Chapter 356: Chapter 324: Searching for Repeat Offenders

Early the next morning, 102 rushed to Xu Yang with a long sigh and a short gasp.

"Ah!" she sighed heavily.

"What do you want to do." Xu Yang had just woken up and was still making coffee and mixing baby formula, while Little Fool lay in the corner, wrapped in several layers of blankets to keep warm.

"Just this and that..." 102 murmured, full of displeasure, sharing her concerns about how Du Qianqian had tricked her into purchasing a shuttle machine, "Iron Shell..."

Xu Yang put the baby bottle next to Little Fool, and she opened her eyes and sat up to drink.

"According to the company regulations, Du Qianqian deceived her own people and should be confined to the dark room for a month," Xu Yang said.

"Eh!" 102’s eyes widened, "Then I don’t want that."

"Company regulations can’t be sorted just because you don’t want them," Xu Yang said.

"I shouldn’t have told you," 102 turned around and walked out, full of anger.

"She did something bad, and naturally, she should be punished," Xu Yang followed 102, "She took advantage of your kindness, making you pay all the money while she reaped the benefits. That’s something we cannot accept."

"What about Iron Shell?" 102 looked bewildered, "Our big Iron Shell."

"It’s yours," Xu Yang said, "Since you paid for it in full, it belongs solely to you."

"But I bought it for everyone," 102 said more and more sadly, her eyes brimming with tears, "By doing this, do I become the bad guy? Qianqian will hate me."

"Let’s sort things out one by one..." Xu Yang said, "Do you want to keep Iron Shell?"

"Yes!"

"Do you consider it your private property, or the asset of our company?"

"Um... it’s the company’s asset."

"Then that settles it, just file for reimbursement with me. Treat it as if the company’s finances bought a company asset vessel; you should never have had to pay out of your own pocket." Xu Yang handed 102 a cash card with 990,000 funds, "Now, Iron Shell is a company asset, and the usage rights belong to the members of the Witch Division. You are hereby appointed as the captain of Iron Shell, with the command of the entire vessel, and anyone who wants to use this ship must get your approval."

"Yes!" 102 stood up straight and saluted Xu Yang.

"Hmm..." Xu Yang looked at 102, "Your identities can now be registered legally."

"Legally?"

"You sisters have two unactivated identities within the Corporate Alliance," Xu Yang explained, "And now we have a legitimate company—New World Mechanism, which can help you sisters re-register your identities. From now on, even if Black Fire Innovation’s people come, they have no right to take you away, and it also resets the bounties on you, so you can show your true faces without any issues."

was somewhat surprised.

"What about you?" she asked, "Can Xu Yang, the man from the company, still walk under the daylight?"

"That would be difficult." Xu Yang shrugged, "Not until we grow to a point where we can stand toe to toe with the giant corporations will the day come for me to remove my mask."

"Then I don’t want it," 102 said, "I don’t need a good identity, let’s be bad guys together!"

"...Alright." Xu Yang sighed.

"Hehe," 102 clenched her fists, "How about Qianqian? Does she not have to sit in the dark room anymore?"

"She still needs to be punished," Xu Yang said, "I’ll send Du Qianqian to atone for her sins by investigating the situation with Hosoda Yoshiyuki."

"She’ll get beaten up on her own." 102 was startled, "Let me accompany her, we’ll take Iron Shell."

"The mission is best completed covertly," Xu Yang said, "If it gets to the point where you need to intervene, it means we’ve come to blows with Hosoda Yoshiyuki. This man has a strong will to fight and won’t just let things go."

"Then I must join Qianqian on this departure," 102 nodded resolutely, "If I take a bullet, I can still bounce around, but Qianqian will be in bed for weeks!"

"Then... set off, and keep in touch," Xu Yang nodded, "I’ll send you the relevant information."

"Yay!" 102 ran and jumped downstairs, meanwhile calling Du Qianqian’s name, "Qianqian—Qianqian we’re going to work!"

was silent, emerging from the shadows. As soon as she saw 102 heading to the top floor, she probably knew what 102 wanted to do, and now, after hearing the conversation between 102 and Xu Yang, the resentment in her heart became unbearable.

"I want to kill Du Qianqian again." 101 angrily told Xu Yang, "Why can she do bad things with such peace of mind? And Pan Ruiyi, she must have known what was going to happen, yet she just watched 102 use the cash card without interfering! That’s 990,000 funds!"

"I understand..." Xu Yang nodded, "Du Qianqian is a handful."

wanted to say more but didn’t want to contradict Xu Yang; she just turned her head away, her eyes filled with hatred.

As time passed, Xu Yang noticed the differences between the twins becoming more apparent; 101’s eyes were sharper as if to use them as weapons, while 102’s gaze became gentler, without any hostility.

As for dealing with Du Qianqian, Xu Yang had his own plans.

The more he observed Du Qianqian, the more Xu Yang felt he saw Farosa from a long time ago, bad in every sense of the word, with pure and intense malice.

But he still had to observe.

Farosa had not a single shred of goodwill in her heart, so she needed constant company and guidance to prevent her from causing a cataclysmic disaster. As for Du Qianqian, she might still have some conscience left, which could gradually emerge as she grew.

"Give Du Qianqian a chance," Xu Yang said, "Now let’s go find Pan Ruiyi and have an honest talk with her. Being the oldest member of the Witch Council, it’s only natural that she should set an example."

teleported, disappearing and reappearing in the dining room.

"Xu Yang is looking for you," she said to Pan Ruiyi, who was eating.

"Huh?" Pan Ruiyi didn’t understand.

placed a hand on Pan Ruiyi’s shoulder.

"Ah!" Pan Ruiyi, still in the middle of chewing her meat with an iron fork in hand, found the meat dish and lamb chops before her vanished, and seeing Xu Yang in the hallway, she straightened immediately, "What’s going on?"

"You turned a blind eye to Du Qianqian deceiving 102." 101 said coldly, putting pressure on Pan Ruiyi before Xu Yang could speak.

"This... I..." Pan Ruiyi furrowed her brows, not liking being threatened by a witch weaker than herself like 101.

"So now let’s discuss you setting an example for the younger witches," Xu Yang said, "If you can lead them to unity and increase their cohesion, everyone will be happy. But if you bring your lazy, spiteful attitude to the New World Mechanism, that won’t look good."

Pan Ruiyi felt a murderous aura and, turning her head to see 101’s gaze, began to weigh her options. There were factions within the Witch Council, and since she was the last to join, she had to give them some face and maintain relationships.

After all, with Farosa present, the other six witches would eventually attain heights like hers, or even greater. So it was better not to do as she pleased, to avoid future troubles.

"Fine," she nodded, "I’ll make it up to 102."

"How will you do that?" 101 pressed.

"I will teach my martial arts to 102," Pan Ruiyi nodded seriously, "She will eventually become a powerful Dominator Witch. Before that, she needs to endure more rigorous trials, focus on the basics of martial arts exercises, better coordinate with the additional mobility provided by Witch Armor, and the flight system of Iron Wings, and then she can dominate the battlefield just like me."

nodded silently, somewhat satisfied with the solution for now. She knew she had to stand up for 102, even though 102 was becoming more doubtful of her and even drifting away. Currently, 102 was willing to get close to anyone—Shallow Dream, Bud, Young Witches, even Du Qianqian—and could go days without speaking a word to 101.

Seeing that the situation had been resolved, 101 left with a sense of defeat.

"So 101 also needs a lesson," Pan Ruiyi murmured a complaint to Xu Yang, "Why so fierce, and interrupting me during mealtime?"

"No helping it," Xu Yang said, "If you had stopped Du Qianqian earlier, it would have been fine."

"But I am also out of funds, of course, it should be 102 who pays." Pan Ruiyi looked Xu Yang over, "What about a new mission, where I can also earn some money?"

"There certainly is," Xu Yang said.

He pulled out an intercontinental mercenary contract for Pan Ruiyi to see, as many organizations and individuals had targeted her head, including some large-scale troops, which might arrive in Anjiu City at any moment.

"And also my former comrades from the Riot Control Mobile Unit." Pan Ruiyi was shocked, "Quite a few of them are planning to hunt me down."

"That’s natural." Xu Yang nodded, "You are almost one with them in honor and disgrace."

"...My identity is totally wanted, but if they come to hunt me down," Pan Ruiyi gazed at Xu Yang, "it means they will eventually overturn the report I submitted, dig your information out of the garbage heap, decide that I submitted false news, and start hunting you down again."

"Then let the pursuers from Kyushu High Pavilion be killed until their courage collapses," Xu Yang murmured, "One day, both of us can stand upright in this world."

"Hmph," Pan Ruiyi lifted her head proudly, "There will definitely be such a day!"

Meanwhile, 102 piloted the Iron Shell, pulling Du Qianqian onto the vessel, driving the large ship toward the back of Garbage Hill as mentioned in the intelligence report.

"Oh dear..." Du Qianqian flipped through the report, finding it rather troublesome, Hosoda Yoshiyuki! She was about to face a terrifying criminal.

In such fine weather, all she wanted was to sleep in her dorm, but turning to see 102’s excitement, she didn’t want to seem too negative. Du Qianqian was more melancholic than others, like a shadow that would scatter and wither when touched by 102’s sunlight.

"Why the long face!" 102 tinkered with the Iron Shell, finally setting the autopilot, then dashed over to Du Qianqian and plopped down on her knees, "Aren’t you happy to travel with the captain of Iron Shell?"

Du Qianqian had no interest in small talk and tried to lift 102 up, but it felt like trying to lift an entire block of concrete; impossible to budge.

"My knees are killing me..." Du Qianqian complained, looking outwards.

The Iron Shell was now approaching the rugged, towering Garbage Hill, artificial heaps of household trash formed into mountains of vast scale.

And this world would be left to the next generation. Du Qianqian thought. We witches have an end, but what have the next generations of humans done wrong to live with a world so full of defects?

"Are we flying too low?" Du Qianqian noticed the garbage mounds were getting closer and closer to the windows.

"Oh?" 102 looked at the control panel, realizing the autopilot had taken a resolute direct flight path, then it suddenly struck her that she had made a big mistake: she forgot to update the map, and the pre-stored data didn’t show the Garbage Hill as tall as it now was.

Bang!

The Iron Shell bravely plunged into the Garbage Hill, Du Qianqian was thrown from her seat and crashed against the ceiling of the cabin.
