Chapter 1209: Chapter 929: Five Armies Launch Simultaneously
The waves of unity broadcast to every corner.
Summoning friends from all directions to besiege the New Taixi State.
Honma Noriko silently gazed at the tactical panel.
From every frontline, the Ark Foundation is facing an attack a hundred times fiercer than before, their forces are stretched thin.
The situation is dire. Honma Noriko’s gaze scanned the map of the New Taixi State, searching for even a glimmer of hope to accumulate advantage, yet they no longer have a rear stronghold safe enough to be called a sanctuary.
The once gloriously isolated New Taixi State has never suffered such a catastrophic disaster—
Meanwhile, on the East Coast, New York City.
At this time, a day and night of fierce battle has passed.
Sally appeared in her rat form, wandering beneath the Statue of the Goddess Dilnai after the battle.
The giant statue of the goddess holding a book and sword had been beheaded, half of it plunged into the sea.
After a recent rain, the air was filled with the scent of sweat and Ratfolk fur.
Sporadic gunfire and fighting noises echoed from the alleyways, but soon quieted down.
New York City is the stronghold of the East Coast; capturing it equals unlocking the gateway to the heart of the New Taixi State, paralyzing the defense hub of the East Coast.
The New Taixi State had transferred its main army west to fight the Allied Forces, leaving the East Coast’s defenses in tatters, vulnerable to the "rats" army’s landing.
"Run free!" Sally walked back and forth, elated.
She spun in place, revealing her towering original form, with seven twisted giant horns protruding from her head. Beside her, the savage and fierce giant rat beast ambled along as bodyguards.
Above her, numerous drones and autonomous machines flew across the sky, forming an unmistakable steel legion.
For six years, the legacy left by the Cyber Specter on the Hot Tree Continent continued to take effect.
They had nearly hollowed out half of the Hot Tree Continent, manufacturing more than 200,000 machines! Now, this mechanical legion also fully activated, landing on the East Coast alongside Sally’s massive Ratfolk army.
A group of mechanical priests wearing black robes and metal masks cautiously followed, dedicated to conversing with machines since their youth, praising the machine spirit and the Cyber Specter, the god of machines!
They traveled with the emblems of the Seven-pointed Star, Crossed Cross, and Roaring Evil Spirit held high, with armed robots clearing the path ahead, dismantling the Sanctuary of Dilnai and bombing the Lighthouse Core’s garrison along their way.
Civilians on the East Coast were under siege, powerless to provoke these metal giants and the wave of Ratfolk.
"Roar, roar!" A massive giant rat crawled past Sally.
She looked at it in surprise, as it carried a torn-apart machine gunner from the Lighthouse Core in its mouth, as if presenting Sally with a gift.
This giant rat was fiercely vicious, and Sally cherished it.
Its body was covered in heavy mechanical armor, with black smoke puffing from the chimney on its neck, two rows of purple chemical pumps installed along its spine, with visible bubbles roiling within the containers.
Its mechanical augmentations were powered by electricity, the engine pistons puffed rhythmically, producing an unstable tempo, echoing the oppressive hunger spreading through the veins of this mechanical giant rat.
"Go hunt, go hunt our enemies," Sally said tenderly.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!" The mechanical giant rat dropped the shredded mechanical scraps, striding confidently across the streets.
Skyscrapers trembled along its path.
Behind shop windows and glass curtain walls, citizens stood, fearfully watching the unimaginable giant rat beasts.
White Ratmen piloted single-pilot shuttles across the sky, shouting loudly, "Continue the march! Continue the march!"
They seemed like masters of the tide, commanding the army of Ratfolk through New York City, chasing, surrounding, and annihilating the remnants of the New Taixi State before they could retreat inland.
Sally watched with satisfaction.
She felt that Ratfolk, all of the Ratfolk clans had become an extension of her will.
She could envision them running to and fro, leaping everywhere throughout New York City.
They occupied the food factories and machinery workshops, unraveling their secrets with the aid of the mechanical legion, manufacturing countless food supplies, firearms, and cannons for the legion.
The noise of Ratfolk artisans crafting weapons reverberated in their bones, tireless in their efforts, clinking loudly, lacking robustness, each piece angular and barbed, sufficient for the Ratfolk to carry out extensive destruction.
Sally wanted to shout fully and completely.
We are here! Walking under the light! Voicing the Ratfolk voice!
She was originally shy, but looked at what she had achieved.
With all the rats, and the grand legion forged over the six years under the direction of the Cyber Specter, she had landed on the East Coast, invaded the New Taixi State, responding to Xu Yang’s call.
She was no longer a fragile Rat Witch but a Saint paving the way for all Ratfolk.
Thus she screamed.
"Squeak, squeak—"
The ground shook, and Sally’s voice drowned out everything.
She could see the will of the Ratfolk, the once-bickering, chaotic Ratfolk clans’ will was now like a large hand suddenly clenched tightly together, combed into a single entity.
Hearing Sally’s scream, Ratfolk scattered across vast areas scrambled to emit pheromones, spreading information exponentially, forming a vast military force, running, sprinting, and racing in every corner of the city, responding to the call of their sovereign and deity!
Countless fervent voices of Ratfolk rose in unison.
Small and fragile Ratfolk, their steps echoed thunderously when marching in unison.
No longer fragile, no longer afraid!
The New Taixi State army that had just retreated turned around only to see countless fierce Ratfolk appearing on the horizon, furiously hunting them down.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"
"Grrr—"
"Chirp, chirp, chirp!—" The Ratfolk bared their teeth, chasing wildly.
They surrounded the lagging troops, systematically obliterating the New Taixi State army, completing their triumphal advance.
This is—the power I control—Sally walked into New York City.
She heard muffled explosions and saw the twin towers of the World Trade Center collapsing after being hit by a heavy shuttle machine!
Smoke billowed as countless people fell from the top, seemingly heralding the real doomsday for the New Taixi State.
Countless people were watching, countless anxious eyes looking out from windows and balconies, and the citizens’ terminals, phones, TVs... all media devices were hacked, replaced by loud warnings: Do not go outside.
Sally knew they couldn’t go out now, for the army was still occupying New York City, where blades are blind.
The people of New Taixi State once thought their homeland was well-guarded and invincible, and New York City itself wasn’t a prepared city. Yet Sally brought unexpected shock to them, as the Ratman army advanced recklessly, and the New Taixi State army fled in disorder or lay lifeless on the side.
This was all... both enriching and intoxicating. Sally raised her claw, seeing the vast blue sky through it.
Her achievements, her honor, she longed for future history to record them like this—ratmen gathering in her hands, reclaiming their dignity and position.
Toward honor, victory, and joy!
...
On the other side, the walls of the southern border of the New Taixi State were also breached.
"Charge!"
"Advance!"
"Rush into the New Taixi State!"
"Reclaim Lone Star City and Rocket City!" Countless armed people rose up and fought fiercely.
They leapt from the mountains, jungles, and fields, attacking the southern high wall built by the Lighthouse Core.
On the Lighthouse Core Wall, several border brigade forces stood at attention, desperately holding their posts, trying to repel these southern yokels always aiming to break into the New Taixi State.
These people had long been excluded from the boundary, once despised as "Peaple," now forming such a large-scale attack wave, moving north, pouncing on New Taixi State like packs of hyenas, determined to take a bite of flesh from them.
Who is it... who leads such a force?
The soldiers of the Lighthouse Core scouted the front line, startlingly finding a man wearing a red star hat, resolute face, and military uniform, riding a white horse atop a dune.
Behind him sprawled a vast army, with no shortage of armored vehicles, guns, and aircraft.
"Look, look!"
"That guy..."
"Open fire!"
"He’s immortal!"
"How do we kill him? Under his clothes, he’s empty!"
Colonel!
"Now let’s fight together!" The Colonel turned his head, shouting loudly, his strong and penetrating voice and unwavering attitude always rallying the will of his compatriots and comrades, "Forward! Forward! Forward!"
A shout three times, as if the voice itself could form an iron fist smashing against the front line!
A mighty army from the southern Agave Continent surged northwards, attacking the world of the New Taixi State.
The Colonel led each battalion in a fierce assault on the Lighthouse Core’s high wall.
His disciplined army swept through the chaotic enemy force, with many high-ranking Pale Legion soldiers attempting a counterattack, only to be encircled by elite assault troops.
Relying on precise training and years of combat experience, this southern army’s morale was high and tactics swift.
Shuttles from the Lighthouse Core were either shot down in the barrage or paralyzed before takeoff. The slightly slow-reacting Lighthouse Core forces barely realized they’d been engulfed by the sea of enemy forces.
The Colonel personally led the charge, participating in every assault. So much so that future generations would remember this war, thinking the Colonel was simultaneously present on every battle line.
A clunky and gigantic heavy combat robot strode out from within the high wall, advancing with big steps, its front painted with the fifty stars flag of the Lighthouse Core, symbolizing its vast and mighty power.
"It’s the Free Pioneer!"
"Beware!"
"Avoid that guy—" The Agave Continent soldiers suddenly exclaimed, having heard tales of unparalleled mechanical giants hidden within the walls, not expecting it to be so colossal and fierce!
The Free Pioneer robot shielded the Tower Core’s troops as they reorganized, releasing dazzling lasers from its hands, sweeping over the Agave Continent force breaching the high wall in an instant, incinerating an entire company’s men into molten slag and vaporizing them into emerald mist.
"Free Pioneer activated!"
"Go! Drive out the southerners!"
The morale of the New Taixi State soared, ready to reclaim the high wall one defense zone after another, continuing to block the Agave Continent outside.
The Colonel was undeterred, personally picking up a rifle, firing alongside hundreds of brothers at the Free Pioneer.
Countless bullets whizzed past its sturdy shell, and the Free Pioneer continued forward, dismissive of the small-caliber firearms’ firepower.
The Free Pioneer stomped forcefully, shaking the ground and mountains, shielding dozens of primary forces of the Pale Legion behind it with ruthless and professional counterattack strategies, easily thwarting wave after wave of the Colonel’s counter-assaults.
"Attack as you will." The Free Pioneer constantly broadcast loud warnings, "The Lighthouse Core is beyond your reach."
More than a dozen Agave Continent soldiers, covered in dust and sullen, crouched in a crater, listening to the piercing explosions outside and the heavy footsteps of the Free Pioneer’s advance.
They exchanged glances.
"That guy’s too big."
"If we don’t fight now, those white-skinned devils will wreak more havoc later."
"Let’s take it on!"
They gathered all the electromagnetic grenades and high explosives at hand, scoured all the ammunition from fallen comrades.
And then, they jumped out of the trench.
Rushed out.
