Chapter 462: Chapter 413 Ninja Scrolls
The Bloodshadow Group donned their armor and wielded their swords, organizing their weaponry and utilizing miniature communication devices to pass messages among themselves, ensuring they operated as a single entity. They then proceeded towards the Junyue Hotel.
Their adversaries were members of Nestor Corporation, a security company. The combatants sent by them were surely not easy to handle, so they needed to prepare carefully.
Now at two in the morning, the city lights still shone brightly and brilliantly. Under the illumination of colorful lights, the ninjas’ movements remained secret.
Ninjas must engage in shadowy deeds, supporting the grand schemes of the powerful, a natural principle. They were well aware of this and willingly faced danger.
One of them invoked an invisibility technique and slipped into the hotel’s ground-floor bar. They connected to the network interface, stealthily linking with the building’s entire system. While relaying intelligence, they also pilfered information, and kept watch on the comings and goings of guests, standing guard at the entrances.
Following that, the Bloodshadow Group divided into two teams, three investigated the hotel rooms while the other three went to the VIP helipad to check out the Purple Wind.
Like mist and shadow, modern ninjas donned optical camouflage cloaks, prepared various ninjutsu, and were well-trained and capable, moving freely on the battlefield. Infiltration, their core competency, was executed to perfection.
Before long, they had bypassed hotel security and reached the floor where Nestor Corporation’s guests were staying. Under the dim lights, the ninjas moved unseen, weightlessly gliding along corridors, running along walls, and pinpointing their targets.
There were two rooms booked. According to the guest list, one was occupied by Wei Shiyue and a staff member. The other room was peculiar, registered only to the three-year-old Witch Xu Cheng, which wasn’t part of their mission targets.
Their focus was on Wei Shiyue’s own room; three ninjas intended to infiltrate and give her a "welcome gift." It was said that Wei Shiyue was an incarnation of the Moon White Divine Dragon, and they wanted to see if the rumors were true.
They confirmed their positions, one listened through the wall to check on the situation, only hearing silence within, indicative of someone sleeping.
The other two climbed over the wall and clung to the edge of the window, stealthily observing the interior. After exchanging a glance, they found a window that wasn’t fully closed, promptly disabled the alarm using their tools, and then the three reconvened and slipped inside.
The Bloodshadow Group saw two women lying on the big bed, sleeping foot-to-foot, both in a deep slumber and dressed in nightwear. The Moonlight Princess had snow-white hair as reported, an enchanting frosty white. The other woman had a lean build, resembling a high school girl, hugging a pillow.
As was their custom, the Bloodshadow Group left a kunai on the table, its tip pointed at Wei Shiyue, a threat of this level of assassination was enough to terrify them come morning, demonstrating how powerful ninjas are, capable of infiltrating undetected with ease!
"Reached Wei Shiyue’s room, mission accomplished," the Bloodshadow Group whispered near the window, preparing to leave while silently reporting.
In a flash, they heard the sound of the wind and turned to see Wei Shiyue bounding from the bed, raising her hand, and from the void, a great axe appeared!
Taken by surprise, the three ninjas also displayed their abilities. One leapt out the window immediately, invoking a wall-walking technique, running at breakneck speed straight down the wall, aiming to create distance. The other two, unable to escape, resolved to confront Wei Shiyue in combat.
Wei Shiyue’s face was frosty as she carefully sought her enemies. Swinging the great axe, she aimed at one of the ninjas. He, in urgent response, deployed a substitution technique. The axe hit the ninja, only to chop through a log! Meanwhile, the real ninja instantly moved behind Wei Shiyue, stabbing fiercely towards her back with a ninja sword, piercing her deeply and leaving a severe wound.
The ninja had gotten the upper hand and was about to twist the blade to enlarge the wound when a sudden sharp pain flashed through the back of his head. His body went limp and fell, already dead upon hitting the ground.
Disturbed by the noise, Du Qianqian got up from her bed, clenched her teeth, and used the King of Illusions to eliminate her enemy.
There was one final ninja in the room.
"Aaargh!" He instantly threw shurikens towards Wei Shiyue and Du Qianqian. Fearing for Du Qianqian’s safety, Wei Shiyue quickly turned to the side and raised her hand, letting shurikens hit her right shoulder and wrist; the poison immediately began to take effect, causing her to feel dizzy and fatigued.
In the face of crisis, her dragon blood surged. Wei Shiyue let out a low growl, grabbed her axe with her right hand, and drew a sharp arc in the air with her left, conjuring the Moonlight Ritual which instantly produced two Lunar Spears that struck towards the ninja.
Facing the Lunar Spears flying towards him, the ninja deftly maneuvered around the room. After the spears hit the wall and dissipated with a sound, leaving behind dents.
Before the ninja could decide whether to fight or flee, Wei Shiyue was already charging at him with her great axe!
She struck the ninja with precise force, instantly inflicting a huge wound that split his body in two, with each half falling forward and backward as blood gushed out.
"Little Wei!" Du Qianqian, seeing Wei Shiyue covered in blood, was terrified.
"I have Dragon Scale and dragon blood; any wound can heal," Wei Shiyue said as she pulled out the embedded weapons and threw them away, panting heavily, "It was the boss who woke me up. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have noticed these strange fellows."
"They’re ninjas!" Du Qianqian, seeing the attire of the corpses and the masking illusions, was horrified, "And there are others..."
At that moment, three other ninjas were watching the Purple Wind, hiding in the dark, waiting for an opportunity.
The ship was equipped with high-quality anti-surveillance components, making it impossible to see inside. One ninja approached from a blind spot in the ship’s camera, climbed onto the top of the shuttle machine, and looked down.
He squinted, sensing something shining faintly in the darkness. Then, the top of the shuttle machine slid open swiftly. The ninja jumped to the side as a witch in armor flew out from within, wielding a glittering War Spear as if a deity had descended!
"What is that!"
"Nice to meet you..." The ninjas gripped their ninja swords, ready for battle.
Pan Ruiyi, sensing someone prying, leaped straight out of the shuttle machine. Her combat experience was extremely rich, and she was very clear about the ninjas’ tricks. She quickly located the three hidden targets and threw her War Spear, piercing their bodies before they could react. Then, with a raise of her hand, she quickly retracted the blood-stained War Spear.
Offensive complete. Pan Ruiyi, bloodthirsty, twirled her long spear, and with the Iron Wings on her back beating powerfully, she charged like a predator at the second ninja. The opponent’s figure flashed, moving at an extremely high speed to distance themselves. However, this speed was still no match for the high-speed acceleration of the Iron Wings. Caught up to in an instant, Pan Ruiyi swung her massive spear like a soul-hunting Evil Beast, and in the blink of an eye pierced through the ninja’s back, impaling him!
"Ugh—" The ninja spat out fresh blood and died instantly on the spot.
The last ninja swiftly tossed a smoke bomb and executed an instant body-switching technique, leaping to the floor across from the hotel. He had just landed and hadn’t started moving when the War Spear came flying in from behind again! With such mass and speed, the War Spear was like a ten-thousand-pound hammer, smashing his body to pieces. His internal organs burst and exploded, and the upper half of his body was completely pulverized into a mist of blood.
Three people were killed in an instant.
Pan Ruiyi silently counted the time—it took just nineteen seconds. She would kill as many as came; there was no backing down. The enchanted weapon was brutal enough to match her ferocity.
Then, she lifted her arm high and summoned the War Spear back into her hand, shaking the blood off the spear, and looked at the scattered ninja corpses around her. The souls of the dead ninjas turned into bloody mist and vanished without a trace.
She secretly circulated her Magic Circuit and then went back to the living quarters of the hotel to check on the boss and Wei Shiyue.
"Boss!" Pan Ruiyi communicated over the internal channel, "Are you alright?"
"I’m fine." Xu Yang pressed the last key on the terminal.
Wei Shiyue killed two, Pan Ruiyi killed three, and there was one from the Bloodshadow Group who managed to flee. He rushed towards the lower level of the hotel, intending to meet with his comrades.
By the time he reached the bar, he saw his buddy ninja already charred all over, with network cables sticking out of his head, having been killed by a trojan program unknowingly!
The methods of Nestor Corporation...!
The member of the Bloodshadow Group turned to flee, but the hotel security personnel, now alerted, rushed to the scene, subdued him, and apologized to the guests while offering to do their best in the aftermath.
All seven members of the Bloodshadow Group were killed in action at Junyue Hotel, falling to Nestor Corporation’s security personnel.
The news spread secretly, and all who heard of it could not help but respect.
The Bloodshadow Group, a formidable faction among the ninja community, was erased overnight from the secret front in Shangjing. Enterprises, mercenaries, criminal gangs, and various secret powers with informed networks, suddenly updated their perception of Nestor Corporation.
They cracked open a corner of Shangjing’s ironclad defense with their absolute strength.
Based on intelligence, Nestor Corporation merely dispatched a single combatant, yet they could easily defeat all the ninjas, making them more apprehensive. Seven ninjas proficient in Ninjutsu all attacked at once, and nobody could say they could solve the problem at a low cost, but Nestor Corporation did.
Therefore, the strategies originally designed against Nestor Corporation also needed to be rethought.
Ninja Master Lukano Masato, upon hearing of the death of his seven disciples, felt a complicated mix of deep sorrow and contemplation.
Embarrassment and sorrow came first, followed by relief. Had he been the one to strike, he was sure to return unharmed, but the outcome would not be optimistic.
From the onset of the incident to their total defeat, it had taken just 30 minutes, an indication of the bloody chaos that ensued.
"Ninjas," Minamoto Makoto communicated with Lukano Masato, "To put it impolitely, are just a bunch of trash."
Lukano Masato didn’t get angry, as outsiders didn’t understand the difference between a Ninja Master and an ordinary ninja.
"It’s time to transfer the funds to my account," Lukano Masato pretended to be light-hearted.
He knew his Bloodshadow Group was very formidable, and if they were annihilated like this, it only indicated that the enemy was extraordinarily beyond the norm.
"What?" Minamoto Makoto didn’t understand, "You suffered a complete defeat, and you still expect the company to hire you?"
"Think about it," Lukano Masato said, "Facing such a powerful Nestor Corporation, you should hire the strongest ninja for day and night protection. In the event your company fails in battle one day and Nestor Corporation’s blade is upon you, only then will the ninjas have the ability to escort you away from danger."
"Idiot." Minamoto Makoto cut off the communication, unable to stop thinking about the terrifying possibility. If Nestor Corporation waged a corporate war with the aim of unifying the Archipelago, how would they respond?
Her breathing heavy, she pondered for a solution.
The next day at noon, Nanase Kizuna finished up her minor tasks and rushed to Junyue Hotel as fast as she could.
"I’ve heard about the terrible attack that occurred last night." Nanase Kizuna bowed deeply to Wei Shiyue, "Please allow me to express my deepest apologies!"
"It’s nothing." Wei Shiyue had indeed mostly recovered. Normally, she’d need to be bombed to cause some real damage; otherwise, she would heal quickly, "Let’s go record the song."
In the next room, Xu Yang had collected the ninjas’ weapons, scrolls, and various items, handing the scrolls to Little Fool to read and expand her horizons. Since there wasn’t much here suitable for a child’s entertainment, he suggested she read about the path of the ninja.
"The magic formula used by ninjas is quite unique and requires devoted and solitary study to comprehend; it’s a path of cultivation far removed from the masses," Xu Yang told Little Fool.
"Quack, quack, quack, quack." Little Fool felt it suited her well. She opened the ninja’s scrolls and read their marvelous content, which included descriptions of the magical Ninjutsu used by ninjas—this reading was beneficial to her as well.
This was the first step to getting established. Xu Yang thought to himself. No one would be allowed to interfere with what they had to do here.
