Chapter 1223: Chapter 940: Breaking the Cocoon to Become a God

Rinne’s icy breath was so close, blowing on Xu Yang’s face.

Her lips were as sweet as she was, making one wish to be intoxicated for a lifetime.

In Xu Yang’s embrace.

Her soft body trembled slightly like water, as if it might dissolve into nothingness at any moment.

The hands Xu Yang wrapped around her waist also became scorching, as if to brand his exclusive mark on her skin.

Inside the carriage.

Rinne turned her long-harbored desire and affection into tangible actions, the world may be vast, but having each other was enough.

They seemed to want to lose themselves in one another’s embrace, finding a pleasure unique to each other...

Euphoria.

"Ah..." Rinne sighed with pleasure.

Xu Yang had become so much stronger than he was six years ago, anyone who could reach this level would have women fawning over him.

After indulging in the sweetness, Xu Yang got up. He left everything he had saved over the years with her.

He felt much freer than before, and Rinne also placed one hand on her forehead.

"They all went to the Mojave Desert," Rinne said without opening her eyes, covered in sweat.

"Who?"

"Easter, Shilofi, and Silvia Delacruz from Scarlet Reconstruction," Rinne said.

"They never tell me about their actions," Xu Yang wondered.

"Because they’re on a pilgrimage to Farosa."

"Do they think this will make me angry?" Xu Yang was confused.

"Perhaps it’s a microcosm of a power struggle, they think you’ll become useless sooner or later, and the true god Farosa will usher in her unique era," Rinne said.

"That’s ridiculous. I have to go to the Mojave Desert. I hope there’s still time for the battle," Xu Yang said.

"There will definitely be time."

Xu Yang packed his things.

"By the way — how did you know?" Xu Yang turned to ask.

"I swore to help you see things you couldn’t," Rinne opened one eye and made a shooting gesture at Xu Yang, "Go ahead, Mr. Web Monitor."

After Xu Yang left, Rinne worked in the carriage until Lu Jing arrived.

Lu Jing boarded the carriage, looked around, and saw no trace of Xu Yang.

She acutely sensed the fleeting scent in the air, knowing something had happened here.

"Where’s Mr. Xu?" Lu Jing asked Rinne.

"He went out," Rinne said.

"Hmm..." Lu Jing fell into contemplation.

She originally came here to find Xu Yang, to ask him to propose to her father.

Because Lu Jing had spoken well of Xu Yang to her father, Lu Kanyan, hoping he would approve of this marriage.

Lu Kanyan found this unbelievable and strongly opposed it.

Because Lu Kanyan knew Xu Yang was notorious and too free-spirited, he couldn’t allow his well-bred daughter, Lu Jing, to be ruined by Xu Yang.

But no matter what, Lu Jing sought her own happiness.

She believed Xu Yang would love her, and her pursuit of happiness dwarfed everything else.

So Lu Jing boarded the train to find love, but unexpectedly only found Rinne. The peculiar scent here further fueled Lu Jing’s disgust and tension.

"What’s wrong?" Rinne noticed Lu Jing’s expression wasn’t good.

Lu Jing didn’t know if she could trust Rinne, but just as she was about to turn and leave, she suddenly felt an odd current of electricity sweep over her, and Rinne felt it too.

"I..." Lu Jing struggled to sit down, "I’m just torn."

"Torn between being a good girl or a bad girl?" Rinne suddenly said, as if probing.

"Have we met before?" Lu Jing’s heart trembled.

Rinne was silent for a while.

"Maybe we have." Rinne moved towards Lu Jing, sat across from her with her elbow supporting her cheek, and carefully stared into Lu Jing’s eyes.

"It feels like we’ve accomplished a lot together," Lu Jing pressed her face, "but I never remember actually being in those places, doing so many things, especially... the memories of you are even more blurred. Who are you really?"

"I’m Rinne, knowing that is enough," Rinne said.

"Please give me a cup of tea," Lu Jing requested.

"Tea?" Rinne mocked.

"What’s wrong with tea?" Lu Jing countered.

"I want to give you another drink." Rinne got up,

"I can’t drink alcohol." Lu Jing hesitated.

"It’s not alcohol." Rinne poured two servings of pink sweet soda and one serving of lemonade from the car’s drink machine, making a cute non-alcoholic beverage. "This is ’Sweet Sprint,’ dear Lu Jing, we’ve met again." Her voice trembled, almost crying.

...

Three hours later, in the Mojave Desert.

This area had been designated by Yan Duo as a region of light, where sunrises and sunsets occurred normally. Now, under the blazing sun, dry winds swept over the rocks and sands that stretched for dozens of kilometers. Xu Yang traversed the wasteland and arrived at the Black Wall Data Center, the very place where Farosa was to weave her cocoon for Ascension.

The shimmering research complex stood tall within the vast desert forbidden zone.

Xu Yang descended to the facility’s lower level, and indeed, Easter, the Vanishing Witch, Shilofi, and Silvia were all there.

Easter seemed to have been standing there for a long time; she squatted on the ground, staring at the huge cocoon-like structure floating in the air. It was grand as a ship and gleamed like gold. Easter’s fingers clenched tightly, as if to shatter the barrier imprisoning Farosa.

The Vanishing Witch, Shilofi, still possessed an ethereal and cool demeanor, though it seemed that her mental wounds permanently affected her. She stood silently in the center, upright.

Silvia Delacruz, Chief Executive Officer of Scarlet Reconstruction Company, stood to the side, apparently accompanying to demonstrate the witch enterprise’s loyalty. Silvia was entirely a glamorous beauty from the Agave Continent, with beautiful skin, exquisite hair accessories, and an explosive figure.

Xu Yang stepped in among them. He knew that the three were rare and formidable beings, yet he remained composed. As he approached, all three turned their heads one by one, sensing Xu Yang’s arrival.

"What exactly happened to Farosa?" Easter asked sorrowfully. "Why? I can’t sense her soul, nor can I sense her heartbeat. It’s as if Farosa will wither inside this massive cocoon..."

"She won’t. Although I don’t know the outcome, my duty is to monitor and protect this transformation process. She is on the path of Ascension, nothing else," Xu Yang said as he walked over.

They looked up at the giant cocoon.

With the pulsation of strange energy, the cocoon emitted a crimson inner glow, seemingly alive. It constantly flickered with dazzling colors, painful to the eyes, causing one’s vision to blur.

Inside the cocoon, one could faintly see Farosa floating in a sea of pure energy, with every cell in her body absorbing new power.

Her mind expanded in all directions, no longer confined to the witch’s thoughts, attempting to comprehend the unfathomable mysteries of the universe.

Xu Yang believed her consciousness was rising to a higher dimensional level, with memories and knowledge flooding into her mind, ultimately transcending her previous existence and physical condition.

"Farosa will eventually emerge." Xu Yang said confidently.

"Who are you?" Silvia asked curiously, although she personally oversaw the provision of brain implants for Xu Yang, she knew little about him personally.

"I’m Xu Yang, Farosa’s fiancé," Xu Yang declared.

"F-fiancé?" Silvia was shocked. She thought Farosa was a solitary existence. Little did she know that the rumors were true; she truly had someone she was attached to. This revelation unsettled many of Silvia’s plans.

Shilofi looked at Xu Yang thoughtfully before she took the initiative to walk over and stand close to him, side by side.

"Yes, I approve." Shilofi said softly, her voice chilly and indisputable. She even took Xu Yang’s hand and intertwined it with hers, likely trusting all along that only Xu Yang could bring happiness to her best friend, Farosa.

"Right, the one capable of bringing happiness to Farosa," Easter said naively as she hugged Xu Yang from the other side.

"Indeed." Xu Yang felt comfortable with the presence of Easter and Shilofi, both extraordinary beauties. They could all live happily together.

"If you can make Farosa happy, it’ll surely make us feel good too, right?" Easter said.

Shilofi turned her gaze to Xu Yang.

"Now, Farosa can’t make an appearance, and it might be days, or even years before she reappears." Shilofi spoke slowly and precisely.

"Indeed, Farosa might take a long time to emerge," Easter said anxiously. "What will you do then?"

"Me?" Xu Yang was startled.

"Aren’t you Farosa’s fiancé? If she can’t awaken, you won’t be able to fulfill the engagement, would you? That would leave you leading a lonely life alone," Easter said.

"Ah, yes!" Xu Yang nodded.

"In that case, can I take Farosa’s place?" Easter asked earnestly. "After all, I’ve always wanted to help Farosa; if so, I could do it."

"I can too..." Shilofi said slowly. As a close friend of Farosa’s, she was obligated to help her.

"Uh—" Silvia was completely shocked on the side. Did these two know what they were saying? And Xu Yang seemed quite content with it!

"If you were to replace Farosa, there would be a lot to do," Xu Yang said.

"I can learn!" Easter was full of spirit. "Teach me! I’m sure I’m not inferior to my sister."

Just then, a sudden mutation occurred.

The energy within the cocoon gradually intensified, as if every particle was vibrating!

Dazzling light erupted from within, enveloping them all in scorching radiance.

A brand new figure descended from within, surrounded by a scarlet aura.

Xu Yang and the three witches present felt themselves being watched by a powerful consciousness—Farosa’s will!

Freed from the final restraints, Farosa, having reached her ultimate state, appeared!
