Chapter 224: Chapter 199: Ancient Mystics

Releasing Yan Duo suddenly shifted the entire world situation.

Even without mentioning the chaos of the corporations, other Mystics were also taking different actions. While Xu Yang and his companions searched for Yan Duo, all the ancient beings were paying attention to everything that was happening.

Mond of the "Moonfire" on the Moon was particularly concerned; it clearly noticed that the sunlight transmitted to the planet had weakened, which made it worried.

This planet’s fragile ecosystem was not ready to endure such a severe test; it feared that the reckless Yan Duo might inadvertently kill all life on this 500 million square kilometers.

So its massive body slightly swayed on the lunar surface, elongating its neck to take a glance at the planet’s surface and quickly calculated everything it wanted to know.

...Yan Duo’s consumption of the sun was within controllable limits, and the sunlight would soon recover.

Thus, it continued to lie prone on the lunar surface, observing other regions of the planet, looking for beautiful female creatures with horns to include in the reference range for its next queen.

Mond was quite satisfied with its current living situation.

It had foreseen that the civilizations of humans or witches would spread across the ground, and no matter which side won, the Dragon Kind would be exterminated. Therefore, it had moved its wives and children to the Moon three thousand years ago, gazing down at everything from high above, its heart becoming much more expansive. Instead of being confined to a tiny planet, the Dragon Kind should look towards the galaxy. Indeed, its decision was very correct; those who clung to the ground were hunted down to near extinction.

Unlike Dilnai, who was eager for the Throne of God, Mond appeared graceful and composed. Compared to the ethereal Ascension, it cared more about its queens and the hundreds of thousands of Dragon Clan descendants—an offspring it had painstakingly raised.

Mond personally carved out a new world, sending its queens and offspring into it to multiply, while it itself lay on the lunar surface, using its immense body to block the true entrance to the lunar world, preventing the corporations’ artificial celestial bodies from capturing the true state of the Moon.

As long as the Elder Dragon lay on the Moon, the corporations could not ascend to the Moon.

Its existence on the Moon was akin to locking down the corporations’ aerospace technology. Unable to land on the Moon, what to speak of developing other planets, they could only remain on the ground, competing for limited resources.

Realizing this, the Corporate Alliance and Mond were completely at odds.

During the period when the Corporate Alliance had just triumphed over the Witch, their prestige and combat power reached historical peaks. They were exterminating Mond’s Secret Ritual Groups on the ground, weakening his source of power, trying to manufacture weapons to combat the Moon, or sending powerful witches to kill Mond; they did everything they could to solve the problem of the Elder Dragon on the lunar surface, so that corporatism could march into the stars.

The threat from the Corporate Alliance provoked Mond’s anger. Before they could exterminate all Mystics, Mond joined hands with other Mystics to secretly undermine the Corporate Alliance, supporting other interest groups to rise, ultimately shaping a series of giant corporations and brand-new interest groups, gradually weakening the influence of the Corporate Alliance, who today had lost the appeal to unite the world’s resources, and had slowly become an empty shell.

Humans were ultimately unable to unite.

After the crisis, the unpursued Mystics were all waiting for Farosa to reappear with the Throne of God. Their initial assassination of deities was to find the opportunity to remake the divine throne; now everything was back to the main issue. Farosa safely emerged, completing the final step of the Godslayer, acquiring the Throne of God.

As such, a new round of conflict was about to begin around Farosa.

However, Farosa, who held the Throne of God, was not a Little Witch waiting to be fed. Only two months after her emergence, not only had she successfully rescued Yan Duo, gaining a powerful ally, but she had also evaded Dilnai’s blade.

This impressed Mond, which began to reconsider the witch’s value for acquaintance. The struggle for the Throne of God was bound to be bloody and obscure, and while the Mystics were wise, powerful, and enlightened through endless ages, they were now slaying each other for a vain opportunity, which Mond found despicable. The grace and cultivation accumulated over the years seemed to have vanished.

Mond’s original intention was to live peacefully on the Moon, protecting its loved ones, but as resources in the lunar world became increasingly scarce, it had to start reconsidering the significant issue of re-establishing contact between the Moon and the Ground. This required meddling with terrestrial affairs again.

It was willing to adopt a softer, more elegant approach to making contact with Farosa, that is to say, to collaborate with her.

After the rescue of Yan Duo, her fate became tied to Zenith, and together as an Allianced force, they instantly became formidable.

Mond kept pondering the possibilities of the future.

Not only was it profitable, but the gains were also infinite...

An emerging power group, if not properly courted, could mean missing out on so much.

Farosa could inherently communicate with Mond through the power of the Throne of God, but Dilnai could also appear in that space, which would be quite a terrifying situation.

Another method was needed.

In order to calculate how it would establish contact with Farosa and her companions in the future, Mond’s consciousness left the shell of the massive Elder Dragon and switched to another smaller, more mobile Dragonkin body. It went into its treasure vault, released the mist of prophecy, and began divining the possibilities of its destiny intertwining with theirs.

Amidst the hazy mist, the result gradually unveiled...

A spellbook.

Mond examined the book, it remembered this tome, warlocks seeking knowledge from the Mystics, and Mond had taught a part of its Power to these mortals. The book contained the magic formulas of Moonlight, and by studying it, one would establish a connection with Mond.

This book would become the key to their future connection, and since it appeared in the fog, it meant they possessed this tome. As long as they attempted to find the spells of Moonlight from the book, they would be connected to Mond here.

The Four-Star Chart had long confirmed the pattern of the world, the Galaxy, gods, Witches, and Humans. However, the despicable Orcian monopolized the Throne of God, misconstruing the pantheon for a singular deity, leading many ancient Demigods to become disheartened and retreat into seclusion, while the rest came to be known as the Ancient Mystics, severing all ties with the "divine" authority.

After the Godslaying, the order became distorted, the Galaxy was observed, deities were vacant, Witches were slain, and Humans rose.

All current situations were the result of the repeated power struggle by various forces. At this point, Mond had other thoughts about the Throne of God.

It did not wish to usurp the Throne of God by force, rather preferring a slow and steady approach. It knew that even if it ascended to the Throne of God, it would, like Orcian, be unwilling to relinquish mundane desires, and in another ten thousand years, it would likely be slain by another Godslayer, simply a cycle in history.

Rather than letting some entity ascend to the Throne of God to obtain infinite Power, Mond was keener on maintaining the status quo.

That is to say, Farosa needed to stay alive and not hand over the Throne of God in her soul to anyone. Mond thought such a direct ascension device was not deserving of use by any beings of intelligence, including itself.

It awaited the future, the future of the entire Moon Dragon Race, a future flourishing and bustling...

Farosa, the Moon Dragon Race, Zenith... and if its conjecture held true, the future would also include the Forest Master. Once they reached a consensus on mutual interests, it would be an undying Alliance crafted by the hands of 3 ancient and powerful beings and 1 Supreme Witch, its power undoubtedly holding a massive sway in the current world order, completely altering the face of the world.

Mond patiently waited for the moment they opened that Spellbook.

Meanwhile, Dilnai had also returned to her abode.

Above Central New Taixi State, she had a space mothership called "Sky Kingdom." Dilnai had prepared for Ascension for over a thousand years, promising to share the power of the Throne of God with everyone. But the despicable Orcian stole the Throne of God and hoarded its power. At that very moment, Dilnai abandoned all Good intentions, leaving only malice and envy.

For a long time, she had hidden behind history, observing from a distance, using Angels to manipulate world patterns, hatching corporate ventures to partake in the balancing of powers, to prevent their foolishness from affecting her.

Passing through the cross-shaped portal, Dilnai returned, her six wings flapping as she returned the spiraled spear to its space. Her weapon was damaged in the battle with Yan Duo, and Dilnai herself was injured, needing time to recover. Having fought to the extent she did with Yan Duo, she had no confidence in taking him down quickly and thus decided to leave.

She could not be observed by mortals, for mortals would wildly speculate about her, disturbing her existence. She had taken a long time to craft her current image and could not afford to lose all her efforts.

Dilnai sat on the throne at the center of the hall, her body cloaked in dark purple luminescence, analyzing the direction of the future.

Apart from her, no other beings, and certainly no other Mystics, were worthy to use the Throne of God. This was Dilnai’s firmest stance.

Regrettably, Yan Duo was too difficult to kill, and now Farosa had drawn close to Yan Duo, finding herself a reliable ally.

A smart move...

Multitudes of Angels with two wings entered the hall, bowing prostrate before Dilnai. She looked at these Angels, which should have been messengers through whom Dilnai conveyed her will to the world, raining fire and death upon the rebellious, each one renowned. Now, they were merely floating, hollow puppets.

"Oh, great Creator, it is like dominoes falling in a chain, the sun vanishing, panic boiling over, an economic crisis is erupting." They said, "Company after company is collapsing, millions of corporate employees are being laid off, Human civilization is headed towards depression and chaos."

"What about Lighthouse Core and the Corporate Alliance?" Dilnai mused, "We need to keep the Witches and the army in our hands."

"We have infiltrated the key figures inside, except the gatekeepers of the Giant Tower project remain... difficult to influence, and some Witches with particularly strong convictions are unwilling to cooperate with us," an Angel with black wings reported.

"Just bring Mireya back." Dilnai said, "Officially incorporate her, tell her our true identity and purpose. The Mireya of before knew too little about us."

"We will try our best." The Angels circled around Dilnai as they flew.

Mireya was now imprisoned at Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing, her exact whereabouts unknown.

"What about the Angels who have left the flock? Those traitors and deserters, have they been found? Now, we need more power than ever before," Dilnai inquired.

"We have found them, Creator." An Angel presented a list to Dilnai, "But they remain defiant and rebellious in spirit, refusing to return to your embrace."

So many traitors, so many solitary Angels...

Dilnai became aware of the whereabouts of one of the messengers.

The Chainsaw Angel had started a Gang.
