Chapter 341: Chapter 311 Destroying the Divine
Mack was in the city.
Farosa felt pressure, the peaceful state of mind required for the Seven Witches Ritual was far away, and she could not complete the entire Secret Ritual under the strain of a tense mind.
Xu Yang sat in front of her, which somewhat eased Farosa’s anxiety.
"Are you certain that’s the fraud Mack?" asked Xu Yang.
"Psychic assault, protective barriers, skilled techniques," Farosa reviewed the situation in the video, deep in thought, "...look, its use of Miracles is very clean and crisp, and most of the Miracles are of its own design, known only to itself. It has almost no worshippers or Secret Ritual Group, so it doesn’t pass the Miracles onto others, reducing the information related to it to a minimum."
"Obviously," Xu Yang reflected on the previous encounter, "it can probe us at will, while we have no chance to probe it."
Farosa looked downward; Xu Yang poured her a small cup of wine, which she downed in one go, trying to fight the confusion within her heart.
"...After all, Mack is not as proficient in a single Magic Power like the Witch," Farosa said, "It is versed in hundreds of Miracles, and the Spells it can use are difficult to categorize. We can immediately figure out what powers a Witch has and how to counter them. But this one is a powerful and cunning spellcaster, one of the best."
"We have had real conflicts with it, and as long as it dares to engage, there’s still a chance."
"Every opportunity it gives us is a trap," Farosa took another drink of wine.
"Fortunately, we’re not without support," Xu Yang said, "We must increase our allies and reduce our enemies; this is key to accomplishing important tasks."
Farosa’s expression was indifferent; she trusted no others aside from Xu Yang.
Xu Yang took her hand, making her heartstrings tremble slightly.
"Only death must be faced alone," he said, "otherwise, you can always find people willing to help."
Farosa crossed her arms over her chest, shaking her head softly. She felt distracted by Mack, never in her life had she hated a target so much.
Xu Yang followed the Spellbook and released the Miracle of Moon, but this time the response was slow, so slow that Farosa began to curse softly, and after 10 minutes, a Teleportation Talisman with the gentle moonlight appeared before them.
Touching the Teleportation Talisman, they then arrived at Nangong Island.
At this time, the island had completely changed its appearance: green grass was everywhere, the sky was clear, and even the sea was held back, the world’s edge stitched together by the power of the Sand of Stars to prevent the sea from pouring out into the void, now lying shallow on the dried seabed.
"Moonfire" Mond’s Dragon form was resting on a high rocky platform, looking majestic. Xu Yang compared the images in his memory with the scene before him and noted that the Blackfire crash sites scattered across the wilderness had all disappeared, many of the wreckage had been cleaned up, it seemed that Mond was very diligent in cleaning the environment.
"Where did those Blackfire captives go?" Farosa inquired.
"I took them to the Moonlight Garden," Mond spread his wings, "There they can fully utilize their labor."
"The fraud Mack is threatening me," Farosa walked to where the Godslayer Weapon was placed; it was still there, picked up by her.
"Oh," Mond let out a low dragon’s hum, leaned down, with no particularly strong reaction.
"Mond, you can help me kill Mack, it’s been angering me the entire time," Farosa lifted the Godslayer Weapon, "I’m sure you’d also relish dismembering another Ancient Mystic, right?"
"Strange," the voice of Mond resonated with a rumble through the world, "how long have I known you now?"
"A thousand years."
"Subtract the time you were asleep?"
"...Two to three years." Farosa smiled regretfully, "I didn’t expect you to consider proximity in relationships."
"Yes, I’ve known you for such a short time..." Mond brought his claws together, "...while I’ve known Mack for so, so much longer." Mond stretched his arms wide, indicating the closeness of their relationship.
"But it’s just a cat," Farosa said, "and you’re a majestic Dragon; you could never establish a true friendship between you."
"From a macro perspective, we are both intelligent beings," Mond folded his wings, "Ask me no more to attack Mack. As for the matters on Nangong Island, I’ve already solved them for you, so I’m returning to the Moonlight Garden. I’ll leave you an enduring Teleportation Talisman for ease of travel here. It activates once every seven days, for 30 minutes at a time."
"Why can’t it be activated daily?" Farosa frowned.
"Why not learn the Time-Space Path yourself," said Mond disdainfully.
"Congratulations, you’ve mastered all powers in your long life," Farosa nodded, twirling the Godslayer Weapon in hand, turning to Xu Yang, "Let’s go back and kill that cat."
"Hold on," Xu Yang nodded slightly to Farosa, signaling her to wait a moment, then he moved towards the spot where Mond’s ritual was being performed.
"I’m pleased there is still someone polite here," Mond climbed down from the platform, a slight movement causing tremors.
"We’re being manipulated by Mack; it seems to want to wear us out," Xu Yang discussed with Mond, "If we take the initiative, we often fall into one trap after another. But if we keep a defensive position, we will be continuously harassed by it."
Mond looked down from a height, regal in demeanor.
"You haven’t seen your human ancestors hunting," it scratched the scales under its chin with a claw, "those cunning beasts, always hiding, seemingly without pattern, too clever and elusive for humans’ small, limited vision. But they all end up at the same place, the ancestors find the game trails, prepare their bows by the stream, they always need to drink, don’t they?"
