Chapter 191: Chapter 168: The Future of Mireya

```
Before Farosa’s eyes, another 20 members of the Suzuki Group were retreating. They were covered in blood, utterly disheveled, like animals scared off by gunfire, frantically taking any route in their flight to survive.
"Hey, hey!"
"Move it!"
"Kill you!"
"This guy—" The Suzuki Group members, having noticed the 5 standing members of the Pale Legion, immediately felt emboldened. They knew these soldiers from New Taixi State were invincible in battle. As long as these white-armored warriors were present, their side possessed infinite fighting power. They shouted at Farosa instinctively, but upon witnessing the blood flowing from inside the armor, they couldn’t help but fall silent.
They... They were all dead.
Turning their gazes back to Farosa, this time, their eyes were filled only with fear.
The cacophony of their yells, akin to the barking of wild dogs, didn’t enrage Farosa. Still, she was determined to revel in the pleasure of slaughter. The entrance was destroyed, flames licked the doorframe, the temperature in the air rose, and she remained untroubled amid the battle-damaged surroundings.
Just as she had singled out the Pale Legion before, Farosa once again lifted her finger, sliding it across the air. Gray magic power surged out, traversing the hall and slicing evenly across their bodies.
In an instant, it was as if they had all been thrown into separate meat grinders. The gangsters’ bodies were instantly ripped apart, heavily strewn across the floor, transforming into similar-sized, grotesque piles of flesh. It was impossible to associate these mounds with their original forms.
Some of the Suzuki Group’s gang robots burst out, unaffected by the magic power, and opened fire on Farosa. She retreated, casting the Law of Recovery on the entrance to the hot springs. The destroyed bulletproof glass door reshaped itself, restored to its former state, forming a barrier. Bullets pattered against it, leaving behind scars.
"Ahh..."
"The door’s been..." More of the retreating Suzuki Group members, seeing this, felt a chill through their bodies. Outside the cold glass, Farosa became the boundary between life and death.
Closing that door and cutting off their escape route, Farosa coldly watched as they were annihilated. Asa Katsuragi and her people rushed over, finishing off these last enemies. No amount of whining or begging for mercy did any good.
Although victorious, every member of the Katsuragi Gang was injured, the loss was severe, and they had become skittish. Seeing these 5 members of the Pale Legion, many were scared stiff.
Asa Katsuragi, however, was well aware. The moment she saw Farosa, she knew the overall situation was settled. In the presence of Farosa, no mortal flesh could escape death.
"Scared of what!" Asa Katsuragi charged forward, kicking a member of the Pale Legion from behind. The corpse heavily thudded to the ground. The sound of divided flesh jostling neatly inside the armor was heard, akin to shaking a bottle filled with slices of meat—utterly hair-raising. Overcoming their initial fear, surprise and joy appeared on their faces.
The exceedingly formidable Pale Legion, which once rampaged arbitrarily on the battlefield, had perished! Not until that moment did the exhausted members of the Katsuragi Gang release their long-suppressed emotions.
"Oh!"
"We won!"
"We’ve won!"
"Finally!"
Asa Katsuragi couldn’t help but marvel.
After a ferocious battle, they had completely wiped out the members of the Suzuki Group! Including the fearsome Pale Legion, now all defeated under their hands!
In this way, the dominant position of the Katsuragi Gang in Katagi District, and even the entire underworld power of Aizu City, was truly established!
This battle truly made the name Katsuragi resonate throughout the land, a bloody fight that firmly established this new gang’s standing, daring anyone to underestimate them no longer.
Not wanting to be noticed by unrelated parties, Farosa and 101 left immediately from the front.
"Your power is unparalleled in the world, and your influence shall know no bounds," 101 praised Farosa.
Farosa looked outside. On the desolate streets, vehicles and bodies were burning everywhere. All that could be heard were the intense crackling of the fire, the breaking of machinery; flesh turned to char, clothing and weapons damaged, everything reduced to rubble, a complete mess.
Her gaze particularly fixed on the corpse of Nakano Osamu, she couldn’t help feeling slightly amused.
"Asa Katsuragi," Farosa said, "will surely come to me, begging for the resurrection of her brother. Perhaps she’ll even request the rebirth of others."
"You will..."
"Miracles and magic aren’t free."
Elsewhere, having lost the members of the Suzuki Group, the robot Quero, and the companions of the Pale Legion, only the last member of the Pale Legion was left, carrying Mireya as they fled, pursued by A40.
Mireya was on the brink of death, her adrenaline effect expired. Her eyes rolled back as her body was dragged along the ground. Due to severe dizziness and bodily disarray, she couldn’t even maintain consciousness. The Pale Legion tossed Mireya aside and turned to focus on A40.
However, there was no chance for a fair fight. As the footsteps grew louder, the Pale Legion turned and saw Lu Jing and two Power Armored Soldiers arriving.
At the sight of them, the word "surrender" instinctively surged up the Pale Legion member’s throat, but they couldn’t utter it. The dignity of a person from New Taixi State wouldn’t allow them to be captured alive.
Lu Jing cautiously released her power, a dazzling "Anti-Magic Power" covering her and her companions. Upon closer inspection, Lu Jing’s magic was like a painting of stars, mirroring a myriad of magic powers.
Bang!
```

A40 swung his blade in a direct chop, but the Pale Legion blocked it with their arm guards.

The final battle had begun; this was the Pale Legion’s end. They couldn’t rely on Mireya; even if she were lucid, she couldn’t break through Lu Jing’s anti-magic power and was ineffective against a synthetic human like A40.

At the cost of increased energy consumption, A40 initiated an overload program. It moved faster, its actions more ferocious. Although the blade couldn’t damage their individual armor, repeated attacks accumulated concussive force, steadily weakening the Pale Legion’s defense.

The Pale Legion’s thoughts were in disarray, and the only clear sensation was—fear.

Fear of the mysterious Suzuki Springs and the formidable forces that dwelled within, which were far too powerful for their small detachment team to confront.

They weren’t just any gang; saying they were involved in a corporate war wasn’t an exaggeration. All he felt was that everything was unfathomably deep.

The Lighthouse Core would have to dispatch a much larger team, no, an entire army, to have any hope of completely crushing them.

He heard an ominous whirr of machinery.

Two power armored soldiers from Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing picked up gatling guns and opened fire on the Pale Legion, their barrels spinning rapidly, high-velocity bullets spurting out, forcing A40 to quickly dodge to avoid being torn apart by the bullet storm. Endless armor-piercing rounds pounded the Pale Legion, and the armor held for a few seconds under the barrage of both gatling guns before shattering, the interior bodies pulverized into a mist of blood; he fell backward to the ground.

"Target captured," Lu Jing leapt towards Mireya.

"Boss! They’re going to be taken!" A40 covertly messaged Xu Yang, "People from Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing."

"The involvement of a giant corporation in this game is all to our advantage," Xu Yang had seen everything through the alley’s cameras, "We can’t face the retaliation of the Lighthouse Core alone."

This mental witch obviously held a high position. Relying on powerful witches hired from outside, the Lighthouse Core had formed two major witch troops, "Messenger of Peace" and "Goddess of Peace," each with significant value. If Mireya was taken by Heavenly Cardinal Manufacturing, much of the Lighthouse Core’s attention would shift to them, seeking a way to exchange such a key captive.

Correspondingly, the pressure on their side would be shared.

Having received the confirmation, A40 turned tail and ran to avoid being pursued and killed by Lu Jing and the others.

Work finished! Time to continue the date with Huang Feng.

"At least the trip wasn’t in vain." Lu Jing was secretly thrilled, capturing Mireya made her mood great, "This merit should be enough for us to be called back to headquarters, no need to lock horns with any net phantoms."

"At least we caught her, otherwise just for Blue Phoenix getting damaged, we’d be fined a ton of money," the soldier sighed.

Lu Jing fell into reverie, missing the scenery of her homeland. She would finally be able to begin her journey home, ending this bizarre experience in the Archipelago Continent.

Rats aplenty, cyber specters, dirty bomb outbreaks, including personally reporting the crimes of Black Fire Innovation which led to the subsequent corporate war, Lu Jing had experienced too much and needed time to reflect and settle.

"What are you doing standing there? Come help," the soldier next to her urged.

"Oh... right," she mumbled.

The two power armored soldiers and Lu Jing lifted and carried Mireya to the shuttle machine. Capturing a member of the Lighthouse Core was undoubtedly a great achievement; for the Xia District, the Lighthouse Core had always been a formidable potential enemy. A live captive had infinite data and value to extract.

The most difficult problem was that the rubber restraining suit prepared for subduing a mental witch was too small for Mireya. After wrangling with it for a while, Mireya gradually opened her eyes slightly.

"She’s awake!" the soldier yelled.

Mireya slowly shook her head, signaling that she was harmless. In reality, her head hurt terribly; her lungs felt like they were punctured with seven or eight holes, breathing was difficult, her limbs couldn’t move, completely paralyzed. Severe injuries even caused a collapse of her magic circuits; she’d be a waste of a witch thereafter.

Her fate was out of her control. Even if she returned to the Lighthouse Core, she would suffer punishment for this decisive loss. It wouldn’t be any better than falling into the hands of other forces.

Even if given another chance, Mireya saw no possibility of victory; her heart was filled with desolation. She remained silent and would continue to remain silent for a long time.

A40 returned to the aftermath of the battle on the street in front of the hot springs, quickly contacting Huang Feng, but she was nowhere to be seen. It aimlessly wandered the streets.

Lila came down from her hidden sniping spot, knocked on its head harshly, forcing it to stop spinning in place.

"She’s gone," Lila said, "The combat date is over. Did you make her blush? That’s an effective tactic against dangerous witches."

"I didn’t," A40 said. From its perspective, it was rather the one to blush.

"They went in that direction," Lila had watched Rolo take Huang Feng away earlier, "Not happy, I guess you won’t see them again."

A40 immediately ran towards the direction Lila had pointed, its final futile effort. Its mechanical processor’s background tasks were returning void codes and paragraphs of self-denial, leading it to walk alone on the aluminum alloy streets of Aizu City, flanked by thousands of household lights.

It quietly returned to Suzuki Springs, assisting Katsuragi Gang members in collecting the spoils of war.

As Xu Yang reviewed the acquired intelligence, he was quite satisfied. The harvest was extraordinarily substantial. Collecting countless weapons and ammo from the battlefield was enough for the Katsuragi Gang members to eradicate those stubborn stamp traffickers with extravagant firepower.

Mental witches, the Pale Legion, Suzuki Group gangs—they had all been defeated. This show of power was incredible; Katsuragi Gang would expand much faster than before in the Katagi District, with no other gang of equal caliber to contend with them.

That meant the entire Katagi District had become a possession of Nestor Corporation. All the other small businesses and gangs in the area would have to attach themselves to the Katsuragi Gang, joining the sphere of Nestor Corporation’s influence. The Katagi District was the first crack they’ve labored to create, which would allow them ample room to grow.
