Upon hearing the words, the two enforcers took deep breaths, not relaxing their guard at all, but kept a close watch on Lu Jing, making her feel uncomfortable.

"Put it down," commanded a muscular woman.

Lu Jing could only hold her breath and, following their request, left her sword outside, which took a considerable effort to find a relatively clean spot to place it.

It was like an animal losing its claws. With each step she took, she became more cautious and anxious. Lu Jing looked up and saw that she was already far from the bustling room above, but she had to go down.

"Let you have a little glimpse of... our gang’s treasure," the leader said as she opened a compartment door, with a blast of cold air hitting them.

Lu Jing saw a girl with bright white, short hair peppered with deep red and sky blue highlights that made her look all the more enchanting.

She was lying on her back in a bathtub filled with ice cubes, a black mouth mask fitted with breathing valves on her face, her eyes tightly shut, her body covered with modifications from her ankles to her shoulders, including the typical strip seams that are essential when fitting prosthetic limbs to the original body.

Her clothes were hung on the bathroom wall, just a pale canvas coat and pitch-black shorts and top, with four sharpened blades of varying lengths hanging beside them, all corporate products.

Metal shelves lined the surrounding walls, holding large, heavy black terminals, as well as six servers that flashed with red lights; these devices could provide additional computing power to her brain, while also integrating her brain into the entire equipment system.

Thick black cables as thick as fingers spread throughout the room. They converged into a main conduit line that plugged into the back of the girl’s head, connecting her brain to all the surrounding equipment.

"Hacker Witch," blurted out Lu Jing.

"She helps us ’make a little money,’" the leader said, leaning against the wall with the sound of her orange basketball shoes scraping the ground, "and we protect her completely while also helping her find other profitable gigs."

"She wants to get in touch with Nestor Corporation?"

"She wants to learn from the tech experts there," the leader replied, "to uncover secrets from Cyber Specter, including how to dive deep and all that."

"Helis Sea," Lu Jing thought, "I want to learn too."

"She told me that all the big companies are using Helis Sea now, seems like it’s some awesomely powerful technology. From now on, if Rinne doesn’t learn how to dive deep, she might as well change careers," the leader said.

Lu Jing felt as if something was watching her and lifted her gaze to see white subtitles flashing on a screen mounted in the corner.

"Who is this stranger?" The white text blinked repeatedly.

"Someone from Nestor Corporation," the leader gestured towards the bathroom’s monitor.

She sees us and talks to us by typing on this screen, all just with a thought, Lu Jing considered.

"So she is inside the equipment now, she’s in the data now!" Lu Jing was fascinated by this state of affairs.

"Don’t make a fuss," the leader shrugged, "Regarding how much it costs to seek education from Nestor Corporation, we don’t know if we can pay in installments."

"Hard to say. Maybe it won’t cost a penny," Lu Jing explained.

Gunfire erupted outside, sniper rifles again. Lu Jing’s heart skipped a beat. Gunfire meant danger and death.

"Here we go again, they came by a few days ago," the leader said, looking up, "they... they seem to want to knock over our pool hall, to kill Rinne."

"No! The trouble’s ours and we’ll help defend the pool hall!" Lu Jing hurriedly said.

"Then be honest!" the leader ran out, "Are you Witch... go fight those ’Purifiers’!"

Just as Lu Jing was about to follow, she turned back at the sound of a massive, prolonged shutdown of machinery. All the rotating magnetic tracks ground to a halt, suddenly making the bathroom eerily quiet.

Her eyes widened as she watched the indicator lights on the equipment flick off one by one, the consciousness drifting within the devices slowly returning to her brain.

The two female thugs quickly entered, skillfully lifting Hacker Witch out of the tub. Lu Jing was awestruck by their figures; water flowed over their delicate, pale skin. One of them pressed a few buttons on a terminal, and lastly, forcefully pulled the cable out of the back of her head.

The Witch opened her eyes.

The female thugs quickly left the bathroom to support the defense of the pool hall. Hacker Witch walked to the wall, draped herself with her clothes.

"You’re Rinne?" Lu Jing asked as she gazed at her smooth back.

"Hmm."

"Wearing so little—aren’t you cold?" Lu Jing couldn’t help but ask.

Rinne put on her top, picked up her shorts, turned around to drape her white short jacket over her shoulders, and then took Lu Jing’s hand. Her cold, moist palm had an exquisite sensation, causing Lu Jing to not withdraw immediately.

"Warm now," Rinne said, fastening the four sharp blades to her black belt, and dashing out to join the battle. The previous disconnection of consciousness seemed to have no effect on her combat abilities at that moment.

"Wait for me!" Lu Jing looked at the water stains on her hand, and then quickly followed out, picking up her sword.

The pool hall was in constant fierce battle, and those who broke in were not random thugs but individuals in bulletproof armor!

Armed with submachine guns, they sprayed a hail of bullets into the hall indiscriminately, sending the thugs scattering. Lu Jing vaguely saw the figure of Seeking Shadow being swallowed up by enemies at the center.

"Careful!" Lu Jing stood at the basement staircase entrance, "Everyone, get down here!"

She beckoned the thugs to rush down to take shelter. Rinne had already jumped to the center of the pool room, swiftly drawing two daggers and hurling them towards her opponents.

The blades were extraordinarily sharp, capable of piercing through the weaker parts of the armor, causing two armed men who were hit to scream in agony. Her figure moved swiftly through the pool room.
