Chapter 198: Chapter 175: Resurrecting the Dead
```
After that, they left the abandoned apartment in two separate ways.
took Qianqian and 102 and teleported to Cui Junyou’s Prosthetics Clinic Center, preparing to remove the implants and chips from Qianqian’s body.
Considering such an incident might occur, Cui Junyou had already prepared a "Black Box," a safe house that isolated signal tracking, to temporarily accommodate patients with dubious identities and avoid pursuit.
The safe house was spacious, located in the heart of Cui’s Clinic Center. It was divided into two floors; the lower level had black leather sofas, four sets of metal tables and chairs, a smart screen, and an integrated home automatic kitchen, while the upper level contained twelve bunk beds, accommodating a large group of fugitives.
tossed Qianqian onto the sofa like discarding trash, ordering her to lie down, then pressed the communicator on the wall to contact Old Cui for pre-treatment.
"Off for a walk." 102 left the safe house to play elsewhere; her injuries healed very quickly.
"What is this place?" Qianqian got up from the sofa, opened the wall-mounted cabinet, and found a red emergency blanket to wrap around herself. The air was filled with a pungent scent of disinfectant, reminiscent of a hospital.
"A crevice in the Corporate Ideology World." 101 pulled out a chair from the square table and sat down.
"Are we an organization? Who’s the boss here?" Qianqian had a lot of questions.
"This is a clinic; the boss is an old man surnamed Cui," 101 explained. "Our entire organization is called ’Nestor Corporation,’ and the woman you just met is the lady boss. We also have a male boss."
"What’s he like?" Qianqian was curious.
"A low-key person," 101 said, "I like him. You provide benefits; he gives money, as simple as that. He also directs the entire organization’s course of action. If you get close, call him Uncle Xu. Otherwise, Mr. Xu or boss works too. In any case, he’ll make an impression on you since he’s the one controlling everything behind the scenes."
"I’m really looking forward to it," Du Qianqian couldn’t wait to meet the male boss of Nestor Corporation.
called for the smart screen to turn on.
The homepage of the smart screen showed a new release from Kyoto Infinity called "To Another World, Virginity Graduation," which, from the name of the series to the titles of each episode, did not cause any comprehension barriers.
On the cover, the male protagonist surrounded by girls showed a grim expression, as if unwilling to accept this wonderful reality. The female characters’ attire was very revealing. To accelerate the conversion of funds and finance wars, Kyoto Infinity advanced the release schedule of six animated series for the latter half of the year, bringing a visual feast to anime enthusiasts worldwide.
initially believed the drama was meaningless, aimed merely at pleasing men with sensuality, but the first fifteen minutes of the first episode painted a fantastic otherworld, introducing an enviable continent with unforgettable customs and settings, both believable and not burdensome, rich in fantasy.
"Great," 101 said, "such a great setting."
"I’ve met the original creator of this anime at the company," Du Qianqian shook her head, "a shameless son of a bitch, working overtime and increasing output for some fund reward, causing everyone else to complain; greasy and sleazy."
frowned; she wasn’t interested in hearing this, as it shattered her delightful anticipation of the other world. Yet Du Qianqian laughed lightly, as if she enjoyed breaking this illusion.
How annoying...
What she had rescued from the den of beasts was not a companion but another wolf cub. 101 thought to herself.
She couldn’t handle such people. That’s why 101 disliked talking; others’ words and deeds often disregarded her feelings.
So 101 remained silent.
The door flung open, and Seeking Shadow dashed in.
remembered her, the Synthetic Human who claimed to be the Shadow of the Cyber Specter. Synthetic Humans always had bizarre mechanical minds and illogical behavior that forced 101 to be on guard. Clad in black and carrying the Ion Sword "Shadow Kill," Seeking Shadow was merciless in executing criminals in the name of shadowy justice, never sparing any. She was mainly active within the clinic.
"Name?" Seeking Shadow glanced at Qianqian.
"Qianqian... Du Qianqian."
Seeking Shadow looked at the anime on the screen where the main male and female characters were engaged in armless outdoor combat, making her wish she could chop the lustful thief on the screen to bits.
switched the channel to the leisure section, where the daughter of the president of Kakuya Media, Setsuki, was being interviewed. She had reddish-brown pupils and fashionable blue hair, sharing her intercontinental travel experiences with everyone.
Setsuki? What a curious name. 101 thought to herself.
"Surgery in three hours," Seeking Shadow withdrew her gaze, then handed a black chip to 101, "This, take it to the Cyber Specter."
"What’s inside?" 101 accepted the chip.
"Master Cui’s exploratory results for the Giant Tower project."
"The Giant Tower project..." 101 was puzzled.
"Something unspeakable, not to be discussed," Seeking Shadow instructed. "Make sure you deliver this message face-to-face to the Cyber Specter. Once he receives the information, he’ll know what to do."
"Mm-hmm," 101 nodded slightly, "I’ll make sure it’s delivered."
Meanwhile, Farosa contacted Lila, asking her to take her away from the abandoned apartment.
```
Lila piloted the Anonymous towards the Suzuki Springs, carrying only one passenger, Farosa.
It was undoubtedly the strangest pairing of members, after all the troubling events that had taken place between them. Lila replayed past memory files: during the Rat Tide, inside that clothing store, she had once used military combat skills to easily throw Farosa to the ground. Farosa, infuriated, charged at Lila but, due to her agitation, stumbled and fell, her forehead hitting the ground and swelling up in an embarrassing state.
Now, it seemed as though these grievances had vanished; Farosa propped her elbow on the armrest, chin in hand, watching Lila’s back with great interest, as if looking at an old friend of many years, while Lila could easily sense all of this.
"Why must you insist on my coming here?" Lila said.
"Dressed like this, I can’t walk on the streets," Farosa said, lifting the hem of her embroidered dress. "101 has taken the people to the clinic again, we have to wait until things there are settled before we can meet."
"You look like a character out of a Taixi Continent classical opera."
"They perform not only history, but also the reality I once lived," Farosa said. "I know it must feel strange to you, but I want to tell you something, Lila, you’re no longer so unfamiliar to me."
"Unfamiliar?"
"You used to hide within a metal shell, and all I could feel was distance, as if you were an empty mechanical slave. But now... look at you, Lila; your eyes azure blue, skin tender... I’ve even begun to like you."
"Stop your meaningless mockery," Lila retorted. "Do you think I do not know what you’re thinking, treating me like one of those little witch maids under your command? Now get off the shuttle, someone will take a picture of you in your dress and post it on ’Myriad Dreams Entertainment’, I guarantee you’ll be instantly topped on the trending homepage."
"That wouldn’t be good," Farosa said with a slight smile. "I’ll stop talking now, let’s just peacefully finish this journey."
The Anonymous crossed the wall and stopped in the courtyard of the Suzuki Springs.
Farosa left the cabin with an elegant posture. "Wretch," Lila couldn’t help thinking of such a word, most suitable for Farosa - naturally bad, purely evil.
However, Corporate Ideology can’t be defeated singlehandedly; she, Xu Yang, and Farosa must act in unison, with each capable of doing what the others cannot. At this stage, they must support each other for a chance at victory. Like a three-headed beast, every head must exert its strength.
Lila watched as Farosa entered Asa Katsuragi’s office.
All the way there, Farosa felt the prickly sensation of being watched by a professional sniper, an uncomfortable feeling akin to being in prison.
She had grown up quite a bit, now actually willing to open up and sincerely resolve the emotional knots, as well as ease the tension between them. Yet, too many troubles from the past prevent people from easily trusting her, although Farosa is patient.
She slid open the door; Asa Katsuragi had been waiting inside for a long time, kneeling beside the body of Nakano Osamu covered with a white cloth.
The time to fulfill her promise had come.
After recruiting Du Qianqian for Farosa, Asa Katsuragi did not know whether she had done right or wrong. Farosa was undoubtedly a viper, an inscrutable black cat, an unpredictable evil beast; handing over a poor street witch to her meant that the witch would not live a life happier than in a bar but would inevitably suffer from Farosa’s merciless torture and exploitation.
"Welcome," Asa Katsuragi rose to her feet.
"Excuse my intrusion," Farosa walked in gracefully, paying more attention now to her demeanor, manners, and attitude towards others, subordinating frivolous amusements to the pursuit of Power, wisdom, and superiority.
How beautiful and mature Farosa was now, Asa Katsuragi thought to herself; adorned in such a lavish, antique gown. She lacked the culture to depict the absolute beauty of Farosa, a beauty unique to a witch, mesmerizing and pale-skinned, with perfectly proportioned features flawless in every aspect, exuding an air of authority that commanded respect.
However, Asa Katsuragi was quite familiar with Farosa and could sense the venomous, selfish heart beneath her skin. Asa Katsuragi would rather mix with Xu Yang for fifty years than spend ten minutes with Farosa, yet now she had no choice but to do so, all for the resurrection of her brother.
"How would your brother regard the fact of being brought back from the dead?" Farosa offered a sympathetic smile. "Of course, I know, it’s hard for everyone to accept."
"Please," Asa Katsuragi bowed deeply to Farosa, "I’ve done what you asked of me, now please resurrect my brother."
"No need to be so formal," Farosa helped Asa Katsuragi to rise.
Farosa’s hands were so cold, as if there was no warmth in her body.
"..." Asa Katsuragi stood up, head bowed, not wanting to meet Farosa’s gaze, yet Farosa approached her anyway, confronting the evasive eyes; Asa Katsuragi drew a deep breath, finding this adversary harder to deal with than any she had encountered in the streets.
Farosa was like a deity walking among mortals, transcending an ordinary witch.
"I’m actually quite easy to talk to," Farosa said, looking dejected. "If you’re so afraid, I’ll feel down too."
"No, no, it’s just a moment of nervousness. Once Osamu is brought back, the three of us should drink together," Asa Katsuragi knew she had to comply with Farosa and act as if everything was fine.
This situation truly displeased her; Farosa was like a fastidious director, handing Asa Katsuragi a script that she had to perform, or else she’d be punished severely.
"That’s better, I hope everyone smiles at me, all liking me," Farosa said cheerfully, casting the Law of Recovery towards the white cloth, "You helped me find Qianqian, and I will help you too."
—Everything sank into a womb-like blood red.
Instantly, the contents beneath the white cloth began to stir, the corpse showing abnormal swelling, as Asa Katsuragi held her breath.
