"Please...," Nanase Kizuna let out a pained moan, "...Reisei... why... has it come to this... What do you want me to do?"

"Go and talk to Nanase Kizuna," Lila commanded Du Qianqian.

Du Qianqian swallowed.

Alright, here came the tough part; how was she supposed to convince this fox spirit to stop?

"...You’re too tired," Du Qianqian stopped in her tracks, looking in the direction of Nanase Kizuna, "Have you been having a hard time lately?"

"Without you, I simply... can’t run the whole company alone, there’s too much to do..." Nanase Kizuna heard the voice of Reisei Kirino, it was lying on the ground, its nerves fatigued from the drugs, and its voice was getting weaker and weaker.

To hear Nanase Kizuna’s voice more clearly, Du Qianqian had to take the risk of getting closer; she didn’t have much magic power left, only enough to support about three more minutes of transformation.

"No regrets!" Du Qianqian finally said, then quickly ran towards the depths of the bamboo forest. As she fled, her magic completely disappeared, and she reverted to her original form, feeling extremely exhausted, tumbling and falling to the ground.

"Don’t be nervous! I am Lila Nestor," she said, "The president of Nestor Corporation. I’m currently searching for the whereabouts of Sakura Witch Reisei Kirino... My magic is perception, and I sensed in you the same aura as Miss Reisei Kirino."

Nanase Kizuna knew the charade was up, but was still feeling dizzy and wasn’t in a state to handle things.

"...Give me an emergency blanket first," Nanase Kizuna muttered, "It’s a long story."

Lila wrapped Nanase Kizuna up tightly with a blanket, then summoned a small medical Shuttle Machine and had Nanase Kizuna brought on board, letting her lie down on a medical bed.

"I won’t tell anyone what I saw today," Lila assured Nanase Kizuna.

Nanase Kizuna’s mind was in turmoil.

From her perspective, everything that happened today was terrifying. First, being shot down, then chased by strangers, just barely finding Reisei Kirino, only to fall into illusions and unconsciousness, resulting in a total dreamlike experience—was there something strange about that bamboo forest?

"Kyoto Infinity has been searching for you," Lila handed a communication panel to Nanase Kizuna, "Could you please let everyone know you’re safe?"
