Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 217 - 193 Execution of Yan Duo
Chapter 217: Chapter 193 Execution of Yan Duo
Deeply imprisoned, Yan Duo felt both aggrieved and very uneasy.
Yan Duo, at this moment, was unable to speak, covered in scars. Its entire body bore the marks of having been mined, situated in a massive heat-insulated cage with extremely high temperatures and thin air. Terrifyingly large metal drills hammered against Yan Duo’s outer shell repeatedly, leaving crack after crack, while several drones shuttled back and forth, using red mining lasers to precisely cut through its iron meteorite shell, stripping away its skin layer by layer.
Being bombarded and cleaved by these mighty weapons, Yan Duo was in unbearable pain. It didn’t understand what it had done wrong, for a large group of people to suddenly attack and imprison it for a century and a half.
On one side of the thermal cage was an observation room, from which it could see through the glass barrier to where the Witch Researchers moved about, working day and night, gliding to and fro like phantoms.
Yan Duo couldn’t understand why, if they wanted to know about what was on its body, they needed only ask and not point at it from such a distance. If the humans desired the metal from Yan Duo’s body, Yan Duo was willing to share it with them, as it could regenerate under the sun anyway.
But without any agreement or communication, an overwhelming fleet and witches came out of nowhere, defeated it, and transported it here, where, without sunlight to replenish itself, it grew weaker every day.
The Godbinding Plan was constructed around its massive body, serving as a minefield, smelting factory, and research center all in one, containing five nuclear reactors. All the energy was used to suppress Yan Duo, the Sun’s Zenith, and to drive massive shackles proportionate to its size, restricting all its movements and forcing the alien life form to stand upright in extreme agony, exposing its belly for easier mining.
"Yan Duo..." Its voice could only be transmitted psychically.
"Relax," communicated Farosa, "We are here to help. Something might get detonated that will knock you out for a while. But I can restore you to your original state, I can do it, you’ve seen me before, and you know what I am capable of. Just trust me."
"Yan Duo!" The Sun’s Zenith was overjoyed, looking forward to the days of freedom that were finally within reach. It certainly did not want to miss such a golden opportunity, "Yan Duo~"
Farosa reached forward, as the seawater formed an eddy; initially, she intended to create a tsunami, but she realized it wouldn’t be enough to break the base itself. The Godbinding Plan was indeed old and poorly maintained, but from its inception, it was designed to imprison an ancient Mystic, and was thus prepared from the beginning for all kinds of disasters.
"Magic power won’t reach that distance; it will dissipate halfway," Farosa withdrew her hand, "We need to get closer."
"Once we get close, the base’s scanners will detect us," Lila said.
"Send out the Ocean Descendants to divert the attention of the base’s guards," Xu Yang was cautious and overly careful never hurt.
Currently at 600 meters deep, the water pressure was immense. The material strength of the Innovation could still withstand it, but if it were discovered by enemy ships, it would be difficult to survive the fierce attack.
"My children, go forth towards that heatwave, draw the enemy away," Farosa walked to a side window; through the thick glass, she could see the Ocean Descendants brandishing their claws in the water, prepared for sacrifice. Farosa’s Ocean Divine Power and the thick aura of an ancient deity emanated from her, enough for these beings to see her as their ancestor.
Yan Duo itself emitted vast amounts of heat, forcing the base to dispose of the excess heat, causing the surrounding seawater to be much warmer than other bodies of water. To the senses of the Ocean Descendants, it seemed like a fiery orb burning in the sea.
Following Farosa’s will, they began to swim around from the side, slowly approaching the Godbinding Plan, ready to lure the enemy’s mobile troops away. These beings swam at high speeds, soon entering the radar detection range of the base.
Xu Yang tensed up, this was the first phase of combat. He had to have the enemy divert those few submarines in order to safely get the Innovation close to Yan Duo’s cage.
Within the Godbinding Plan base, the supreme commander, Sogi Juro, was drinking tea and browsing the news. A series of sudden and mysterious headlines overwhelmed him, making him feel that the Godbinding Plan was not a safe place either, contemplating when to urgently request a transfer back to the Archipelago.
"Your Excellency," an urgent communication came through the base’s internal channel, "There are 12 Ocean Descendants roaming near us."
Sogi Juro quickly switched from leisure mode to work mode, activating the Retainer · Think Tank system in his brain. Honma Noriko entrusted the development department to design them and had them installed for Xisheng’s children to prevent them from acting out and losing face for her. Sogi Juro was also happy to accept this mode, as he was naturally averse to thinking.
The visual data interface in front of him popped up with 3 different options.
1. Immediately send out 2 submarines to pursue and drive away. (Success rate 84%)
2. Launch harpoons from the base’s weapon platform to pursue and drive away. (Success rate 61%)
3. Take this opportunity to reevaluate the safety of the Godbinding Plan with higher-ups, requesting reinforcements to avoid greater crises. (Success rate 25%)
He was actually very familiar with the Ocean Descendants. They were mysterious creatures, strong, fierce, and able to use some special powers. Over the years, the Godbinding Plan had fought against them several times but had not been able to completely eradicate or eliminate these beings. The Secret Ritual Group and other mysterious forces from the depths of the ocean continuously supported their existence.
Sogi Juro didn’t want too much fuss. Typing was very tiring, so he sent a 30-second voice message back instead, giving a nuanced assessment and commiseration regarding this event, and ultimately dispatching people from security to send out two "Auspicious Water Level" submarine shuttle machines to attack and execute those Ocean Descendants.
Two Auspicious Water-class ships should be more than enough to defeat these sea monsters, according to previous experiences, defeating them with modern technology is quite simple.
After finishing this task, Sogi Juro turned his attention to play. He planned to bring a few Witches into the office for entertainment; after all, their daily research on Zenith wasn’t making any progress, so they might as well spend time with him. Newcomers among the Witches often liked to resist, but the Godbinding Plan was isolated far from land, hanging alone overseas. Sogi Juro, a man with time to spare, knew that even the most resistant Witch would be worn down by the ordeal.
Meanwhile, aboard the Innovation.
Lila exerted her Magic Power in a single direction, extending its detection range to monitor the status of the Godbinding Plan. She faintly caught sight of two amphibious Shuttle Machines leaving the base and immediately reported to Xu Yang.
This allowed them to approach the Godbinding Plan without any concerns. Xu Yang nodded secretly. The total force within the Godbinding Plan included four "Auspicious Water-class" submarines; if attacked by all four at once, it could be troublesome, but now that only half remained, the battle would be much easier.
The Ocean Descendant gained enough time and space, and the Innovation advanced forward until it was two nautical miles away.
There, Xu Yang initiated the network communication module of the Innovation, remotely controlling and hacking into the Godbinding Plan itself.
Having six years of experience in the network security department of Kyushu High Pavilion, and having exchanged technology with the cyber security personnel from Kyoto Infinity, Xu Yang was well-versed in their information security system. Especially since the Godbinding Plan’s facilities were outdated, still running on the former generation’s system, handling it took time but was not too troublesome. What was difficult about Kyoto Infinity was dealing with core programs of the Century Pure Land’s level that continually updated technical codes, which looked daunting.
He attempted to seize control of the entire base while deploying false messages he had prepared beforehand.
Utilizing the information previously provided by Kanako, Xu Yang was able to craft seamless high-level commands from Kyoto Infinity, which he sent through an encrypted channel straight into the hands of the commander.
At that moment, Sogi Juro had a resisting Witch in his arms and a smart screen hanging in the air flashed an emergency command, making his heart skip a beat.
The last time he saw this type of high-level command was a week ago, when the corporate war officially broke out, instructing him to reinforce the defenses of the Godbinding Plan. Following the analysis and suggestions of the "Think Tank," Sogi Juro also purchased six new amphibious ships from his own Xisheng Industrial, which brought the security force of the Godbinding Plan to an astonishing ten Shuttle Machines.
Title: "Mountain Wind" Operation
From: Kyoto Infinity’s Shangjing Security Department
To: "Godbinding Plan"
The Martinez has changed course, evacuate the Godbinding Plan within one hour.
Sogi Juro hastily pushed the Witch in his arms away; the presence of the Blackfire Innovation was seriously bad news.
At this moment, his internal Think Tank provided him with a different suggestion. It encouraged him to request message confirmation from the security department, with the benefit being to avoid trouble, but the downside could be delaying the chance to evacuate. The Martinez was a high-speed, advanced aerospace battleship, and should it really be heading for the Godbinding Plan, not a single second could be wasted.
Another strategy was to immediately proceed with the evacuation as per the withdrawal procedure. Following the company orders, company system, and company protocol, one just had to be a diligent and responsible cog in the machine.
Sogi Juro chose to reply, asking for second confirmation. He didn’t want to panic, and if it was a false alarm, what then? The Godbinding Plan was his golden nest for over a decade; it couldn’t be abandoned so hastily.
By this time, Xu Yang had already followed the clues to the smart terminal Sogi Juro was using, hacked into it, and seized control.
He intercepted the messages and captured Sogi Juro’s communication, altering the status of the signal to make him think he had successfully sent a message, when in reality, it stayed within the local terminal and hadn’t left the Godbinding Plan at all.
"Requesting confirmation of the ’Mountain Wind’ operation," Sogi Juro sent a message to the security department’s supervisor in Shangjing headquarters.
Xu Yang quickly forged a reply interface from the senior supervisor, with Kanako providing many documents regarding interactions between Xisheng and Kyoto Infinity, enabling him to design the contents of the message so that the format and wording were imitated to perfection.
"The ’Mountain Wind’ operation is confirmed for execution."
Having received authorization from the headquarters’ security supervisor, no matter how conflicted Sogi Juro felt, he had to act according to protocol.
"Evacuate the ’Godbinding Plan’," he commanded the entire base, "Execute Order 155, full retreat, execute Zenith."
