Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 251 - 224 Glimmering Angel
Chapter 251: Chapter 224 Glimmering Angel
Du Qianqian, hands tucked into her pockets, decided to leave the factory’s information security office and pushed open the blue aluminum door with a beauty poster on it.
Mizuiro Yoshioka glanced back at Du Qianqian, truly unable to grasp where her confidence came from, as if she wasn’t afraid at all of being exposed.
"Are you sure it’s not a problem?" Mizuiro Yoshioka asked. On the visual interface inside her helmet, the vital signs and signal strength of each Witch were clear at a glance, leaving no risk of disconnection.
Still, Mizuiro Yoshioka didn’t want to put Du Qianqian in jeopardy; she felt responsible for the safety of every Witch.
"I’m very clever," Du Qianqian said nonchalantly. "Just do your part well."
"It’s too risky, refusal," Mizuiro Yoshioka prevented Du Qianqian from visiting the Chainsaw Angel Gang.
"Then what do you suggest?" Du Qianqian felt a twinge of dissatisfaction.
"As long as I choose the right moment and direction to jump into the factory area, I can rescue Setsuki," 101 said.
Mizuiro Yoshioka adjusted the monitor to display the warehouse where the Chainsaw Angel currently was. The area had been cleared out, a group of armed thugs stood with their hands behind their backs, in uniform black suits, sunglasses, and holstered standard-issue pistols. They looked efficient, forming a veritable wall of people.
They had never seen such a terrifying woman before.
They had thought that "Chainsaw Angel" was just a slightly exaggerated nickname, like an out-of-date pop culture element, yet there she was, exactly as described.
The Chainsaw Angel stood approximately 1.9 meters tall, with a sturdy and slender figure and a pair of magnificent, holy white wings on her back.
She wore black leather battle gear adorned with mysterious symbols she had drawn herself. Her beauty was breathtaking, her skin pale, yet she always wore an intimidating smile that made one never dare to relax.
True to her name, the Angel held a huge red chainsaw, with a sturdy handle and a sharp saw blade, and a delicate fin-shaped radiator hung on the side of the engine.
After communicating with the information office, the Chainsaw Angel began to tease Setsuki again.
"Why hasn’t your daddy sent the money yet?" the Chainsaw Angel put the giant chainsaw aside and touched Setsuki’s chin like a Monster proposing a wicked deal.
"You..." Setsuki lowered her voice, "if you answer some of my questions, I’ll get my dad to bring the money."
"Questions? What kind of questions?" mocked the Chainsaw Angel. "Even at this time, you still act like a journalist? I remember the invisible recording devices I found on you."
"It’s my responsibility," Setsuki held her head high. "I am a journalist; I came to Aizu City to report the facts. The media has to be responsible for the truth of the news."
"Go ahead and ask," the Chainsaw Angel sat back in her chair, her wings playfully flapping hard once, blowing a gust of wind into Setsuki’s face, frightening her into closing her eyes.
"Your factory uses unregulated materials; why is that?" Setsuki opened her eyes nervously, holding her breath.
"Is that why you sneaked into the factory?" the Chainsaw Angel laughed, "I don’t know, I don’t care."
"Also, are your wings real?" Setsuki stared at the Chainsaw Angel’s wings.
"Fake, of course," the Chainsaw Angel fluttered her wings. "Cybernetics."
"They’re fake?" Setsuki was astonished. "But the wings look so... real."
"Everybody alters their appearance, gets prosthetic hands or feet or whatever," the Chainsaw Angel said sarcastically. "Getting fake wings is normal, isn’t it?"
Mizuiro Yoshioka observed the feathers on those wings from the monitor screen; they looked vividly lifelike, indistinguishable from a certain bird’s feathers, with clear details from the texture to the base of the wings.
If these were cybernetic, they could not be mass-produced; they were too exquisitely made.
"Hurry," the Chainsaw Angel handed a communicator to Setsuki. "Send a message to your daddy, tell him to send the money. With money, we can leave this godforsaken place. You can have this shitty factory and its materials."
At this moment, combining the camera footage and the model of the factory made earlier, 101 could infiltrate the warehouse effortlessly.
"I’m ready," 101 reported to Mizuiro Yoshioka.
"First, get Setsuki to the safe zone so we can fight without restraint; Shallow Dream and I will assist you from the side," Mizuiro Yoshioka took off her helmet.
She created some ink creatures with her hands; they hopped around with bared teeth and grimaces, jumping onto the table and devouring what was left of the hacker’s half-eaten box of ramen, growing larger in size, from fist-sized to the length of an arm, then fighting and devouring each other, leaving a single, most robust one, like a black dog.
"What about you?" 101 looked at 102.
"I’m fine," 102 lifted her gunlance, the heavy weapon as light as a basket in her hands.
"We’re dealing with the Chainsaw Angel; be careful," 101 grabbed 102’s arm.
"Of course!" 102’s morale soared.
101, with 102 in tow, initiated the jump!
The Chainsaw Angel was still pinching Setsuki’s cheeks when suddenly, 101 appeared behind her, holding 102, whose gunlance was ready to join the battle.
"Who’s there!" the Chainsaw Angel grabbed the chainsaw, pulling it to life. The saw chain thundered into operation, almost splitting the air in two, with steam pouring out as the room temperature rose.
With a violent flap of her wings, she cut through the room toward 102. The members of the Chainsaw Angel Gang also sprang into action, rapidly firing at 102 while calling others to control the situation.
"Ahhh—" Startled, Setsuki struggled violently in her chair, quickly losing her balance and toppling backward, her head smacking against the ground, blood flowing profusely.
101, seeing Setsuki fall, immediately teleported to her, picked her up along with the chair, and jumped a two-kilometer distance back to the parked Anonymous, placing Setsuki on the seat.
She wanted to use her Magic Power to return to the warehouse and fight the Chainsaw Angel, but then she realized a grim fact. She was skilled at teleportation, highly efficient at relocating, but not so good at combat. Moreover, the Chainsaw Angel was highly mobile; she simply couldn’t catch her.
This meant that even if she joined the fight, she wouldn’t be of much help and would only distract her sister.
Agent 101 could only leap back to the information office in the factory, where he watched the entire battle through the monitors.
Right now, Agent 102 was fiercely fighting the Chainsaw Angel.
"Die!" Agent 102 desperately swung the huge gunlance in her hands, its blade incredibly sharp, shining with bright white light, forcing the Chainsaw Angel to avoid clashing head-on, attempting to dodge using the mobility of her wings instead.
Though the Chainsaw Angel’s wings were large, she was extremely agile in flight, weaving through the factory like a pale butterfly to avoid Agent 102’s attacks.
Bang! Bang!
Other gang members opened fire on Agent 102, bullets whizzing past; many hit Agent 102’s body, penetrating her armor, but failed to injure her cybernetically enhanced body.
Agent 102, eager to end the fight quickly, swiftly raised her gunlance and aimed it at the Chainsaw Angel’s position.
Then... she fired!
An automatic guidance device helped Agent 102 with her aim, yet the shot still missed the Chainsaw Angel, who only needed to move slightly for the shell to fly past her side, exploding against the wall at the end of the room, instantly collapsing the front wall.
Bang!
"Ahhhh—"
"Help!"
"Ugh—" Many gang members rushing down the hallway to reinforce were pulled into the chaos; many reached the doorway only to be hit by the shell, instantly blown to pieces, limbs scattering across the ground. The shockwave burst out in all directions with a thundering roar, rapidly spreading tremors flung countless people into the walls of the hallway, leaving behind streaks of their bloody remains.
Survivors either wailed amidst the fire and smoke or panicked at the sight of the gaping wounds the shells had torn through the walls.
Looking back at her subordinates being slaughtered, and seeing Setsuki rescued, the Chainsaw Angel was enraged.
"Looking for death!" She sped up again and, holding the chainsaw diagonally downwards, sawed fiercely towards Agent 102.
Whirring—
Agent 102 couldn’t dodge in time and tried to block with her gunlance, but missed; the red chainsaw had already cut viciously into her, like slicing through solid metal, sending sparks flying, the sound grating intensely. The Witch Armor that Agent 102 wore was quickly sliced open, the saw chain rotating furiously as it cut into her body.
She was forced to use a great amount of Magic Power to strengthen the cut area, yet still felt extreme pain as blood gushed forth.
Her Magic Power was for limb strengthening; she could enhance her body to the strength of an alloy, this being one of the rare occasions that she was cut, indicating that the Chainsaw Angel could indeed inflict fatal damage on her.
Overtaken by fright, Agent 102 instinctively raised the gunlance in her hand and slashed upwards, forcing the Chainsaw Angel back.
"Now, let me show you the gap between us! I will annihilate you completely!" The Chainsaw Angel hovered at the top of the factory, her right hand raising her red chainsaw, while a golden halo appeared out of thin air in her left hand.
She placed the halo over her head, and instantly, she radiated a blinding bright light, each of her wings igniting pale white flames that shone intensely within the room. The chainsaw also lit up with a blaze of holy flame which danced with the rotation of the chain.
The Chainsaw Angel bathed in the holy light and fierce flames, her momentum surging once again!
Agent 102 was gasping for air, swallowing saliva.
Her skin from the right shoulder armor to the left waist was split open, bleeding profusely, mixed with the Magic Power she used to reinforce herself, turning the spilled blood from bright red to dark gold.
Strong, so strong. Agent 102 felt immense pressure. Neither her gunfire nor her slashes could hit the target, and her mobility also fell short.
Certain defeat was unavoidable.
"Don’t come!" Agent 102 feared for Agent 101 joining the battle; her sister lacked her defensive capabilities! Once hit by the Chainsaw Angel, she would be killed on the spot.
"Who are you talking to?" The Chainsaw Angel sneered.
Talking to herself. Witnessing this scene through the monitors, Agent 101’s face turned pale, and she recoiled, trembling incessantly.
"Mizuiro Yoshioka!" cried out Agent 101 uncontrollably, "Mizuiro Yoshioka! Where are you?"
"On our way!" Mizuiro Yoshioka replied, having heard the loud noises coming from the factory area; she was on her way to assist with Shallow Dream and Du Qianqian, continuously firing to eliminate scattered gang reinforcements they encountered.
Too slow, why so slow? Agent 102 would be killed!
Agent 101 realized she was crying, wiping her tears away vigorously.
Even so, Agent 101 forced herself to endure, not letting her emotions interfere with the operation, not allowing her personal feelings to hinder victory.
"I’ve already rescued Setsuki; I am ordering the Katsuragi Gang to launch a full assault," Agent 101 communicated.
"Okay," responded Mizuiro Yoshioka. "Can you see the situation with Chainsaw Angel?"
"She is very strong," said Agent 101, "We’d have a hard time defeating her even if we attacked together."
"Tsk..." Mizuiro Yoshioka felt anxious.
Couldn’t the witches, with their current strength, take down the Chainsaw Angel alone? How would they explain this?
What to do? Agent 101 was also considering the same question.
Agent 101 looked at the now-empty ramen box on the table.
"Don’t go to the Chainsaw Angel!" Agent 101 said, "Take your Ink Beast to the Nutrient Paste storage tanks!"
