Chapter 127 - 127 110 Establishing a Company
127: Chapter 110 Establishing a Company 127: Chapter 110 Establishing a Company The lower part of the industrial park had been soaked in seawater and was inaccessible, so Xu Yang climbed up the metal railing, with the rusted mesh creaking under his footsteps.
Rooms, suspended corridors, and industrial machines crisscrossed each other, forming a double-layered labyrinth that required constant attention to one’s footsteps to avoid stumbling and falling.
When he looked up, he saw the arc-shaped dome resisting the pressure of the seawater, with schools of fish swimming and shimmering with silver light.
It was eerily silent all around, as if it was an underwater paradise open to just one person, making it hard to break the tranquility.
“This place is really big,” Xu Yang murmured quietly as if there were ghosts sleeping around him, not wanting to disturb them.
“Yeah,” Lila stood beside Xu Yang and leaned forward against the railing.
Seeing the others wandering in the industrial park, Xu Yang reached out mischievously to Lila, looking for subtle parts of the body of the Sky Crane Robot to see how realistic its simulation was.
Lila bashfully lowered her head, letting Xu Yang do as he wished.
After carefully examining with his fingers, Xu Yang found it to be remarkably lifelike, with temperature, humidity, and softness that were quite astonishing.
In Lila’s Consciousness Chip, electronic signals continuously sent back positive feedback.
“They’re coming this way,” Lila pleaded, “Don’t let Sally see.”
Xu Yang then withdrew his hand.
Following the lead of Xu Yang and Lila, Sally also leaned against the railing, looking down at the deep blue seawater that swelled at the center of the industrial park.
After her, Farosa came over and leaned out boredly, nearly tumbling down.
“This is Yongsen Technology’s property,” Xu Yang said, turning his head to see a Yongsen identification code attached to the railing.
He took out his phone to check its status and discovered that it had gone bankrupt 20 years ago.
Previously, it had ambitiously established a huge underwater industrial park but suffered a massive invasion by mysterious Ocean Descendants.
With its capital chain broken and debts piling up, the company had to declare bankruptcy, and its assets were acquired by other companies.
Corporate law consisted of two systems; one was set by the Corporate Alliance, of reference value to enterprises worldwide, while the other was designed by the dominators within their respective giant corporate territories, with more detailed regulations.
According to Kyoto Infinity’s regulations, under such circumstances, Yongsen Technology Industrial Park could be acquired by a third-party company after the external threats were eliminated, as long as the acquisition was based on its latest assessed value and the corresponding fee was paid to Kyoto Infinity.
Even sunken deep underwater, the rating agencies under Kyoto Infinity evaluated the condition of Yongsen Industrial Park annually.
Because it had been deeply invaded by the Ocean Descendants, despite its massive scale, it was only appraised at 4.5 million funds.
“Only 4.5 million funds are needed to take over this place,” Xu Yang said, “as long as we really apply to Kyoto Infinity under the name of a company.”
“We are all dangerous persons,” Farosa said nervously, “to deal with Kyoto Infinity?”
“Only Lila needs to face them.
When Kyoto Infinity sends someone to check, we just need to lay low,” Xu Yang said.
“The most crucial thing is to decide on the name for our new company.”
Farosa was terrible at coming up with names.
A bunch of bizarre and magical names swirled in her mind, yet she dared not voice any of them for fear of embarrassment.
“Let’s call it Nestor Corporation,” Xu Yang decided firmly.
“Lila Nestor…
using Lila’s surname?” Farosa was surprised, “Why?
Why not De Aquilia Company?”
“Because it’s her venture, the founder’s surname is often used for naming,” Xu Yang explained.
Lila almost fell off the railing from excitement.
Her Consciousness Chip momentarily overloaded with immense joy and affection.
The temperature of her entire system rose.
“Really?” Lila smiled as Xu Yang steadied her, “Name our company after Lila…
after my name?”
“Yes, it will be called Nestor Corporation,” Xu Yang nodded, “I’ve prepared the structure.
Lila, as the founder and CEO.
I’m the invisible man, the power behind the throne, and Farosa is the Chief of the Nestor Corporation Witch Division.”
“The Witch Division!” Farosa exclaimed, “What about the Council?”
“Naturally, it will be a governing body under the Witch Division,” Xu Yang said, “In the future, as chief, you’ll be able to pay the Little Witches under you and recruit and purchase newly born witches within our territory.”
“We don’t have any territory yet,” Farosa noted, amused.
That the corporation could unconditionally manage newly born witches in its territory was incredibly convenient for selecting those with potential.
“Then we’ll take it,” Xu Yang said, nodding.
“Aren’t there many gangs in the Underground City?
As long as we eradicate the gangs, the territory will be ours.
In the future, Nestor Corporation will control the whole Aizu City, then Anjiu City, onwards to the Archipelago Continent and the entire world.”
Having made this decision, Xu Yang continued with them to check the condition of the flooded industrial park.
It operated around an undersea mine, with a full set of mining equipment including exploration, mining, grinding, sorting, refining, assembly, and transportation.
Each industrial facility was massive and situated in a corner of the park, with a high level of automation that nearly eliminated the need for human maintenance.
Besides, the industrial park also had employee dormitories, offices, warehouses, garages, repair shops, and other accessory facilities, all fully equipped, offering considerable convenience for both production and living.
“This place will become the first asset of Nestor Corporation,” Xu Yang said as he walked down toward the flooded walkways, placing his hands on the bright yellow metal railings, envisioning the scenes of a future bustling with productive activity and operating at full capacity.
“Damage level 44%.” Lila’s gaze swept the area, analyzing in detail, estimating the general situation, “We need to purchase several robots for repairs, specific cost calculation in progress.”
“More money to spend!” Farosa hated spending money the most.
“If funds cannot be turned into capital, they are just numbers,” Xu Yang consoled.
“We need a batch of maintenance robots and industrial robots to restore the operational efficiency of this mine, and to repair the equipment damaged by flooding,” Lila finished calculating, “The total investment amount will be around 14 million in funds, with the mine’s annual output of 20 to 40 thousand tons of iron ore, averaging a 60% iron content.
Based on the market price, the average revenue is about 2 to 3 million per month, with a break-even point expected after 12 months of operation.
Due to the high degree of automation, no workers need to be recruited; it can operate entirely on robots.”
“It turns out to be an iron mine.” Farosa looked towards the depths below, suddenly feeling an intense draw to something inside.
Yongsen Technology was digging here, not just for simple minerals.
Farosa scrutinized carefully, regrettably her sight couldn’t penetrate the sea water.
“I’m in on this project,” Xu Yang nodded, “Let’s get Nestor Corporation up and running as soon as possible, take this place over, and then gradually develop it.”
“Don’t affect Rat Village.” Sally emphasized.
Xu Yang thought about the relative locations of Aizu City, Rat Village, and the Industrial Park.
Aizu City had an old road leading to the Industrial Park, constructed by Yongsen Technology as an aside during the investment process; as the Industrial Park became abandoned, the road too had fallen into disrepair.
As long as that road was renovated, the transportation of goods would not affect the direction of Rat Village, which after all was behind the Industrial Park, essentially deeper within.
After explaining the concealment of Rat Village to Sally, she was able to put her mind at ease.
“I never thought you’d become a businessman as well,” Sally teased.
“Not a businessman,” Xu Yang explained his plan to Sally, “The company is just a front so we can unite like-minded people under this name.”
“Your like-mindedness…
is what?” Sally hesitated.
“Think about it,” Xu Yang said, “Why can’t we feed everyone with such advanced technology now?
We have the capability to cultivate every inch of land in the world, build a mansion for everyone, but why are Ratmen still suffering; why are so many of us living in oppressive, hopeless conditions, unable to see a future?”
“Because it’s survival of the fittest,” Sally whispered.
“Being poor isn’t scary, what’s frightening is inequality,” Xu Yang continued, “Humans aren’t scary, what’s scary is corporatism.
If Ratmen can understand this, you too can become gravediggers of the old era, and join us in changing the status quo.”
“There are no eternal enemies,” Sally realized.
“The only eternals are progress and development, and that’s my goal.
My view of Nestor Corporation is that, although it is a company, it is the most progressive and pioneering among them, and can lead the way in transformation.”
Sally had a colder, more cruel understanding of the world.
Ratmen and humans had deep-seated blood feuds, with many on both sides dying in the conflict.
That is to say, humans would not accept Ratmen, and it was difficult for Ratmen to accept humans.
But… contact and attempts were possible.
If Xu Yang and his group were still just a ragtag bunch, it would have been hard to say what they could achieve.
But now they had truly established a company, even owning a not insignificant industry, and with Farosa’s powerful strength, they might indeed have the potential to change the status quo.
And, the Ratmen were also willing to make sacrifices for change.
“Sadly, we can’t come over here to help out,” Sally said, “We can only hide in Rat Village, not daring to take a single step out.”
“Once Nestor Corporation controls Aizu City, and we change the dominant order to ours, only then can Ratmen interact with the outside world,” Xu Yang explained, “Even just for that, you need to cooperate with us.”
“I understand,” Sally nodded, “I’ll gather everyone, retrain the armed forces, but you… don’t forget to help us achieve progress, too.”
Saying countless ideas cannot compare to the goodness of tangible interests.
“Understood,” Xu Yang nodded.
He heard a series of roars, turning his head to see Farosa standing on a near-water mining platform, with a pleased smile on her face, beckoning to the multi-armed, winged, scaled creatures in the water.
They roared at Farosa, baring their teeth in a grimace.
Among them, one with a slender body nearly reached 10 meters in length, casting a huge shadow in the water, reminiscent of that earlier monstrous beast.
Farosa had found the offspring of the giant marine Ocean Descendant.
Unlike their fierce, irascible parent, these smaller beings had great potential to be tamed.
“They will become my children,” she smiled at Xu Yang, “and you are their new father.”
