Chapter 395: Chapter 355 Shedding Skin
```
After surviving the great ordeal between life and death, Farosa still felt her heart race with fear. Wrapped in a newborn’s body, she was enveloped by a rainbow cloak that shone with iridescent light, and its fabric was stained with orange gel.
The warm breeze blew across the island as Farosa, clutching the cloak, rose to her feet. The teleportation portal left by Mond stood on the island like a disk, encircled by an arc of light. The center of the light ring was a glassy, semi-transparent conductor, through which one could vaguely discern the scenery on the other side.
The closer it got to this moment, the more she longed for Xu Yang. The seven-day struggle with the phantom personalities left her feeling lost, and the drastic changes in both body and mind made her uncomfortable.
"Aren’t you going to hurry up?" she urged.
Once Xu Yang had been fetched by the witches and passed through the portal, Farosa sent the other witches back to Shijin Mansion.
On the white-sand, azure-sky Nangong Island, they were left alone, facing each other. She took a deep breath, her chest heaving with intense fluctuation. As a newly ascended New God, her heart still trembled incessantly.
"It’s sticky," Xu Yang noticed the orange viscous substance on her body.
"Like amniotic fluid," Farosa peeled the orange film that covered her skin. It clung so tightly that peeling it off felt as though she was tearing away a new layer of skin.
Shedding skin, Farosa thought to herself, this is the symbol of eternal life.
"You’ve become even more..." Xu Yang observed carefully. Farosa looked exactly the same as before, with no differences, but her touch was even more mysterious, as if divinely bestowed. Her entire demeanor also transformed, appearing like a deity that descended upon the world, so intoxicating that one could not bear to shift their gaze.
"First, it’s the transformation of the body," Farosa set down the rainbow cloak and sat on the ground, allowing Xu Yang to peel off the last of the gel as she closed her eyes and breathed evenly. "This body is much more resilient, in every aspect. Ordinary swords probably can’t hurt me anymore. But you’ll need to explore a bit. I guarantee that 99 percent of my appearance is preserved, though I’m still unclear about the inside."
"How is it that the portal is only open for half an hour?" Xu Yang was skeptical. "If we miss the return time, we’ll have to stay for a week."
"Then you’d better hurry," Farosa stood up and bent over with her back to him, "Oh, to personally forge a new frontier, isn’t this the true meaning of ’perfect fit between two people’?"
Through driving piles, the foundation became more stable. In incessant tempering, all forms took shape.
For the first time in her life, Farosa encountered such high-speed maneuvering; it was dizzying and bewildering. Xu Yang sensed nothing unusual, only feeling an even greater richness than before, beyond words—after all, Farosa had undergone a complete transformation and was no longer a common being.
Xu Yang wrapped Farosa in the newly acquired rainbow cloak.
"Shall we go back?" Holding Farosa in his arms, Xu Yang looked towards the Godslayer Weapon, still left on the island.
"Leave it here," Farosa still didn’t want to bring the Godslayer Weapon back to reality.
Xu Yang carried Farosa back through the portal to the 13th floor of Shijin Mansion, into the teleportation room. Pan Ruiyi sat on the sofa nearby, very concerned about Farosa’s condition.
"Are you okay?" she asked anxiously.
"Exceptionally well," Xu Yang took the flushed Farosa to the secret chamber, "I’ll make arrangements first."
During the process, he realized Farosa was extraordinarily weak. In Xu Yang’s experiences, Farosa had never seemed so passive before.
He placed Farosa on the spacious bed, with the rainbow cloak cushioning beneath her. She turned over lazily.
"It was too hard," Farosa curled up, still feeling fear when thinking about the confrontation with the phantom personalities, "To struggle with them for seven days."
When fighting others, one could always discern victory or defeat because eventually, someone would fall. But fighting oneself was completely different in nature. Even after the ritual had concluded, Farosa did not know who had truly won.
Farosa composed herself and began recounting her journey of the heart.
It was like an isolated island experiment, because the ritual had only seven days. If a single identity had not emerged by then, the Ascension plan would shatter, leaving no victor, no matter what.
So they immediately drew up camps. One faction rallied around the divine, preparing to let it take over all of Farosa; another supported scholarliness, wanting Farosa to uphold the light of rationality; and then there was mania, yearning to kill all other selves.
"There was one missing," Xu Yang listened to Farosa’s narrative. With so many phantom personalities emerging, there was a conspicuous absence of one.
```
"Who?" Farosa spoke with a ghostly tone.
"The master of lies." Xu Yang turned his head to look at Farosa, "Where did the little trickster Farosa go?"
"So this is a strange truth." Farosa sighed, "It proves one thing, my ’self’ is a nasty piece that likes to deceive and manipulate, everything is fabricated. If I had not designed other illusory personalities, only three of me should be left, a maniac, a deceiver, a god."
"This is an opportunity to see oneself clearly."
"I disguised myself as one of the illusions, fooled them, let their little alliance shatter, weakened, split, and eventually, I broke them one by one. Now my mindset might be a bit clearer, but the power has become even more muddled, needing digestion." Farosa said, "It’s like having two operating systems in a single terminal, always a bit troublesome, needing to switch back and forth. I must carefully train to ensure the fusion of both powers."
"What kind of divine power does the Witch Goddess possess?"
Farosa raised her hand, and from her fingertips flowed mercury-like beads, carrying the blinding light of a galaxy, the intense light was dazzling to the point of being unbearable, and the imposing divine glow certainly had an air of grandeur.
She transformed this divine power into a pure divine power blade, extending it in her hand, and thus a Star Soldier took shape.
"Divine power is the strongest type of energy." Farosa murmured, "Its destructive force and influence are unparalleled. I have always been stealthily using Ocean Divine Power, but now, I have divine power that’s completely my own, although it’s still very weak."
Ocean Divine Power came from consuming Orcian’s flesh; Solar Divine Power was a gift from Yan Duo. They were both wildly untamable, only Farosa’s own power was obedient, submissive at her command.
With this power within her, she could almost feel a closer connection to the dome of the starry sky, she had truly become the master of some higher power, which doubled Farosa’s joy and also signified more opportunities and risks.
"I left the Godslayer Weapon on Nangong Island, because now I have my own Divine Sword." Farosa twirled the Star Soldier in her hand, the manifestation of her pure divine power, not yet fixed in shape, still capable of transforming from sword to other forms, "I will call it ’Star Tamer,’ for I am the New God who reins the stars, not a puppet of extraterritorial forces."
"Many signs suggest that the Witch’s appearance is the conspiracy of the Galaxy." Xu Yang reflected.
"I know nothing of it." Farosa admitted, "Perhaps it’s because I am a Witch, so I cannot see it clearly."
Farosa turned the Star Tamer back into divine power essence and reabsorbed it into her soul. With her newly forged divine body and a soul permeated with faith and power, her entire being felt unusual in many ways, still needing time to absorb it all.
"Mond told me a lot about ancient civilizations." Xu Yang said.
"Those Ancient Mystics never talk to me." Farosa frowned, "They commanded me like a tool, making me memorize, making me slay gods, and afterward, they wanted to erase me into invisibility, never willing to share their hearts with me."
"Neither did I," Xu Yang closed his eyes, hands clasped behind his head, "Whether what Mond says is true or false, no one knows. We can only wait until I myself enter the Xisheng Shrine and investigate this ’Giant Tower’ he spoke of."
"I still need time to practice my new power." Farosa pulled out the Rainbow Cloak she had kept under control and urged Xu Yang to open his eyes and look, "This is a byproduct of the ritual, a piece of clothing, and it relates to what everyone imagines of me. They all believe that this is a magical garment worthy of my power."
Farosa, in front of Xu Yang, donned the Rainbow Cloak and tied it, and an even more dazzling halo-like aura appeared around her, shimmering enchantingly.
"It’s too beautiful..." Xu Yang reached out to touch it, flawless.
"This brilliance will cause the Witches to fear," Farosa wrapped in the Rainbow Cloak sat on the bed edge, "They’ll become speechless, mute, ashamed of themselves. And that’s how it should be, after all, I am the most powerful Witch of this era, the strong must suppress the weak."
Xu Yang thought Farosa might have some eager words to say, but there were none, she just suddenly fell silent, then showed a weary and relieved smile.
"I’m too tired." She closed her eyes, leaning on Xu Yang, "I really am exhausted, and for the next while, I will do nothing."
"I’ll take care of other things, you just rest assured." Xu Yang comforted.
For her, these seven days had been the longest. Farosa closed her eyes, breathing evenly.
"Mond invites us to form an alliance." Xu Yang said, "To go to the Moonlight Garden, it sounds like a secluded place suitable for resting."
"Yes, I’ve heard of it from the descriptions of its followers. It is indeed quiet. I could take a look," Farosa nestled against Xu Yang, "...to rest there for a
