Chapter 260: Chapter 232: Sand of Stars
There are treasures buried just within arm’s reach.
Originally, Chainsaw Angel opposed Dilnai’s methods and decided to escape from New Taixi State, taking many of Dilnai’s treasures with her. To store these treasures, she leased a luxurious suite in Hui City District for a long time.
A private collection of an Ancient Mystic, which Lady Farosa had coveted for a long time.
Lady Farosa visited Chainsaw Angel in the cell. Without much effort, Chainsaw Angel completely revealed the truth, including how to enter the room, where the treasures were hidden, and the safe’s password—she confessed everything in the most humble and submissive tone.
"Keep up the performance," Lady Farosa whispered softly.
"...Woof..." Chainsaw Angel trembled in the cell.
All of Lady Farosa’s threats were understood without being voiced, as long as Chainsaw Angel did anything in the future that displeased her, she would suffer the harshest torture from Lady Farosa. Even if just for the sake of her own skin, Chainsaw Angel had no choice but to obey.
As a reward for her loyalty, Lady Farosa sealed off the ventilation ducts and windows of the cell.
If one is to travel, the fastest way is to take 101, which Lady Farosa immediately summoned.
held her breath, bowing her head, not daring to look directly at Lady Farosa’s face.
"Honorable Witch Goddess," she knelt on one knee, raising her right hand, "please use my power as you wish."
"What a darling child," said Lady Farosa, while extending her hand to caress 101’s hair.
Feeling Lady Farosa’s hand slowly moving atop her head, what should have been a friendly gesture made 101 immensely uncomfortable. The feeling of dread coiled around her like a venomous snake, rendering her immobile. The position she was in wasn’t comfortable, but she endured it, not daring to move for fear of what Lady Farosa might do next.
101’s behavior completely satisfied Lady Farosa; she needed the witches to maintain this state, for they must not show any signs of autonomy or independence in front of her.
They are tools.
"It’s time to leave," Lady Farosa said, "to Hui City District."
"Yes," replied 101, as she teleported Lady Farosa to a safe house located in Hui City District. It was designed to be a fully-equipped hideout and resupply point, and it also served as a dressing room.
stood guard outside the door as Lady Farosa took off her antique robe and hung it on a cross-shaped clothes rack. Then, she slowly slipped on a pair of black pantyhose, changed into a casual beige chiffon dress, put on a green pendant matched with rose-gold chains, letting the pendant sink into the shadowy cleavage, and finally stepped into black leather shoes.
Lady Farosa looked at herself in the mirror and felt something was missing. She then picked up a casual white soft hat and put it on before stepping out of the hideout.
With a deep breath, 101 turned her head to see Lady Farosa’s new outfit. The ancient, secretive aura had faded away, and the brand new casual attire made a deep impression on 101. However, if anyone were deceived by Lady Farosa’s seemingly innocent appearance now, they would inevitably fall into a predicament where life and death were unpredictable.
"Let’s go," said Lady Farosa with ease.
The quieter 101 was, the more Lady Farosa saw her as material to be molded. Thus, along the way, she generously chose not to withhold important knowledge and passed it on to her. 101 first took Lady Farosa near the Apple Orchard Food Filling Factory to retrieve Chainsaw Angel’s equipment and halo.
"It acts as an excellent conductor for mystic power. Once completely shattered, it can be used to create new mystical artifacts," Lady Farosa held the halo in her hands.
The halo was heavy, like a stone, stained with ink, with one corner broken off. The power within had dried up, hence it no longer glowed.
"To bear Your Power?" 101 inquired.
"Of course," Lady Farosa handed the halo to 101, "after it is reforged, it can carry a portion of my magic power—suitable for you to take onto the battlefield to unleash both destructive and restorative powers."
"Thank you, Lady Farosa," 101 nodded lightly.
"And that chainsaw can be taken back for collection," Lady Farosa glanced at a red chainsaw, and 101 immediately wrapped it up and packed it away.
Lady Farosa was only interested in mystical items. She was indifferent to the funds, jewelry, and ordinary wealth found in the factory. She chose half of the finer items to send back to the industrial park before heading straight to the hotel.
Chainsaw Angel had already given the room number and password to Lady Farosa, enabling her to enter the room with ease.
The angel herself had not been to this room for several years, and the housekeeping staff couldn’t enter either, so the room felt lifeless and dimly lit, indeed having the atmosphere of an ancient treasury.
Lady Farosa found the safe on the wall, entered the password, opened the door, and Chainsaw Angel’s hidden stash was laid bare.
"The power of witches stems from the stars," she began removing items one by one from the safe, laying them on the bed for the subsequent selection process, "while the Ancient Mystics are beings that grew from this land, as well as those colossal creatures that fell from the starry sky, known as the extraterrestrial races."
"Stars, gods, and witches all reign above humans," 101 speculated.
"Answer me," said Lady Farosa after removing all items and then closing the safe door, "—is it good or bad to distinguish between rulers and the ruled based on the strength of their power?"
101’s mind raced through dozens of different answers.
He could say "Yes," because the strong should rule over the weak, as it’s the law of nature.
He could also say "No," because united, the weak can turn the tables on the strong, as history has proven.
No, he mustn’t think like that.
After all, it was Lady Farosa who asked the question...
"In fact," 101 said, "there is but one who is truly qualified to rule, and that is you."
Lady Farosa nodded meaningfully.
"These are all for you." Lady Farosa handed most of the items to 101, selecting only one bottle for herself.
Inside the long-necked glass bottle shimmered a plethora of dazzling lights, like crushed star dust in multiple colors compacted into one bottle, indescribably sparkling, as if pieces of a rainbow were piled together.
"That is..." 101’s gaze was instantly drawn to the bottle.
"Sand of Stars, useful for building private worlds," Lady Farosa carefully put the bottle away, "They can be used to craft completely personal new realms, free homelands independent of this planet. Chainsaw Angel really did steal something worthwhile, making this not a wasted journey."
"A world that belongs to you," 101 murmured, "Congratulations."
"Behind the world," Lady Farosa walked out, "lies a void called ’the Gap,’ a totally different new zone distinct from this world, a secret well explored by the Ancient Mystics who established their own homelands there. Hmm... A Witch should have one too."
toyed with the mystical items Lady Farosa had discarded, and even though they were not valued by her, they seemed to have their own uses, including three magic crystals of different colors, a bottle of dark green magic potion, a bottle of magical brew, a rose-shaped brooch, an ornately decorated gorgeous bracelet, and a neatly folded magic cloak.
He returned to the industrial park with Lady Farosa, where in the activity room the witches were discussing how to have fun with a large sum of money. 101 looked around for 102 and couldn’t find her, then learned she had gone to find Chainsaw Angel.
had heard that Chainsaw Angel was still alive and imprisoned within the industrial park and unconsciously headed towards her cell.
Through the door, 102 saw that even the barred windows allowing ventilation had been blocked, not letting a single ray of light penetrate, indicating complete darkness within.
"Are you... are you in there?" 102 knocked softly on the door.
Recognizing 102’s voice, Chainsaw Angel responded with calm.
"It’s me," she said.
"How terrifying..." 102 remembered the feeling of being cut by Chainsaw Angel’s saw, the excruciating pain and pressure suddenly returning.
"Heh."
"Why is everything sealed up?" 102 touched the window, which had been covered with iron plates.
"She said, ’Dogs’ should not see even a sliver of light."
"Who’s treating you like a little dog?"
"There wouldn’t be a second person among you with such a vice, would there?"
"Ah..." 102 thought of Lady Farosa and turned pale with fright, "...I see. Are you hungry?"
"Hungry?" Chainsaw Angel was a bit puzzled.
"I’ll get you some yogurt balls, they’re really delicious," 102 said, "We got a new machine, you press it and lots of yogurt balls fall out."
"...Hard to believe the person I fought with is still a child," Chainsaw Angel chuckled softly.
"I’m not a child," 102 stated, "We grow three times as fast as normal humans, so I’m already 15 years old! And I’ve defeated you, you’re definitely older than 15, but you still lost!"
Chainsaw Angel suddenly felt the urge to cry and gently wiped away a tear.
"Ah..." Chainsaw Angel sighed.
"It’s okay," 102 said, "Lady Farosa won’t always be watching you. Once I find your chainsaw, I’ll break the iron plates and hang the chainsaw where you can see it from inside."
"I’ll pray for your soul," Chainsaw Angel said, "Go on, child, I will pray for you constantly. You have more dignity than those who command you to fight, you possess a higher soul than they do."
