Chapter 440: Chapter 395: Undead Technique

Du Qianqian looked at her in terror, leaning against the cold stone coffin, feeling as if her heart was about to stop.

Her body slumped down at an incredibly fast pace, like a balloon that had been pricked with a needle, sitting in front of the coffin.

"Are you Wei Shiyue?" Du Qianqian’s voice stammered.

She nodded her head, then commanded Du Qianqian to be silent.

Du Qianqian watched fixedly the one she had once transformed into—her true form was a dragon, a beautiful White Dragon. No wonder people adored dragons; such beautiful, agile, and graceful creatures seemed so out of place on this filthy ground.

Wei Shiyue’s human appearance was even more heroic, with silver-white hair tied back in a neat single braid, eyes the color of blood, an indifferent expression, and a cold demeanor as if her attention was never on Du Qianqian, exuding pure and flawless nobility.

She was tall, with a slender top and no pronounced curves. Pan Ruiyi was a full cup, Du Qianqian was a medium cup, and Wei Shiyue belonged to the small-medium cup category. When Du Qianqian’s gaze traveled downward, she noticed her clearly defined and robust abs; below the waist, she wore only a simple animal-hide skirt and went barefoot, showcasing spotless white feet that gave her a wildly unforgettable appearance.

"Change back to your original form," ordered Wei Shiyue.

"Oh," Du Qianqian could not help but revert to her original appearance, looking down at her own shabby attire, feeling ashamed in the presence of the Moonlight Princess.

"How did you find your way here?" Wei Shiyue interrogated, raising her right hand as moonlight flickered and a large silver axe appeared in her grasp, "The seals were my doing, and I’ve been watching you since you came in."

So, the people at the entrance had been killed by such an axe. Du Qianqian watched nervously, afraid her small frame could easily be chopped in two by the axe.

"I thought there would be something valuable here," Du Qianqian raised her hands, visibly unsettled.

"Indeed, there are valuables here." Wei Shiyue jumped to Du Qianqian’s side, spun around and with a kick, sent the coffin lid flying off. It was then that Du Qianqian saw the contents of the coffin—a mummified corpse wearing a yellow robe and a crown, its chest split open as if it had been killed by Wei Shiyue.

"Is that Li Yan?" Du Qianqian observed carefully.

"I came here three years ago," Wei Shiyue placed the axe on her shoulder, "I also found the Art of Immortality."

So, she was still alive, hiding in this graveyard. Du Qianqian thought to herself. The outside world would go mad if they knew this news.

"Did you just hack your way in here? Was Li Yan powerful?" Du Qianqian’s wide eyes were full of curiosity as she couldn’t stop asking questions, "And what’s the relation between you and that dead dragon outside? Shouldn’t that one be you?"

"Speak less," Wei Shiyue scolded, and Du Qianqian dared not even breathe too loudly.

We Shiyue’s appearance was stunning, and her aura oppressively strong. Du Qianqian sighed internally. Being an idol seemed too petty, and being a warrior seemed too wasteful, but being a Dragon Clan Princess was just right.

Clearly, Wei Shiyue was proficient in a variety of spells; Du Qianqian saw her easily summoning runes in the air, creating Moonlight Miracles, seemingly all spells developed by Wei Shiyue herself. She handled each as if second nature, constantly casting one incantation after another in midair to nurture both her soul and body, seemingly in the process of healing.

"Who do you work for?" asked Wei Shiyue.

"I am an explorer, a freelance mercenary," Du Qianqian explained quickly, afraid of getting into trouble for saying the wrong thing.

"People have been coming in before you," said Wei Shiyue, "Most were scared away, and those who were particularly troublesome were killed. You’re different from the others; you are the first witch to break into the cave."

"I must be very brave," Du Qianqian couldn’t help boasting about herself.

"Don’t be slippery; is your magic power to transform? Try to become like me," Wei Shiyue commanded.

"I can’t do that," Du Qianqian lied, "I can only transform into a very limited number of figures... It’s not as if I can become whatever I want to."

"Hmm." Wei Shiyue sat down on the ground, "What’s the situation outside? Tell me truthfully."

"There’s a war going on." Du Qianqian gave a concise introduction of the happenings outside, explaining how intensely the war unfolded, and how the Righteous Army was desperately fighting against the Modern Entertainment Company.

"They fight so valiantly even without me?" Wei Shiyue sneered.

Du Qianqian paused for a moment.

Not at all; without Wei Shiyue, the Righteous Army seemed as if their souls were drained, unable to engage in the war. As soon as Du Qianqian brought Wei Shiyue’s image back, they all became fearless warriors once again. It showed that Wei Shiyue was their spiritual pillar, akin to a deity.

But to explain this would inevitably lead to her own experience of transforming into Wei Shiyue. Moreover, that experience was not entirely flawless; she had let out such an exaggerated laugh that, if discovered by Wei Shiyue, she would likely receive an axe to the forehead.

"If you return, they would surely be very excited," Du Qianqian quickly added.

"Too dangerous," Wei Shiyue gazed towards the dark stone palace, "I need to lie low here for a while. This graveyard makes a good shelter, just need to close the coffin lid and not look at Li Yan’s skeleton."

She planned to stay here? But, the situation couldn’t afford the delay. Du Qianqian thought to herself.

The man from Fraternity Company, named Enkai, said that if it were dragged out too long, the Righteous Army would be destroyed by the Modern Entertainment Company’s counterattacks, perhaps never to recover. If Wei Shiyue stayed in this Shiyin Grand King Cave, then it was the end for the Righteous Army.

With that in mind, Du Qianqian felt surprised once again.

Why did she find herself caring about this Righteous Army? Was it because she thought of the slaughtered villagers?

Human life was cheap, and in times of chaos, no different from pigs and dogs—ideals, kinship, all trampled in the mud, crushed under the muzzle of guns. Cheap emotions! Du Qianqian reminded herself yet again.

"If you really are Wei Shiyue," Du Qianqian whispered, "would you not care about those Righteous Army soldiers who fought alongside you?"

"They adore me, just like the fans in front of the cameras," Wei Shiyue sat on the edge of a coffin, sharpening her large axe with a moonstone. "They don’t even know who I am."

"I’m here for the money," Du Qianqian said, puzzled. "Do you know where I can get some?"

"Li Gaoping has money," Wei Shiyue sneered. "Go to Yidu City and kill him, you’ll definitely find money, and he also has an old space mothership docked in the port for show. But we don’t have the military power or enough Battle Witches; holding Yaoyin Mountain is good enough. If Anberly sends troops southward, it’ll only bring trouble upon himself."

With military power and Battle Witches, they could take down Li Gaoping, this trillionaire tycoon. Du Qianqian reflected inwardly.

"I know someone who could..." Du Qianqian quickly said, "I know! I know who can send troops at this time! All elite troops, all very powerful Witches! With a high enough price, I can guarantee they possess the strongest combat power in the world!"

"Speak," Wei Shiyue urged.

"Nestor Corporation!" As Du Qianqian mentioned the company’s name, she couldn’t help but puff up her chest. "As long as the money is right, Nestor Corporation can help you achieve any wish! Even if it’s unifying all of Silla!"

Wei Shiyue pondered seriously for a moment.

"I’ve never heard of this company," she said.

"But I’ve dealt with them a lot," Du Qianqian said with a smile, "Please let me be the envoy and make a trip, I guarantee your satisfaction."

"We’ll see," Wei Shiyue said calmly. "Such cooperation requires a great cost."

She didn’t seem particularly eager to unify Silla. Du Qianqian thought to herself.

Facing the enigmatic Moonlight Princess, she could only be cautious and didn’t dare to speak any further.

"Bring it out," Wei Shiyue went on. "I don’t want to snatch it from your hands."

With a sigh in her heart, Du Qianqian had no choice but to take out the potable water and Nutrient Paste she had brought with her to share with Wei Shiyue.

It was only when they actually made contact that Du Qianqian realized her body seemed to be semi-transparent, still undergoing some kind of transformation.

"What have you come to the Ground to do?" Du Qianqian asked.

"To unify the world," Wei Shiyue said simply.

"Ah?"

"To unify the world, didn’t you hear me?" Wei Shiyue said while eating the Nutrient Paste and raising her axe. "I will gather the armies on the ground, fire at the moon, kill my arrogant and selfish father, the most shameless and evil lowlife, a frivolous and vile monster. As long as it lives one more day, I can’t rest easy."

"Hah..." Du Qianqian murmured, "That sounds extremely difficult."

"Humans are strange and weak, blind to the true nature of things," Wei Shiyue said in a condescending tone. "Occasionally, they can reproduce some good things, like weapons that can injure dragons. But for the most part, they’re busy scurrying about, divided, distrustful, and insulting each other. This is the confidence I have in conquering the human world. What about you? Have you ever seen my performance; what do you really know about me?"

"No, I don’t know," Du Qianqian said, feeling guilty. "Only that Wei Shiyue is... something about a Moonlight Princess."

"So you haven’t seen my live performances," Wei Shiyue said with a smile, "My fans say I have the best-looking legs in the world, that my performances are electrifying, my albums sold over five million, packed houses at every concert. But that’s all quite a while ago—idol industry, as seasons change, so do fates, in a blink of an eye."

Privately, Du Qianqian compared herself and found that compared to the radiant, vigorous Wei Shiyue, she was like a rat from the gutter! So thin and shriveled.

"You’re very beautiful," Du Qianqian admitted. "Really, it’s frightening, this sort of..."

Excellence, beauty, as if shining. She was just a Witch from a poor peasant family, while Wei Shiyue was the Moonlight Princess, a descendant of some mighty Giant Dragon, experiencing life among the mortals. This thought clenched around Du Qianqian’s heart, leaving her breathless.

"Indeed, everyone agrees," Wei Shiyue said seriously. "But people really don’t know what kind of person I am. Just like the Righteous Army, they know nothing of my true intentions. Most of them just think ’fighting alongside a dragon’ is cool. Okay, I need to cultivate, don’t wander around here. Once I’ve recovered my Power, I will lead you out of this cave. You were too bold coming here, also interrupting my recovery."

Not daring to speak further, Du Qianqian sat in the depths of the chamber, quietly watching Wei Shiyue practice her craft. She glanced at the coffin again, as if she could envision Li Yan in the tomb, studying the Art of Immortality in solitude, all the while inadvertently aiding Wei Shiyue.

This was a tomb already plundered by Wei Shiyue, the Undead Technique and wealth’s freedom increasingly distant from Du Qianqian.

Staying in the cave at the coercion of Wei Shiyue made Du Qianqian miss Shijin Mansion all the more. To return home... how she yearned to go home.

Wei Shiyue was a strong and confident woman. It was hard to imagine who could subdue her. What was even more terrifying was that she possessed a confidence money couldn’t buy, and Du Qianqian, no matter how rich, could never be as self-assured as Wei Shiyue, for hers was innate.

Someone of her noble and illustrious stature would shine and radiate warmth wherever she went, becoming the center of attention. Du Qianqian thought. And she could only be a strange, marginalized shapeshifter, surviving on other people’s appearances, constantly having to change her form, because who needs Du Qianqian’s own face?

Du Qianqian found the last bottle of mineral water from her pocket, twisted off the cap, and gulped it down to ensure she wouldn’t be thirsty for a while. Then she tilted what was left of the half-full bottle over her head, letting the water wash over her, hiding the tears streaming down her face.
