise was a complete mystery. Rumors circulated that they relied on the power of the Ancient Witch, while internal reports detailed how they quickly defeated the New Xisheng Group with their light-equipped Synthetic Human soldiers, and the Cyber Specter ruled supreme in the realm of information warfare.

And now he was about to welcome them into Charo Island. With this in mind, Ramali couldn’t help but adjust his tie, seeking some fresh air.

A large transport ship docked at the port, its metal gangway lowered. Tall soldiers from the Nestor Legion cleared the way, followed by squads of Elite Soldiers. Port workers and citizens pointed and whispered uneasily at the new company’s soldiers moving in.
