Chapter 241: Chapter 215: Farosa’s Reserves

As soon as Kanako left Honma Noriko’s tea room, her heart felt open and liberated, and it seemed as though the whole world unfolded before her eyes, with each corner sparkling and waiting for her to develop and explore.

Endless money and resources supported her, and she was no longer the insignificant and negligible Kanako. Her will could now leverage a corner of the world! This thought brought her incredible joy.

At the same time, it also accumulated a terrifying pressure. This was another major reason she didn’t want to go home—the pressure in front of her mother was too immense.

She immediately wanted to send a message, a secret rendezvous with Xu Yang, to pour out all this pressure in the most delightful way.

Once outside in the waiting room, Kanako subconsciously checked the visitor list for the day, curious about who else might visit her mother today.

Beyond the regular business meetings, she noticed a strange appointment.

"16:00 The Envoy of the Seven Seals"

It was now 3 p.m., meaning the envoy would arrive in an hour.

Should she... take a look at the person from the Seven Seals?

The thought of the mysterious Seven Seals sending someone to visit her mother inevitably brought a hint of fear to Kanako. The Seven Seals harbored non-human entities, and their envoy would undoubtedly have peculiar powers and possibly even a terrifying appearance.

The usual Kanako would have slipped away by now, not wanting to complicate matters further, but now she felt a newfound confidence.

She decided to wait and meet this so-called envoy from the Seven Seals in person.

Kanako needed to speak to Xu Yang first, so she headed to the lower-level garden under the Xisheng Shrine, where there was less surveillance. She didn’t want her communications with Xu Yang to be monitored. She found a secluded private acupressure room, and before the mechanical technician arrived to offer service, she sat on the wooden bed to communicate with Xu Yang.

"Xu Yang~ See you at the usual place," she sent the happy message.

In the Xisheng Hotel on the 128th floor of Anjiu City, she could already imagine the wild scenes that awaited, and Kanako’s body trembled uncontrollably with anticipation, a flush spreading across her face.

"The room may be under surveillance," Xu Yang replied to Kanako.

"So where do you want to go?" Kanako thought Xu Yang was being overly cautious, but she knew that caution was indeed vital for survival.

"Meet in the car. Drive to the exit of Anjiu City."

Kanako turned off the screen and wiped the sweat from her brow as her body’s instinctual responses became more pronounced.

Indeed, it would be fun and secretive in the car.

"Okay. I’ll probably get there tonight," Kanako turned the screen back on and sent her reply. Then, lying on the wooden bed, she let the mechanical technician provide a joint-relaxing massage therapy. The surrounding equipment released a great deal of warm steam, allowing every pore of Kanako’s body to open up, her mind and body reaching an optimal state, which made her even more eager for the night’s secret meeting.

An hour passed, and Kanako noticed it was now four o’clock in the afternoon. She dressed herself neatly again and returned to the waiting room on the 80th floor of Xisheng Shrine. The passage to the top floor tea room was closed, as Honma Noriko had finished her meetings. Her mother’s guard, Yanagawa Fumihiko, was also absent, whereabouts unknown.

It seemed that her message also had a great impact on her mother, Kanako thought to herself. However, this also created an opportunity for her to be alone with the envoy from the Seven Seals.

o’clock arrived, and a black teardrop-shaped high-class shuttle machine entered from the outside.

Kanako glanced at it and recognized it as the flagship product of Suvy Metals, the "Night Song" class business craft, priced at approximately 12 million.

It landed in the docking area, and a gorgeously dressed woman descended.

The moment Kanako saw her, she couldn’t help but feel a stir from the depths of her heart. The other possessed a "divine" noble appearance, with frost-white skin, emerald green eyes, and golden hair flowing down her back like natural silk. She wore a white bodysuit with golden trim, her figure curvaceous, and she stepped in grey sandals, even her toes looking lovely, round and lustrous... Kanako quickly averted her gaze.

As if weary of the world’s noise, the visitor moved swiftly, unwilling to waste time on anything superfluous, and quickly entered the waiting room. Noticing the notice that Honma Noriko would not receive guests that day, a hint of disappointment flashed through her eyes. She immediately turned around, ready to return to the shuttle machine without a moment’s hesitation.

For Kanako, this was the final chance.

"Hello!" Kanako boldly greeted her.

"Hmm?" She glanced at Kanako, her tone sounding impatient, which made Kanako shiver. The visitor’s gaze seemed to regard her as some lower form of life, putting Kanako’s pride to the test.

"Excuse me for the intrusion, this is our first meeting," Kanako bowed respectfully, "I am Honma Noriko’s daughter, Kojima Kanako."

"My name is Xylophia," the woman said, "I am here to see Honma Noriko, but she is not receiving visitors today."

"May I know what this is regarding?" Kanako said, "I just met with my mother, and since you might be new here, I think I can answer any questions you may have! And if there’s anything you want Xisheng to help you with, I can also analyze its feasibility for you."

Xylophia weighed the pros and cons before giving Kanako a slight bow.

"Come inside." She led Kanako into the "Night Song" Shuttle Machine.

Having taken a seat on the shuttle, Xylophia seemed not quite familiar with the modern control module of the shuttle, using only simple voice commands to switch it to autopilot mode, then stopped paying attention, instead surveying the surrounding high-tech modern buildings with a weary gaze, as if those hundreds of meters tall skyscrapers were mere dirt and stone, insignificant in her eyes.

"Why are you looking for my mother?" Kanako attempted to glean some intelligence.

"I come from your sister, Kurokawa Kana," Xylophia responded indifferently, her tone flat, "I conveyed the will of the ’Seven Seals’ to her. As for your mother, that is a private matter."

"I wonder if I could have the honor of knowing?" Kanako probed, "After all, I can mobilize some of Xisheng’s resources to aid you in achieving your goal."

"I’m looking for someone," Xylophia said, "Faroza de Aquilia."

Faroza!

Kanako kept her expression unchanged, but Xylophia seemed to see through her internal thoughts.

"You know Faroza, don’t you?" Xylophia stated.

"No..." Kanako reflexively denied.

Xylophia extended one finger and shook it in the air, as though to shatter Kanako’s pretense.

"I know you know Faroza," Xylophia said, "I mean no harm. I’ve come to return something to her."

"Return something?" Kanako was taken aback, "You..."

"A thousand years ago," Xylophia pulled out an ancient-looking box with old patterns from under the seat, its craftsmanship rough, exuding a sense of time-worn antiquity, "Faroza entrusted me with an item to keep safe."

"I..." Kanako stared at the box, "...I’m quite curious what’s inside it."

"Back then, Faroza did something significant," Xylophia explained briefly, "This is the weapon she relied on to accomplish that ’significant thing.’ She gave it to me for safekeeping."

"Are you... Have you survived since a thousand years ago?"

"Mm," Xylophia acknowledged casually as if the conversation thus far had no effect on her state or beliefs, making Kanako even more puzzled, "Faroza was an excellent companion, the youngest and most vibrant among us. She had her own unique perspectives on many things. Not just that, she was like a living library, proficient in all kinds of rituals and secret ceremonies. I miss her. If you really know her, just tell her my name. Now, the Seven Seals need her, after all, she knows how many important ceremonies should be conducted."

"I’m truly sorry, I don’t actually know her, nor do I know much about her," Kanako said, which was the truth; she didn’t have a deep understanding of Faroza, "but I may know some channels to possibly get close to the witch and pass on some key messages. However, I can’t make any promises, and I hope you can understand that."

"Oh, I don’t expect you to succeed in anything," Xylophia responded coldly, crossing one leg over the other, her pale thigh too dazzling for Kanako to look away, "You should be more familiar with how to manipulate the machines of this era than I am. You can leave at any rest stop along our journey; I no longer have the energy to deal with you."

"Yes..." Kanako stood up.

Sure enough, a witch who had been active a millennium ago, just like Faroza, carried the same bizarre oppressive sensation and mystery. Kanako took a deep breath, adjusted her mood, and instructed the shuttle to stop at the next station and let her off.

I need to pass on the name "Xylophia" to Faroza, Kanako thought. However, communicating with Faroza alone always felt odd; it was better to discuss this matter with Xu Yang.

She summoned her own shuttle and vehicle, took Senzoune with her, and went to find Xu Yang.

As agreed with Xu Yang, they met at the outskirts of Anjiu City, driving the elegant and advanced "Old Chamber Black Moon," Kanako picked up Xu Yang from the street.

"Where are we heading?" Kanako looked out the window at the scenery; Anjiu City had become much more desolate, and the number of security personnel on the streets had tripled.

"To the seaside." Xu Yang turned on the car’s music.

Kanako fixed her eyes on Xu Yang, one hand resting on his shoulder; Xu Yang was not one to refuse, prepared to act on her cue, thanks to the vitality necklace Yan Duo had given the other day, now he could handle any length of time and any number of people.

"Bear with it." Senzoune took responsibility for driving, also employing an invisibility spell to avoid disturbing the mood, fearing being drawn into it, as Kanako alone couldn’t handle it.

The vehicle sped along, the night, the scenery, the street lights.

When she met her mother, Kanako had accumulated a relentless pressure and fear, but by the time they arrived at the seaside, those complex thoughts had dissipated like smoke.
