Cyber Era Witch -
Chapter 188 - 165 Command Reality
Chapter 188: Chapter 165 Command Reality
```
"Thank you," Lila said softly, "did Farosa send you?"
"I came on my own." 101 was as detail-oriented as they come. Farosa hadn’t given any orders to anyone in the Witch Division yet, but 101 knew she had to act,
"She fears the psychic witches," Lila commented, "how naive."
"If you underestimate our mistress, I’ll have you eat this." 101 raised her fist to Lila’s face and then turned her back, silently gazing at the battlefield.
Xu Yang’s heart skipped a beat when he saw the Pale Legion’s heavy firepower counterattack through the camera. He kept contacting Lila until she replied she was safe, only then could he relax.
"Come back quickly," Xu Yang was concerned for Lila’s safety.
"I can still fight, I know my limits," Lila continued to look for a suitable sniping position.
"Never let your guard down," Xu Yang admonished softly.
"Understood." She knelt on one knee, continuing to search for targets. Only when she had delivered a complete victory to her master would she leave. She had to stay active on the battlefield until the end of the fight.
After Mireya was knocked down, the other seven members of the Pale Legion immediately contracted their formation, activated backup supplies, and used the last of their energy shield generators. A thicker, more tangible, oval-shaped energy shield quickly formed, and the conical generators spewed dense streams of energy outward, defending against any threats.
Once Mireya’s presence was confirmed, Xu Yang immediately tried to hack into her Digital Mind, projecting the RLT data virus "Total Paralysis" at her.
Mireya held a special status; members of the Pale Legion knew the battle couldn’t go on without her. Apart from two left to keep watch, the others contacted Mireya to find out what was happening inside her fully enclosed armor.
"Mireya!"
She groggily opened her eyes, a severe pain in her forehead, vision gone.
Ah ah...
What was the purpose again? Mireya’s consciousness was shattered.
To find the sea creature in the Suzuki Spring Family Shrine, to investigate the mysteriously deceased Xu Yang, to capture the Ancient Witch.
On the modern battlefield, a cold shot could take down a seasoned veteran. She was cautious and had even specially requested a set of Personal Armor for herself.
Herself, the robot Quero, plus seven members of the Pale Legion, the Shuttle Machine, and a mob of thugs -- such a lineup wasn’t luxurious but was more than enough to take down a place like this.
As the special task force of the Lighthouse Core, they were not supposed to move freely, but with the Suzuki Group’s legally justified reason of reclaiming lost territory, gathering intelligence through a gang feud seemed justifiable.
If they messed up, it would be quite embarrassing.
To win, to keep winning.
The Personal Armor began to support Mireya’s body.
It had learned Mireya’s combat habits and knew she would insist on fighting in such a situation, so it used its built-in power system and exoskeleton to forcibly prop up her body. Simultaneously, it performed microscopic surgery; the armor’s lining quickly absorbed Mireya’s lost blood, controlled her injuries, and partially replaced her biological neural functions with electronic signals.
Mireya could see nothing, hear nothing, but only her forehead was injured, and her brain still retained some function. With the powerful support of the Personal Armor, she could still perform the most basic life activities.
"I’m -- okay --" Mireya barely managed to speak.
Hiss --
Her Digital Mind suddenly encountered a high-frequency, intense hacking attack. The RLT data virus began its work, unleashing countless malicious data packets exploiting the vulnerabilities in Mireya’s mind. Her information panel was instantly overwhelmed with virus data.
Running the Digital Mind inherently consumed mental effort, forcing Mireya to focus her waning attention on her Digital Mind to try to block external signals.
However, the network assault came too suddenly and intensely, manually operated by Xu Yang, and the scale of the cyber offensive far exceeded anything Mireya had ever experienced, leaving her paralyzed. She needed to gather her nearly broken thoughts before she could reconstitute her system.
Already severely wounded by gunfire, her situation was now exponentially worse.
Mireya slumped within her armor, her whole body powerless. The Personal Armor still propped her up, making her stand stiffly like a mannequin, but in reality, she was incapacitated.
She was in agony, her body temperature rising, sweat pouring out. The Personal Armor quickly activated its temperature control system to help manage her body heat to prevent her from dying from overload. The human body typically maintained homeostasis, and the downside of implants was that once they were damaged, they could significantly impact normal bodily functions.
For Mireya, her Digital Mind was under fierce hacking attack, and her original brain struggled to relay information correctly throughout her body, let alone harness Magic Power.
Meanwhile, the armor injected an overload of adrenaline into Mireya, causing her stored biological energy to be wildly depleted as it desperately maintained her body and mental functions. She now wanted to die but couldn’t, forced to endure the pain of gunshot wounds, cyberattacks, exhaustion, and other horrific injuries.
Psychic powers were invincible, Personal Armor was invincible, and with a Digital Mind, one could manipulate computer systems with the human brain, exerting a degree of control over this technological world. She was supposed to be all-powerful, without a single weak point...
Yet she found herself in this state where she neither could live nor die.
"Move out! We’re retreating!" shouted a soldier from the Pale Legion.
Retreating and begging for mercy were always options, but...
She was not willing to give in.
Mireya struggled to lift her finger, aiming at the hot spring establishment.
It wasn’t the Personal Armor’s imitation control; she willingly persevered in battle.
-- Her final objective was still to take over Suzuki Springs.
Seeing her determination, the Pale Legion understood.
"Let’s go."
"Beware of hackers."
"The full assault has begun." Five of the seven Pale Legion members leaped into action, charging toward Suzuki Springs.
They knew Mireya’s intent.
```
Defeat the enemy!
"Charge! Charge!" Suzuki Shinji saw that those arrogant New Taixi State people were fighting desperately, so he couldn’t stay out of it either and plunged into Suzuki Springs.
Decisive battle!
The final fight between the Suzuki Group and the Katsuragi Gang would determine the ownership of Suzuki Springs.
The victor would gain control over the entire Katagi District, and even completely monopolize the gang influence in Aizu City, bringing this chaotic underground city entirely under the sway of a single power.
The last battle erupted, and Farosa smiled as she saw Mireya’s plight.
With the Psychic Witch down, Farosa’s mood was lifted.
The sound of gunfire, roars and the screams of the dying arose mere steps away in the hall below, where countless gang members were engaged in close combat. All the noise of gunfire and clashing blades was sheer delight to her. A river of blood, this was the spectacle she wanted to see.
"Time to strike," Xu Yang urged Farosa.
He was monitoring the entire battlefield, and with the Pale Legion thrown into combat, the pressure on the frontline had become intense. The Katsuragi Gang stood no chance against these Future Warriors clad in Personal Armor.
"No," Farosa shook her head, "I don’t want to fight."
"If you don’t act, many people will die," Xu Yang said.
"Don’t rush me," Farosa closed her eyes, wanting to prolong the process. She hadn’t gotten serious yet.
Initially, she just wanted to run, but was dragged into the fight by Xu Yang. Now she didn’t know if the enemy had other tricks up their sleeve, whether there were reinforcements, trump cards or other witches and special warfare personnel. If she acted rashly, she could easily fall into a trap.
If she was to assume this position, she needed the corresponding resolve. Raising and recruiting so many human stepping stones, wasn’t it just to see them bleed?
Xu Yang’s thoughts were completely opposite; they had to minimize casualties among their own people at all costs.
"Send the witches out," Xu Yang ordered, "We can’t let people die in vain."
"As you wish," shrugged Farosa.
Xu Yang concentrated, connecting with the various data systems within Suzuki Springs to take control of the overall situation, scanning for the enemy’s main avenues of attack.
Breaking through from the front were five members of the Pale Legion and the Suzuki Gang. This was their main offensive line.
On another side, Xu Yang detected a terrifying scene.
A slim, tall robot with thin limbs was scaling the back wall of Suzuki Springs. It had easily climbed over, its arms transforming into blades and small-caliber energy cannons, ready to search and eliminate hostile targets within Suzuki Springs.
Xu Yang recognized this machine as the "Scavenger," a high-end combat model belonging to Lighthouse Core. It was not easy to deal with. The most critical issue was that Asa Katsuragi had deployed all the combat power to the front, leaving the spot where the robot infiltrated completely unguarded.
It would head straight for Xu Yang’s location.
Xu Yang attempted to hack it, but with the situation of Mireya being invaded by a data virus fresh in his mind, they had become more vigilant in information warfare. Both the robot and the Pale Legion functioned in network silence, severing external attack access and switching to autonomous operation mode, well-prepared against hacker attacks and difficult to disturb in the short term.
Xu Yang made a snap decision.
He dispatched units 101 and 102 to deal with the powerful robot that had infiltrated the backyard, while he sent Mizuiro Yoshioka and her Ink Beasts to support the frontline. Shallow Dream was still a child and was not involved in the fight.
The five members of the Pale Legion were like gods descending to earth; these soldiers were the main forces of the Lighthouse Core. It was impossible for the Katsuragi Gang to resist them; they could only serve as fodder to be exhausted.
They had to wait for 101 and 102 to deal with the mysterious robot that had burst in from the rear before letting them return to the frontlines. Only then would they have a slim chance of victory.
"Boss, I’m going in!" A40 transmitted, "There are two white-armored soldiers outside!"
"Go for it!" Xu Yang responded quickly, "Take them out directly!"
"Roger!" A40 acknowledged the order.
Thus, the final battle was divided into the front battlefield handled by gang members, the rear battlefield handled by 101 and 102, and the external battlefield where A40 was positioned.
This was a battle for the life or death of Nestor Corporation; they could not lose.
Seeing Xu Yang’s arrangement, the members of Nestor Corporation, including the Witch Division and the gang, fought desperately. Farosa clenched her fists in secret.
Why was everyone so brave, so fearless of death? They were fighting so hard, but what for?
To run away, hide, avoid all conflicts, wouldn’t it be better to come out when you can overwhelm everything?
Gang members fought following their boss’s will, Lila sacrificed herself to snipe, the proud Pale Legion joined the battle, A40 came to the rescue, Blue Phoenix took an active part in the situation, Mireya sustained serious injuries but refused to retreat, Asa Katsuragi watched her brother die before her eyes, Xu Yang commanded everyone’s actions, responsible for their own side’s victory... Each of them was doing something Farosa was unwilling or afraid to do.
Farosa was different from them. Killing her parents and then running away, killing a god and then running away, she had long developed a dependency on avoiding priority. Fleeing at the first sign of danger wasn’t just about running away; she was also accustomed to letting others take the lead, initially relying on the fellow Disaster Witch, and now on the Witch Division and Xu Yang.
It was time to grow up. Farosa stood up silently. Running and lying had been her best strategies in the past, but now she didn’t need them anymore.
On the other side, outside Suzuki Springs.
After receiving Xu Yang’s order, A40 advanced at the right moment, with Huang Feng and Rolo following covertly.
Huang Feng observed the front, where two members of the Pale Legion were covering Mireya, who was kneeling on the ground, convulsing non-stop, in a very poor state.
Wow, that looks tough, doesn’t it?
Huang Feng felt Mireya was like her, having long wanted to fall, but was continuously propped up by something.
It couldn’t go on like this, being forcibly kept upright by that personal armor must be agonizing.
Huang Feng actually sympathized with Mireya, so she released her Magic Power towards her, adjusting the coverage until it was just right, and then commanded reality.
"Turn the armor into water," she said.
