Chapter 501: Chapter 444: Declaration of War_2
"If the enemy air force breaks through our lines, let Big Pan handle the interception," Wei Shiyue mused, "Her martial skills are unparalleled, and the Iron Wings allow her to hunt down enemy fighters."
One by one, red arrows were marked on the display board, indicating the fierce and fast-paced corporate warfare that would befall the New Xisheng Group with a fatal surprise attack in the coming days.
Farosa felt like a wolf ready to devour the biggest pig in history. They were ready to kill, to tear apart, to wreak havoc, reducing the New Xisheng Group of the Northern Archipelago to pieces.
Their military meeting lasted for two hours, augmented with strategic data provided by the Hundred-eyes Demon to aid in decision-making.
In such times, the Hundred-eyes Demon became a dual-faced existence. It was a neutral tool accessible to both sides.
Nestor Corporation used the Hundred-eyes Demon to steal information from the New Xisheng Group, who in turn, used it to simulate the war situation. As an artificial intelligence, it served both sides impartially without favoritism.
"Speed is of the essence," Lila said, "We need to eliminate 90% of the enemy’s resistance forces as quickly as possible. Otherwise, ceaseless cyber-attacks, diplomatic isolation, sanctions, blockades, and smear propaganda will make our progress difficult."
"The enemy has three space motherships: the Orochi, Chika Island, and the Yokozuna," Wei Shiyue summed up, "We can take down one or two of them at a lower cost, but there will always be one posing a threat, no matter what."
"I will personally deal with any that slip through the net," Farosa stood up.
"With what will you... bring down a mothership?" Wei Shiyue frowned, "You can’t fly."
"With a Godslayer Weapon," Farosa turned, preparing to head to Nangong Island to pull the Godslayer Weapon from the ground. All the previous boasts and promises were to be fulfilled; Farosa was set to make rivers run with blood.
Later, all military preparations were complete.
Lila set off to attend a business banquet.
At the neutral hotel located at the border between Shangjing and Anjiu City, under the supervision of third-party security personnel, she met with many key members of the New Xisheng Group.
Among them were Yuan Chaozong, president of Xisheng Defense; Aoyagi Jiro, chairman of Xisheng Industrial; Witch Yuan Zhenzhen; Zina Tenjouin, new president of Kyoto Infinity; Quantum Warrior, and the captain of Orochi, Tenjouin Kiriyari... All heavyweight figures of the Northern Archipelago.
Thanks to the daring moves of Minamoto Makoto, the New Xisheng Group had fully integrated resources left by Kyoto Infinity and was applying to become a new giant corporation.
Currently, "Xisheng" was divided into three parts: the first being the New Xisheng Group of the Northern Archipelago; the second part was located in the Taixi Continent, mostly subsidiaries of Xisheng managed by Kurokawa Kana; the last was the Xisheng forces loyal to Honma Noriko, now receded in the Near East Region.
The high ranks of New Xisheng were right in front of Lila. She quietly observed them, holding her wine glass, casually socializing with them as if nothing was amiss.
After three rounds of drinks, they were all very surprised by Lila’s demeanor and attitude. They hadn’t expected the icy President Lila Nestor from the news interviews to be such a charming and graceful lady, cultured and knowledgeable, very comfortable to interact with.
"I hope we can become strategic partners," Yuan Chaozong approached Lila with his glass, "Nestor Corporation and New Xisheng Group have much to offer each other."
"Our cooperation will bring hope and dawn to the people of the Northern Archipelago," Minamoto Makoto came over in her evening dress, now more confident, her Blood Magic Ring shining menacingly on her finger, deterring others from acting rashly.
"Undoubtedly," Lila raised her glass and nodded at them.
"But the advertisement you’ve recently launched has crossed the line," Yuan Chaozong frowned, "Your ad points out that employees at Nestor Corporation work an average of 1760 hours a year, while those at New Xisheng Group work an average of 3556 hours a year. What do you mean by that?"
"It’s just a simple statement of statistical findings," Lila said indifferently.
"But it’s not statistically significant," Yuan Chaozong said with dissatisfaction.
"Excuse me, I am Tenjouin Shino. I’ve long admired your reputation, madam," Tenjouin Shino approached slowly, "Are you interested in investing in the animation industry? Establishing Nestor Animation Company?"
"That’s interesting," Lila nodded to her, "We also have very good comic artists now."
"I really look forward to that," Tenjouin Shino muttered, "There are many excellent ideas in our hands, just waiting for the funds."
Lila observed the bustling scene in the hall, where entrepreneurs and senior investors were chatting and laughing merrily.
She believed that companies in war would be entirely different, the responsibility of a company was limited, and people only needed to fulfill their contractual obligations. Capital, too, would flow to where the profit was substantial, with no allegiance to any corporation, forever following the winner.
As the clock struck midnight, the sound echoed, and the crowd’s excitement only increased. Lila thought by now everyone must have begun to take action.
"I believe you are currently the chair of the board of the New Xisheng Group," Lila approached Yuan Chaozong.
"Yes," Yuan Chaozong having drunk a lot, but appeared still very sober, "Is there something you want?"
"The Northern Archipelago is one of the territories demarcated by the Corporate Alliance," Lila took out a piece of paper from her bag and read softly, "Nestor Corporation and New Xisheng Group are both prominent enterprises in the Northern Archipelago. Respecting the clear rules established by the Corporate Alliance and adhering to the principle of fully pursuing market fairness and legitimately vying for territories, as of today, I declare corporate war on your group. We shall take decisive military action against all of your unyielding industrial factories, military targets, and strategic bases within your territory, until every economic entity and contract association you have in the Northern Archipelago ceases completely, and the entire Northern Archipelago becomes the territory of Nestor Corporation."
She handed the declaration of war to Yuan Chaozong, then turned and left.
The entire hall fell into a brief silence.
"What, what did she just say?"
"Did I hear that wrong?"
"A corporate war... against the New Xisheng Group!" People’s hearts overflowed with the fear of war, uncertainty about the future, and a sudden rise in sense of crisis.
"Unleash the dogs of war!" Minamoto Makoto recalled a line from a play she had seen on the Taixi Continent, which was a resounding phrase within it. At that time, she had little thought about the line, but now she could vividly feel thousands of burly, bloodthirsty hounds breaking their chains and rushing towards her, eager to feast on flesh and blood.
"Let’s go, Nestor Corporation could raid here at any moment!" Tenjouin Kiriya swung his arms decisively and shouted, "Corporate war has erupted! We’re now in a wartime state! Fortune favors the bold!"
He swiftly went back to dispatch the Orochi, people evacuated rapidly, and the lights in the hotel dimmed behind him.
An era had ended, with no turning back!
