Chapter 125 - 125 108 The Offspring of the Gods
125: Chapter 108: The Offspring of the Gods 125: Chapter 108: The Offspring of the Gods “Yan Duo—Yan Duo—” Zenith was greatly troubled, imprisoned deep in the Abyss, astonishingly sized alloy fetters locked it from head to toe.
A nuclear power station was built right above its head on the sea surface, supplying the infinite energy required to suppress this giant creature.
In the past, just after the Corporate Alliance had defeated the Witch Council, they were at the peak of their power, able to focus the world’s human and material resources to hunt not just witches, but other extraordinary and mystical beings.
They also constructed a series of massive buildings to suppress external races, capturing and imprisoning Ancient Mystics as much as possible and keeping them far from civilized society.
These so-called external races originated from life forms akin to meteorites, falling from the stars.
They were designed to wander through the cosmos, but now they were suppressed on the Earth’s surface, becoming the source of rare minerals.
The minerals mined from Zenith’s body were known as “Yan Duo Metal,” which had exceptionally high material strength and unparalleled temperature resistance, specifically used to forge Power Armor and Giant Warships, representing the ultimate material sought in technological development.
Seen by ancient people as giants and immortal demigods, they were now merely sources of minerals—a great leap forward for human civilization, a powerful step towards total conquest over nature.
Due to incessant drilling and transportation, from the time of its capture, Yan Duo’s mass had diminished by approximately 15%.
With the development of mining technology, the speed of extraction became even more astonishing, drawing nearer the day when it would be completely hollowed out.
For this reason, Zenith persistently sought help from other Ancient Mystics and kin of external races.
However, they were unable to protect themselves or simply did not care about Yan Duo’s safety, leaving it to fend for itself.
Farosa was now at the bottom of the sea, and Zenith’s cries for help echoed louder in her mind.
“Yan Duo!”
“What?
You’re dying?
Hang on,” Farosa quietly responded in her mind.
“Yan Duo…”
“Save your strength, hold on a little longer.
I’m at work.
I will rescue you when I get a chance.”
“Yan Duo…
Yan Duo!
Yan Duo?”
“I’m not lying to you,” Farosa coaxed, “If you promise not to call for help from now on, you’ll be the first I consider rescuing.”
Zenith was overjoyed and no longer cried out in despair, allowing Farosa’s mind to return to a state of calm.
It wasn’t just to pacify it; there indeed was future merit to consider.
Farosa silently speculated.
Zenith was over 400 meters tall with an extremely terrifying combat capability.
It had once shouldered the mission to adjust and control the sun and was also an idiot—easy to manipulate.
It was truly the decisive weapon that could be used to annihilate the giant corporations.
The thought reminded people of the taste of fear.
Farosa found the idea amusing.
Humanity’s problem was that they took themselves too seriously.
Fortuitously, during her exile in the Archipelago Continent, she patiently learned Zenith’s form of communication.
Now, she was probably one of the few people in the world who could understand what it was saying.
In the center of the Great Ocean, within the research facility known as the “Godbinding Plan,” dramatic changes occurred on the terminal screens responsible for the long-term monitoring report of Zenith.
For some unknown reason, Zenith’s frequent consciousness neural fluctuations abruptly ceased, as if a continuously erupting volcano had suddenly gone quiet.
A century of howling, indignation, and grievances came to an abrupt end, greatly surprising the Witch Researchers.
They hurriedly uploaded the relevant reports to Kyoto Infinity.
However, plagued by its own troubles, Kyoto Infinity suspected that such minor news would not attract the attention of the higher-ups or secure funding.
They could only hope that these ancient, weathered constructions would continue to suppress the ancient life form, while periodically bombarding it with nuclear weapons to keep the creature disoriented.
If Zenith were to be released by something, the billions of people and thousands of companies on the Archipelago Continent would live under the shadow of doomsday.
After ending her communication with the big fool, Farosa’s attention returned to the deep-sea wonder surrounding her.
Everything around her filled her with immense affection.
The seabed was originally a forbidden place for land creatures, but now she was clearly surrounded by the deep sea; the dark waters seemed as if they could pressurize through the glass curtain walls, instilling a pathological sense of oppression in her.
Her heart raced, yet she was irresistibly drawn to this feeling.
Deep inside, Farosa craved the sensation of pressure, restraint, and limitation; only the gloomy depths of the sea could give her that feeling now.
She affectionately pressed her face against the glass, fantasizing about plunging headfirst into the sea to revel in the ecstasy of drowning, being devoured by an unknown colossal beast of the sea, and then being reborn in its belly.
“Those powerful Ancient Sea Kin,” Farosa’s eyes widened, “I wonder if they are still alive at this time.
If so, how vast and terrifying they would be.”
“Better not be,” Xu Yang sensed key information in Farosa’s words, “‘Ocean Descendant,’ is that the name of their race?”
“Ocean Descendant, children of gods,” Farosa whispered, “Names are just codes.
All we need to know is that they are hungry, cruel, bloodthirsty, love to inflict pain, and are capricious.”
“Just like you,” Lila said.
“I listen to the screams of the dying, not crush their intestines…” Farosa’s eyes widened, “Look—it’s coming.”
Xu Yang saw the pink fish desperately fleeing, moving away from the enormous creature in the deep sea.
The seawater was disturbed, crashing against the underwater tunnel where they were, striking the glass with heavy resonance, like a giant hammer pounding in turns.
The tunnel’s walls were constructed with specially made high-strength glass to withstand the pressure and prevent collapse under the deep sea.
The roaring noise got closer and closer, and Xu Yang could only see an enormous shadow moving through the water.
Its body was long and burly.
Although it was quite a distance away, it still brought a psychological pressure that made one wish to turn around and leave, to stay away from trouble.
This was also part of its ability, making observers feel an unprecedented sense of suffocation just by watching.
“Hiss…” Sally squinted her eyes, for her, each sighting of that behemoth brought an uncontrollable fear.
However, she didn’t want to leave; she wanted to train and temper herself, to forge herself as strong as steel.
Xu Yang’s visit made her realize how vulnerable she was.
In these moments of particular clarity, she suddenly despised the version of herself indulged in stamps, which had eroded the pride and will that Sally once possessed.
Sally clenched her teeth.
She would reclaim, inch by inch, and rebuild her pride as a leader, a Saint, and a Ratman Witch.
She puffed out her chest and faced the rapidly approaching behemoth.
Then, the water brightened.
Xu Yang saw several spots of light piercing the darkness.
Upon closer examination, those lights appeared to be bioluminescent organs at the tips of tentacles, meant to lure unsuspecting small fish.
These organs were located on the neck of an Ocean Descendant, previously hidden within a thick shell.
Now, to observe, it turned all its tentacles forward, illuminating the tunnel and the new strangers within.
There were a total of five tentacles, gently rising and falling with the seawater, slowly illuminating this Ocean Descendant.
Its head was extremely sharp and elongated, resembling a gigantic snake or a dragon beast from ancient legends, with traits of aquatic creatures like gills and fins.
The body of the Ocean Descendant was enormous, covered in sturdy scales, with several long arms extending from its sides, turning it into a multi-limbed, nightmare-like monster.
Paired wings grew on the back of the Ocean Descendant, a total of two pairs, four wings, and there might be more towards the rear end of its body, but Xu Yang couldn’t see clearly.
Such an astonishing and twisted creature opened his eyes wide.
If this 8-meter-wide underwater tunnel were used as a reference, the Ocean Descendant’s size was much larger; to it, the tunnel was like a water pipe.
As it neared, the stark contrast became even more apparent as it came crawling over, its arms reaching out to grasp the tunnel, almost able to encircle it.
The terror of the colossal creature was chilling.
Xu Yang held his breath, face to face with the Ocean Descendant, only a wall between them.
It pressed its arms against the top of the tunnel, the tunnel’s lighting revealing the details of its claws.
Its hands slightly resembled human hands, with five fingers each, webbed between them to aid in swimming, and covered in smaller, bluish-gold scales.
The Ocean Descendant pressed its head against the tunnel, bringing its ferocious face into clearer view.
Its terrifying visage was the kind only seen in the hallucinations of the mentally ill, with multiple tentacles erupting from its cheeks, a mouthful of sharp teeth, and a head larger than a truck.
The fear of being swallowed whole by it was intense, even through the glass curtain wall, and only grew stronger.
“This is abnormal.” Sally was trembling due to the proximity of the Ocean Descendant.
“It’s never come this close before.”
“My dear child,” Farosa took the initiative to walk towards the glass wall, reaching her hand out to press it against the barrier.
The Ocean Descendant’s eyes, now clearly seeing the approaching Farosa, instantly became tense and furious.
Boom!
The tunnel shook violently for a moment, Xu Yang desperately maintaining his balance to avoid falling, the loud noise battering his eardrums.
The Ocean Descendant was hitting the underwater passageway with its numerous arms, repeatedly striking the glass curtain wall.
The destructive power of the creature was unquestionably great; even though the underwater tunnel was made of high-strength materials, it still emitted a piercing cracking sound.
Xu Yang clearly saw cracks appearing where the top of the tunnel was being struck, and water began to jet into the passageway, signaling impending ruin.
It was time to leave!
“Based on the current intensity of the attacks, the tunnel will collapse in 19 seconds.
18; 17;” Lila observed and counted down.
“Hurry up!” Sally quickly retreated.
“The water will flood…” The thought of seawater rushing through the tunnel, backflipping and destroying the entire cave, filled Sally with intense fear.
She couldn’t let everyone drown.
She was now certain that compared to her obsession with stamps, she valued the safety of her kinfolk more.
“Submit to me!” Farosa looked up and shouted to the Ocean Descendant, “Your master, your New God!”
Her voice grew hoarser, ultimately emitting a cry similar to the Ocean Descendant’s, almost inhuman.
Her eyes transformed, with pupils turning sharp and elongated, like a venomous snake, or a descendent of the Dragon Kind.
Upon hearing Farosa’s voice, the giant Ocean Descendant’s actions immediately underwent a noticeable change.
