Chapter 345: Chapter 314 Demigod Shell

Pan Ruiyi was startled. She wanted to pursue with the Iron Wings, but the entire armor was rendered inoperative by Mack’s Lightning Miracle. She had no choice but to turn back to support Farosa and use the Godslayer Weapon to annihilate the illusion of the Forest Master.

"Mack disappeared?" Xu Yang received the message and furrowed his brows.

"Last seen in the Rat Paths, moving toward the surface," Lila reported, detecting, "Anti-Magic Power materials were used; can’t track him anymore."

"I’ll have the Ratmen look for him," Xu Yang said as he connected the Rat Communicator.

"Many Ratmen will die," Guan Wancang heard Xu Yang’s message and prepared to send the entire Rat Clan into action but then felt worried.

"If it gets away, none of us will survive," Xu Yang said calmly.

By employing a new combat system and mobilizing all of Nestor Corporation’s fighting strength against Mack, if they allowed him to escape unscathed, then all of it would be meaningless. He would surely recover quickly and return to mock and toy with everyone anew!

At that moment, Mack turned into a weak little cat and squeezed into a crack in the distance. Extremely frail now, he hastily took out the Hermit Cloth and wrapped it around himself to block detection.

Lila Nestor was indeed in cahoots with these people. Throughout the battle, Mack could see a vast amount of Magic Power senses being sown. He must relay the message to Xisheng. Clearly, Nestor Corporation, New World Mechanism, and the Ancient Witches were all tarred with the same brush, merely covering for each other.

Bleeding, and to avoid detection, Mack hastened to heal himself so as not to be pursued.

The power of the Godslayer Weapon was indeed too formidable...

Made by several Ancient Mystics working together, the weapon was specifically created to annihilate gods and was entrusted to Farosa, a rising star in the Church. She did not disappoint, slaying gods and seizing the Throne of God.

All Mystics wanted to plunder the sword afterward, forcing her to abandon the weapon and flee alone.

Only recently had it resurfaced. Mack estimated that Farosa had entrusted it to someone who then went to great lengths to hide it, ensuring it disappeared without a trace for a thousand years.

Indeed a fearsome weapon, just taking the first strike felt like losing a thousand years of divinity. Mack evaluated his condition from shell to soul; it was not looking good. His own power, wisdom, and strength were rapidly fading.

Such a weapon made a god no god. Continuing this way, could Farosa really exterminate every Ancient Mystic? Mack internally sighed.

The little cat Mack had no choice but to flee along the narrow paths and crouch in a dark corner.

He took out a satellite phone from his body, ready to contact Xisheng, but then he heard rustling sounds drawing steadily closer.

It was clear now, it was the Ratmen. He heard one Ratman after another approaching him.

"Squeak—"

"Squeak squeak!"

"—Squeak squeak!" The Ratmen surged like a tide, one after another emerging from the darkness with their greenish eyes appearing one by one, fixing on Mack and then pouncing towards him.

Mack immediately summoned the remnants of his Divine Power to exterminate the weak. A large group of Ratmen that drew near to him instantly had their intestines burst and their bodies explode, but more Ratmen emerged from the darkness, crawling towards Mack with blood-red eyes.

They could smell the pheromones on Mack, the traces left by their fallen kin on him. This cat was entwined with the resentment of the dead Ratmen. Now they must avenge their kind!

Kill Mack!

Piercing, shrill cries rose again as Mack called out in fear. The Rat Paths were too narrow; the bodies of the exterminated Ratmen quickly piled up, blocking the path. Still, countless more Ratmen kept pouring in from all directions, pushing the corpses of the dead forward, continually compressing Mack’s living space.

This, this is—there’s nowhere to go—

Amidst the underground fissures, the bodies, broken bones, and blood of Ratmen kept surging forward, pushed to the center by the angry Ratmen behind, squeezing Mack into an ever-narrower space. His Divine Power was ever diminishing, and even though he tried to clear away the Ratmen’s carcasses, thousands more were swarming towards him.

Inside him, there was also the constraint of the Godslayer Weapon; the agony couldn’t be worse.

Nearing, getting ever closer. Mack, stuffed with a mass of Rat corpses, couldn’t escape. Trapped in a dead end, he had to use up his last strength to teleport upwards one last time to avoid being crushed or torn apart by the swarm of Rats.

Sizzle—

He should’ve reached the surface, but due to insufficient remaining power, Mack’s body teleported into the interior of a city street, right in the middle of a roadbed in Anjiu City.

It didn’t appear above the road, but rather a bit short, moved into the road itself, and it could even feel vehicles rumbling over its body.

Unlike 101, if its teleportation overlapped with the target, it would explode directly. However, Mack’s teleportation miracle would preemptively clear the vicinity of the target to avoid such overlap and destruction.

Then it was surrounded by the thick concrete road base, preemptively displacing the surrounding rocks and asphalt, creating a corresponding bulge above the ground. Citizens pointed and talked, not knowing that thermal expansion and contraction of the road could create such a sight. Buried in the roadbed, Mack was trapped within a perfectly shaped stone coffin that fit its form exactly, yet it couldn’t move at all.

Sealed by the Godslayer Weapon, its divine power was withered, unable to be restored. Mack couldn’t move an inch, its hands and feet appearing inside the perfectly shaped stone container, a made-to-measure, genuine coffin with not the slightest imperfection.

Its eyes could only stare to one side, its body turned haphazardly in its haste, an awkward posture greatly pressing on its spine, causing excruciating discomfort.

Pain—

Mack wanted to ease the pressure on its body. Stuck in the thick rocks, its muscles tensed and its bones jammed; it could only suffocate.

The roar of engines approached from afar, and Mack could hear the very loud sounds of heavy trucks. For a truck of such size, a raised patch on the road was nothing significant, so the driver confidently rolled over it.

Schlick!

The road surface was pressed down, further squeezing and bending Mack’s body, solidifying the earth and stone from all sides. Its spine snapped under the immense pressure!

Its eyes widened, blood streaming from all seven orifices, the dark brown blood constantly gurgling out, filling every single crevice between its body and the concrete.

Meanwhile, Pan Ruiyi used the Godslayer Weapon to aid Farosa, and the Forest Master’s apparition, intimidated by the Godslayer Weapon’s threat, had no choice but to temporarily avoid its edge. Given its current state, every fractal was of great importance and irreplaceable.

"I already went to save you, but Yan Duo got lost," Farosa took the Godslayer Weapon from Pan Ruiyi and scolded the apparition of the Forest Master, "Go back and tell your original self that if I can manage to contact Yan Duo again, I’ll continue to send it to look for you. I haven’t broken our agreement!"

The apparition of the Forest Master lingered by the tree roots, lamenting. As one of the Mystics most exploited by humans, its power was nearly depleted, nowhere near as strong as other Mystics. Now, to find itself in the desperate situation of being reprimanded by a witch, stamped it with additional sorrow. It risked appearing in person to intimidate Farosa, but the threats proved ineffective.

It sat cross-legged by the tree roots while Sally was nearly restored to health. Rat Village had been ravaged by the battle and since the Golden Tree was connected to the overall health of the Rat Village, she infused it with life force, gradually reviving it.

Farosa checked the count of witches, ensuring none had fallen into bottomless pits, and then moved to repair the cracks in the rocks caused by geologic activity, one hole after another. The magma eruption had already ceased, so by employing the Law of Recovery over the damaged area, she could roughly restore it to its original state.

"How is Mack?" Farosa inquired.

Lila searched around for Mack, refining her search, until eventually finding Mack’s body within the road base right above where it had vanished.

"Mack is dead," she said, "dead within the road."

"Actually, it cannot die, but it still withdraws from this millennial competition," Farosa declared, "Now let’s retrieve its body to amend the troubles brought by the entire conflict."

Xu Yang took charge of concluding the cleanup work. After a complex plan and busy work, including the restoration of the ruins destroyed by the company’s biochemical bombs, they covertly restored everything. Following that was cleaning up the battlefield, containing the news, contacting Kakuya Media to release false stories to distract other forces’ attentions.

Mack’s remains were also unearthed, the sight horrifically gruesome. A satellite phone clung tightly to Mack’s body and after inspection, this intrigued Xu Yang immensely.

A phone specifically used for communication with Xisheng.

He placed the phone in his office, contemplated it for a while, and then recalled Du Qianqian.

Du Qianqian, dressed in homebody attire, was sunbathing in the square when she was called back to Shijin Mansion, reverted to her original form, and curiously observed everything before her—Xu Yang, Farosa, and a satellite phone.

"Nzipa," Farosa spoke the true name of Mack’s secret script, then revealed the footage of Mack in the previous battle.

Du Qianqian silently recited internally.

Nzipa, Nzipa...

In an instant, she was wrapped in magic power and transformed into a small cat.

"Let’s hear you speak," Farosa said with interest.

"Cough, cough," Du Qianqian tested it out, "Meow?"

Farosa’s face brightened with a bigger smile.
